I would rather take a better deal from Miami. Give me pick 6, 18, 36 and 81 in 2021 and their 1st and the 49ers 1st in 2022 along with swapping picks in the second round. The Packers have Jordan Love at QB, go all in with him and get 4 premium picks and two future firsts to surround him with talent on a rookie deal.

I only think Miami is in play. NE could make an offer but Miami can blow them away so I wouldn't worry about that. The Jets have the draft capital but they are going ot want to rebuild with a rookie and the rest of their draft picks as Rodgers doesn't fit their timeline esp if they have to trade away most of their assets to get him. Miami on the other hand can offer 3-4 premium picks in the 2021 draft tonight and two firsts in 2022. Why do the Jets make more sense? Their roster is pretty bad and Rodgers won't make them that much better if they have to give up most of their picks to get Rodgers.

Trade 1 for a young proven player
billsfan89 replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chicago just redid Mack's deal which makes him impossible to trade. I would have explored that possibility too as a Mack type pass rusher would have been a big help to the defense. But once again the market isn't aligning to help the Bills at this point. Even if Mack has 2 years left of elite production I would trade pick 30 for that. The Bills window to win is now and having an elite pass rusher is what this team is missing filling that hole for 2 years would be worth the 30th pick in a so/so draft for a college football year that was a full on Covid-19 season. -
Bad Luck With Clemson High Draft Picks
billsfan89 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That recent list is definitely a very good list of players to come out. I didn't know Hopkins was a Clemson product and I forgot Watson was one too. Lawrence and Wilkins are also very good Pro-Bowl caliber players on that list. Thanks for the insight, not a huge college football fan myself so my draft knowledge tends to come from scouting reports and what people say on here which means I don't know ***** haha. -
Saints rumored to be trying to trade into top 10 for DB
billsfan89 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably looking to package their 1st and 2nd along with a future 1st or 2nd and 3rd. If I were Dallas or another team in the top 10 I would gladly take picks 28, 60, NOLA's 2021 1st and 98 in exchange for pick 10 and 115. Dallas's needs are all over the place on defense and while Horn or Surtain could help greatly. In the NFL on defense you are usually better off going to quantity over quality for most positions besides a pass rusher. You could really rebuild a defense with picks 28, 44, 60, 75 and 98 while also filling an offensive need or two. All while pocketing a future first. I don't know if NOLA will want to mortgage the farm like that giving up a 2nd, future first and a pick swap but if you can get a team to over pay why not? -
Trade 1 for a young proven player
billsfan89 replied to dbfla10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If there genuinely was a Diggs level talent as a pass rusher hitting the market that could be had for a similar package I would be all for doing such a trade. However there just wasn't that player on the market. Sometimes your needs and what is on the market don't align and you have to try and take a chance in the draft. -
Bad Luck With Clemson High Draft Picks
billsfan89 replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How have other teams high Clemson draft picks turned out in the NFL the past 10 years? Sammy wasn't a complete bust but he certainly didn't live up to his draft status, same thing with CJ and Shaq. All of them had their moments in the NFL but were not consistently great or even good players in the league. I don't know if I believe that you should avoid players from certain school intrinsically but you do have to wonder about possible patterns. -
You can't "get hand outs" or vote if you are an illegal immigrant. You can't collect welfare or any public assistance/benefits without a social security number. The only public resources that illegals get access to are hospitals (call me crazy but we shouldn't just let people in a medical emergency die) and schooling (call me crazy again but we shouldn't have children not being educated esp since most likely they are only in the country because of their parents.) Now those aren't insignificant costs and you can debate wither or not those costs are burdensome compared to the labor, consumption taxes, other non-income taxes and economic activity they generate but do not act like they are able to collect on public benefits or have such a sweet deal. Having deportation hanging over the head of you are your families lives daily along with not being able to have other rights is not a cherry deal.

McShay- Bills trying to move up above 23 for Etienne
billsfan89 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a smoke screen. I just don't buy McBeane willing to trade up for a RB. I can buy them taking a RB at 30 if that's the BPA but I don't think they are willing to give up other limited draft resources to go up and get an RB. It could happen I just don't think it is very likely. -
Not sure if I put Lamp into being a starting or near starting caliber player, but defiantly you could argue it. Hopefully he pans out that way if needed, still would like to see a proper Ty replacement via the draft.

With Ike officially back in the fold this team runs 7 deep with starting caliber or high end backup caliber players. Dawkins-Ford/Ike-Mitch-Mongo-D.Williams and Bates are a pretty good 7 at the O-line, would love to see some more depth/developmental players brought in via the draft particularly at tackle but love to see Ike back in the fold for at least one more season.

Miami Trades Ereck Flowers - OL Line @ #6 Now?
billsfan89 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A fairly marginal trade, Flowers is returning to the only team he has success with and Miami cuts their losses. I don’t see this as having that drastic of an impact on Miami’s draft plans. -
Ty Dunne: Motor can lift Bills to super bowl
billsfan89 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the combo at RB is fine enough for this team to win a SB. Moss is a great blocker, decent receiver and a solid power runner and Singletary is a decent all around back. Both with a good o-line can make contributions. I get feeling like you can upgrade the position but why burn a high pick moderately upgrading the RB position when you have other short and longer term needs you can fill with high draft picks? If the Bills deem the BPA at pick 30 is a RB then I am fine with it as this front office has earned the benefit of the doubt. But I personally prefer to add a Corner or Edge rusher at that pick if one is a good value there. -
Zach Ertz about to be traded? [Edit: or Not]
billsfan89 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It isn't like this team can't find a use for a potentially dynamic player like Ertz, especially if he doesn't have to be heavily relied on in this offense. -
Are sports’ drafts fair to the players?
billsfan89 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No and yes, the leagues set up these rules to have a competitive balance and get the best product which makes the league and the players the most money. So the players having to abide by the draft entry rules is within the terms of service a league can call upon. But the league has decided to slant the rules to benefit the veteran players and the teams initially. But the longer term gain of the competitive balance of the league is also what draws up the interests of the league. If the NFL had a European soccer style system I am not sure you would have as much interest in the league overall. -
Wouldn't hate this draft, I really like Oweh, he is a high risk high reward player at a position of need. I think given this team's overall "solidness" it is best to take a chance on a player that could be the best pass rusher out of this draft at pick 30. Great teams take these types of chances even if they have bust potential. In recent years I have seen a lot of players who weren't the most productive but were drafted fairly high due to being freak athletes and having success at the pro-level. JPP and Ziggy Ansah come to mind. I think Oweh fits that bill and he is worth taking a chance on. Corner at pick 61 is sensible adds depth and competition for Wallace. Safety and O-line are great places to pick up some depth too.

Former Bear Steve McMichael has ALS ( Lou Gehrig disease)
billsfan89 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hoping that's the case, my family has a history of Dementia later on in life (Thankfully not until we hit our 80's). If they can get a cure or productive treatment going in the next 15 or so years that can help my mother who is in her 60's avoid it. As for Mongo sad to hear about this, I am a bit too young to remember him playing but I do remember him wrestling in WCW back in the day and it is always sad to hear someone struggling. -
No idea if this is a good draft or not but I made a bunch of trade downs and took players I felt like had long term upside and could help depth wise. 56- Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky 61- Carlos Basham Edge Wake Forest 94- Jamar Johnson Safety Indiana 171- Chauncey Golston Edge Iowa 191- Kayode Awosika Tackle Buffalo 236- Erroll Thompson LB Mississippi State Added future draft selections 2022 Second round pick Seattle 2022 Second round pick Denver 2022 Third round pick Dallas I feel like if the value isn’t there just keep trading down and acquiring 2022 selections. I feel like I was still able to improve the defense while opening up this teams future draft selections which will be needed once Josh’s contract comes due or for further trades to add a impact player.

Orlando Brown traded to the Chiefs for 1st Rd Pick
billsfan89 replied to CaptnCoke11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
KC basically gave up a 1st and 3rd for Brown and the Ravens 2nd, sensible trade for both. KC still gets to pick twice in the back end of the second likely selecting an offensive linemen with one of those picks to further bolster the Oline. Ravens get a nice haul of picks for a player they couldn’t have resigned. Not that drastic of a move as the Chiefs lost both OT’s to start free agency but they knew that had to reconfigure that Oline. -
Potential Hint to Draft Priorities?
billsfan89 replied to glazeduck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think if WR is by far the best player on the board I wouldn't hate taking it. Sanders is a one year rental and I am not sure how many more years Beasley has left in the tank too. Diggs should have a few prime years left and Davis is young but still not fully comfortable with him as a WR2. There is a lot of longer term instability at the position. But I think the odds of a corner or Edge player not being there at a good value is fairly small. But it is nice to have options at pick 30. -
I like the idea of taking a freak athlete at DE, I have seen in recent years a lot of guys like JPP and Ziggy Ansah not be the most productive in college but get drafted because of their athletic profiles and go on to have good pro careers. So overall I am not too opposed to drafting a player on athletic profile. I do think corner wouldn’t be a bad place to go either. I just like the high ceiling you can get possibly at pick 30.
-
Would love to see this pick at 30. 30 is where you take a chance on a freak athlete and guys with exceptional athletic ability (Josh, Edumonds and Oliver) seem to be right up the team's alley. I think short term he can have a nice impact rolling off of the bench in situations and long term has DE1 "war daddy" potential. Fill out other depth and roster needs like CT, NT and OT in round 2-5. Get a freak edge rusher at 30 and take a chance.

Bojo to Rams (update - traded to Packers)

It is possible that it was more than business reasons, as you are correct that comment is odd.
