  1. Big deal they could probably just have awnings on the bench.
  2. The Eagles are playing Madden style GM in real life. Love it.
  3. The NFL's compensatory picks calculation is horrendously retarded. The fact that the Lions losing a player like Suh carries the same weight as them signing a player to a 1 year 4 million dollar deal shows what's wrong with the system. There is no context in the NFL's system. They need to switch to a system that factors in size of contracts, more so money in money out. The Bills front office should lobby to change the system as the Pats*, Steelers, and Ravens all seem to know how to benefit from the system.
  4. I forgot about Cockrell, I was mainly thinking of bringing in a corner in the late rounds to compete with Brooks but Brooks and Cockrell should be plenty of competition
  5. I wouldn't mind drafting a corner in round 5. The team goes 4 deep at corner with Gilmore, Graham, McKelvin, and Robey which is good but teams do need a 5th corner to achieve maximum depth (With how often teams play 3 and 4 corner sets). Brooks isn't a bad 5th corner but I think drafting on late isn't a bad way to spend a pick.
  6. Ryan puts his corners in a lot of man coverage without much safety and linebacker coverage. He basically dials up the pressure with very exotic blitzes and then has his corners lock down one on one. It's why Revis and Chromartie were so important to his defenses.
  7. Defense could use some depth. I would be happy if the team could sign both Spikes and Landry with the remaining 4+ million in cap space. Having a vet option at SS and a physical force at MLB would round out the D nicely. The the team can use the draft to build up the offense.
  8. Shady and Clay out the backfield along with Sammy and Woods split wide with Harvin in the slot would make for a very versatile talent team. Clay can block as a fullback so having Clay in the backfield doesn't dial it in as a pass. But you have two players that could legit catch the ball out the backfield and then having 3 wideouts all of whom you have to account for spread out the field. Only question is will the O-line and QB hold up.
  9. Well they weren't going to fire Marrone after just one season. So it's kind of a moot point. Still I think having Schwartz with last years defense was better than Pettine, Pettine's scheme was very aggressive but it also resulted in huge running lanes as players were shooting gaps and over pursuing.
  10. Harvin needs to stay healthy. He is a versatile potentially explosive offensive weapon. But his main issues has always been staying on the field and being an issue in the locker room.
  11. Only thing is he is very limited. He hasn't played well against better defense esp in the playoffs. Granted I think the trade market for him would be very good but it's not exactly the best option.
  12. Context of stats is very important. When your defense is really good and your offense is limited it's going to lead to more conservative calls.
  13. Unless they had a QB on a rookie deal they wouldn't have the same roster if they were paying 20+ million to a QB. It would be very hard to pay the big bucks along the D-line and at other positions if the team had to have a huge cap hit from a franchise QB. So everything is relative.
  14. Right now this team needs a guard badly and could use upgrades at other positions. Trading down to pick up extra picks in the mid rounds isn't a bad idea if there isn't a highly coveted player of need there. But in the mid second round you aren't going to trade down and get too many other picks other than a 3rd rounder or lower.
  15. I don't know if EJ will develop into a top 10 franchise QB but I don't know why he can't develop into a solid game manager. He has solid tools, some experience, and doesn't need to do all that much to make it work.
  16. Rex seems like the type of coach where it's going to be fun for the first 2-3 years and then the crash is spectacular. Players coaches seem to be that way in general, good initial boost but a bad downfall as they tend to lose the locker room towards the end.
  17. Nah I doubt it. Why would he agree to such terms with a team he wouldn't be playing for. Face it odds are he isn't available.
  18. Pass, just draft a guard in round 2 or wait for the Saints to cut him. The team can't afford the cap hit and I doubt Evans would agree to restructure. But if Evans gets cut make a play for him.
  19. I think the Bills were the weakest QB situation for Taylor to land. He actually could get a look to be the starter and I wouldn't be surprised to see Roman run some sort of read option wildcat funky type plays for him.
  20. Gronk is such a !@#$ing meathead somehow I don't fully hate him, maybe it's just because of how dumb and unaware he is.
  21. Weird, wounder if NYC was the venue would the decisions by both QB's be different? I highly doubt it has anything to do with it being in Chicago. But it doesn't really matter enough prospects will be there to get their photo op and victory lap.
  22. I don't think anyone has ever said rookie OL never come in early and produce. A lot of times OL esp guards and centers come in and play very nicely right out the box. I think what most here have said is that rookie OL aren't always plug and play positions. That sometimes a lot of players in all positions take a year or two to develop. Each player is different and not everyone is ready right out of college to come in and play. Sometimes players have to work on their craft in game and overtime even if they have the physical tools.
  23. Good to see EJ putting the work in. He could easily win games with this defense and the weapons around him (Assuming a upgrade to the O-line via the draft). Overall I say that he might not need to be a great QB to win with this team, he just needs to develop into the best version of himself.
  24. Hopefully they don't have to give him 19 million a year like Suh. As good as Suh and Dareus are it's a lot of money to commit to a DT. As valuable as DT's are controlling the run game and collapsing the pocket in pass rushing they aren't worth paying nearly as much as a QB would command. But if they can get his number down to 14-15 million more in line with McCoy that would seem to be a fair value considering how much he anchors the D-line.
  25. I don't think the teams current cap space allows for them to take on a big salary like Evan Mathis (Who is seeking a raise). But there is modest room to scoop up a couple of veteran players still out there to be had for modest salaries. I would try to get Brandon Spikes back and sign Dwan Landry. As good as the defense is, it could still use some more depth. Spikes and Landry provide Rex two very good depth pieces and role players to the defense. Landry competes with Duke Williams and provides a solid option in case of injury. Spikes provides a run stuffing power LB in an early down role and gives the MLB position depth. Good teams have depth and right now the team should make moves to add depth. You could find a guard in round 2 and you could address other needs in round 3. The team doesn't need to trade away more picks to find answers. However the team can find useful depth pieces on the market right now for a modest price.
