  1. Pour out some money to Fred Davis and a top tier WR. I know its wishful thinking but I think we can go defense in this draft and then trade for a QB and sign some targets. David Nelson will come back and be solid in the slot, Stevie is a stud, but we need someone else. Also I like Chandler at TE but I think we could use some depth there and a receiving threat. Davis coming off an injury should be relatively cheap.
  2. Moss is a serviceable player but I don't see him wanting to come here nor do I think he would have been the right guy. Moss is not the Randy Moss of old. He is decent down field but he is far from what he use to be at age 35-36
  3. The outrage is laughable, people are mad Lewis isn't going to get punished for it. But how can you punish a guy who is retiring and using the appeals process to keep it from keeping him out of the super bowl? Its his last game you can't keep him out of it unless you have full proof evidence and it complies with the appeals process.
  4. Suan Alexander was one of the best running backs in the NFL for half a decade. He was a two time All-Pro. Urlacher and John Abraham were probably the only other players who had really successful NFL careers. But that draft was pretty meh outside of Brady being a late rounder. 2002 was probably one of the most ****ty drafts as well.
  5. Maybe its the environment Kaepernick was put into as opposed to Kaepernick? They had him sit a year behind Alex Smith, get comfortable with the system and have him take some snaps here and there. As this season went along they inserted him more and more. Then they put him in and he had success behind a great D, great coach, and a really good supporting offensive cast. They signed Moss and Manningham and already had guys like Crabtree, Gore, and Davis. They had a great O-line and a great defense. The way you groom a QB is just as important as who the QB is. Its astonishing how some people don't get this.
  6. The new coaching may actually help Alex. The Jets ran a lot of complex fronts and they put guys in positions to get mismatches. And the guys most helped by their defense were usually bigger guys with quickness and versatility. I think Carrington will be helped, it helps that he played in both 3-4 and 4-3 alignments.
  7. Its going to depend on how Flacco plays in the Super Bowl. Flacco puts up big numbers and the Ravens win I think he has a case for a big deal. He stinks up the joint or plays so so then all he did was get the Ravens one game father then he got them in the past. Its a sticky situation for the Ravens. You have a team that's going to lose a lot of defensive and supporting talent or lose their QB who took them to a Super Bowl and they had success with (I know Baltimore is going to franchise Flacco but if they don't come to a conclusive deal could they trade him) Overall its tough I would think the Ravens don't mind giving him a deal north of 15 million but 20 per would be hard for a team already up against the cap.
  8. Funny, I thought this was about the idea of drafting Johnny Football 8th overall even though he wasn't in the draft. Kind of like what the Celtics did with Larry Bird. Which if possible isn't the worst idea but that's completely against the NFL drafts rules.
  9. 2008 Pollard was the guy that blew out Brady's knee that ended their chance to follow up their perfect regular season 2009 he was the guy that tore Welkers ACL that killed their chances in the playoffs 2011 he hurt Gronks ankle which was a key factor for the Giants upset in that Super Bowl 2012 he injures Ridley and causes a fumble that ended their chances for a fumble Pollard has a knack for injuring Pats* and is a pretty good player. If the Ravens are in a lot of cap hell and are willing to trade him I wouldn't be opposed to it. But I don't think Pollard's contract is unreasonable so I doubt the Ravens are looking to trade him.
  10. kick the tires leave no stone unturned I guess.
  11. I wouldn't mind taking a tight end by trading back a few spots (Maybe recoup the third you would give up in trying to get Flynn) but WR's picked in the later rounds tend to have less of an impact their rookie years. Unless its a Megatron or AJ Green WR's usually don't have mega impact year one. I think if you want to help the WR position next season you need a proven player.
  12. These early mocks are useless, don't put too much stock in them. The combine and the seemingly endless draft process will change the draft board a lot. I like the Bills to go after a QB they see is worth it and go hard after a WR in free agency then spend the second rounder on a LB. WR is a huge need and if there isn't one at pick 8 or they want a QB at pick 8 I hope they realize that they need to invest big dollars at WR esp if there is one player there worth it like Bowe from KC. I personally like the idea of trading for Matt Flynn (A third rounder no more than that) and using the top two picks to address other needs. That's mostly because I like Flynn better than I like the QB's in the draft and think we could use the picks better elsewhere.
  13. Been saying Dareus personal issues may have played a factor along with playing in a new defense, I expect big things from Dareus he tempered a lot of concerns with his improved play
  14. I don't know the specific players in the draft so I can't comment on what players I would like but I would like to see the Bills get a prime WR at pick 8, and then go grab a impact LB in round 2, and use their third rounder to trade for Matt Flynn to solve their QB situation. Any QB needs better weapons and our D needs Linebackers, and I am not sold on this QB class so out of all the free agent/trade possibilities I like Flynn the best. In free agency we can shop to further fill out the LB position and fill out the roster.
  15. The Eagles moved Kelly... TO A BIGGER HOUSE. I think the Eagles are a good fit for Kelly they have a lot of speed talent on offense and some talent on defense. They have a high draft choice too which is always appealing for a coach to build a roster.
  16. IF McClain is released from the Raiders (Which seems like a good possibility) should the Bills be interested in kicking the tires on the guy? I mean he showed a lot of promise but hasn't panned out. That could be due to a toxic situation in Oakland. The guy is also a bit of a problem off the field. I know the typical reaction would be to say no simply because he was drafted high and we have heard of him doesn't mean we should sign him. Or the other side will be well I have heard of the guy so we should sign him. I think bringing him in as a back up with zero guarantee might be good for him, make him hungry to play and tap that potential. But its hard to say he wouldn't be a cancer in the locker room. I think if you can get him at his most desperate and sign him to a contract were you can release him at any point it might be worth a shot. I guess if you got the right deal it is worth a shot.
  17. Pass I am not really a believer in drafting a linebacker in the top 10 philosophy.unless he is going to be a game changer. Getting a "Solid" MLB with the 8th overall pick just isn't worth it. When you pick a LB number 8 he better be a Patrick Willis or Clay Matthews type who can dominate the game. This pick would be kind of like the Aaron Curry/AJ Hawk type player who is either a bust or above average at his position. I would take a chance on the guy in the second as he fits our need but 8th no way.
  18. I think he is more a 3-4 player, if we plan on using that front a lot I wouldn't mind it but I just don't see it happening.
  19. The NFL coaching ranks are a frat tons of cronyism but I like the hire good quality defensive mind
  20. Yeah I would want Flynn but not at an unreasonable cost. Outside of Flacco Flynn is the only trade or free agent QB I would want.
  21. Smith is gonna get cut, I can't see a team giving up more than a mid rounder. Smith is a game manager type, very smart, not turnover prone. But no team is going to give up a big pick for the guy. 49ers could release him I think its likely.
  22. No, its not bothering anyone (I haven't heard any major outcry about it in a long time), I think the term is/was racist but the slur is no longer relevant (Its probably not really been used as a racist slur commonly since the beginning of the 20th century) so why bother. Changing the name is only going to give the term power, leave it alone I don't even know that there is really a big outrage about it anymore.
  23. Dick Jauron maybe the worst coach ever to have had two non-intern head coaching jobs in NFL history. His tenure with the Bears was a bunch of **** with one winning season which was marked by a bunch of fluke wins and a 0-1 playoff performance. He then went to Buffalo were he pulled 3 straight 7-9 seasons and a 3-6 start before getting his ass booted. Gailey at least had his only 2 seasons in Dallas be winning seasons, I can't think of any head coaches that had two stints that were worse than Jauron.
  24. I would bring him back for the right price. Good return man and a very seductive player (Great physical capabilities, shows flashes of brilliance, and his weak points seem correctable) but its been 5 seasons (08, 09, 10, 11, 12) we know what we have with McKelvin for the most part. Yes he is still young and yeah the skills are there. But you have to set your price and stick to it I say 4-5 million 3-4 year deal nothing gauranteed beyond the first year. Sadly because there will be some team that could use a return man and thinks they got what it takes to correct him he will get paid in the 6-7 million dollar range for a 5+ year deal with a guarantee. Give him a fair offer and just leave it at that. He walks he walks. Its not a big loss.
  25. When Chan was first hired the perception was the Bills hired a third tier retread who got fired from a horrid Chiefs team. It wasn't until training camp his first year when he got good press because he was the opposite of Jauron but make no mistake Chan was not considered a good hire at the time. Marrone was actually wanted by other teams unlike Chan who was an unknown candidate with zero HC interest (no one thought he was a HC candidate). Only time will tell on Marrone
