  1. Kind of great to have a cap jump right when Josh's deal will be in full effect in 2023.
  2. Nice Yeldon replacement, good to have a "young vet" to push Moss and Singletary. The attention to detail on this roster is really strong.
  3. We saw the importance of an NT last year, but I will admit ignorance as to the top prospects that will likely be available. I am fully trusting in the valuation of McBenae and if they go BPA or edge rusher. For once it is great that the draft is not trying to be the biggest part of the off-season and trying to save the direction of the team.
  4. The pass rush last year in my opinion was average to slightly above average. I don't think the pass rush was necessarily bad last year. My issue is that to have success consistently in the playoffs you need a very good or better pass rush, esp against Patrick Mahomes. I am not sure if they even draft an edge at pick 30 that an edge rusher is going to have a big enough impact year one to take a decent/solid pass rush and get it to improve dramatically.
  5. I see an NT as having a big impact as I am not really sure of Star this upcoming season, first off one injury to Star and this team has no proven NT, secondly even if Star turns in a decent season depth is needed. I think the NT position is a far bigger need than some here realize. The developmental pass rusher part is more so a longer term need fill and not immediate impact.
  6. I think the key word for this draft is impact. This team retained a 13 win talent base but now it needs to find those last 2 to 3 pieces needed to get this team over the top. At picks 30 and 62 along with the rest of their selections it is going to be difficult to get the impact they need out of an Edge rusher. Rarely do edge rushers click in their first years even ones drafted up high. I think if I am the Bills I am targeting an NT at pick 30 and a DE at pick 62. A true run stuffing NT with some pass rush upside is something that should be available at pick 30 and can help the team short and long term. Then at pick 62 you take a chance on a pass rusher who can help take over once Hughes and Addison are gone. Round 3 I dip into what is supposed to be a deep tackle class and draft some depth for the Oline and just take depth pieces in round 5 to round out the team.
  7. I think WR’s just think the Ravens have a hard time passing to WR’s so it makes them less attractive as a destination. The Ravens likely are going to spend an early pick at WR to bolster that position maybe even their first two draft choices.
  8. I agree, I was just pointing out the ridiculousness of the pessimism of some.
  9. They also seem to think Diggs wasn't the worst move but that we massively overpaid.
  10. Ed to me isn’t a run stuffer. He can do that role decently but he isn’t at his best when having to do that. I think of Ed as more of an interior pass rusher who can play decent against the run. I think at pick 30 of an edge rusher isn’t there at a good value then a big space eating DT that can push the pocket makes sense if one is available.
  11. The USA should have a gun license system. In order to buy and own a gun you need a license. In order to get a license you need to pass a background test, mental health evaluation and take basic gun safety and training courses. Every 5 years you have to renew and pass the same mental health evaluation and get a refresher on your training. On top of that any gun sale has a waiting period and requires its own background check. In addition gun owners require liability insurance. If that’s the vetting system in place you won’t get rid of all gun crime and mass shootings but you make the process of buying and owning guns much more of a responsibility and you likely would decrease the proliferation of guns and gun violence. You would also hopefully get a decrease in accidental deaths if you make sure every gun owner was educated on storage and how to handle a defensive situation. Seems like common sense to me.
  12. Any NT drafted in round 1 would have to have some pass rush upside but getting some help to the middle is looking to me like one of the areas that the draft can really have an immediate impact on.
  13. My struggle with drafting a pass rusher at 30 is, is there a pass rusher drafted 30th that can make a big impact? It isn’t an easy spot to find an impact pass rusher. Another poster pointed out that NT at 30 and DE in round 2 might be the better way to go since an NT can make more of an impact and be a longer term need fill, while DE at pick 62 can be a longer term need fill and has almost as equal a chance at panning out and making an impact as a De taken at pick 30.
  14. Ideally in the draft I would like to go D-line at pick 30, either a top DE or a true one tech. I then think in round 2 you can go BPA hopefully either a TE or CB that can make an impact. In round 3 I secure some Oline depth, preferably a tackle.
  15. I like this signing, I think he adds upside, depth and versatility to the D-line. I still would like to see a pass rusher or a big one tech added at pick 30 but this is a nice move. Makes me think that McBeane is going BPA in the draft
  16. The Fins are missing for the most part a QB. Watson is one of the best in the business. He would dramatically improve their chances. I would still favor the Bills even if the Fins get Watson but it would drastically close the gap as the Bills QB advantage would be nullified.
  17. Unless Miami trades for Watson the Bills should be the considerable favorites. They will have by far the best QB situation and a strong overall team. The Pats should be improved but without a QB they have massive limitations. The Fins made very little efforts to improve via free agency but they have a ton of draft picks. Once again tough team but without a QB they are limited. The Jets should be a bit tougher but are just starting a rebuild. Honestly barring a Watson trade I just don’t see any team being able to over come Josh with a solid supporting cast.
  18. After the by the team put together 4 games where they dominated almost wire to wire. Pats, Broncos, 49ers and Fins for sure. Light switch definitely went on.
  19. The other team wearing down the defense via the ground game was a very prominent issue in the third quarters if I am remembering correctly.
  20. I like Darnold but him being on the last year of his rookie deal makes him not fit the Jets rebuilding timeline. The Jets are best off drafting a rookie at pick 2 and trading Darnold for a pick or two and using those picks and their other picks to build around a rookie who will fit the Jets 3 year rebuild. Unless Darnold wants to sign a mini extension at a low ball rate I don’t see him fitting what they want to do which is a full on rebuild. I think Darnold can be a starter but he needs a different situation. I would like to see him end up on a team with a vet Qb in place and take over a better team in a year or two.
  21. I think this team is looking at trying to get a piece that makes an immediate impact in an area of need at pick 30, I don’t see WR being that area. Maybe at pick 62 they dip into building the depth and future of the team but at pick 30 I think the team tries to find an impact piece. I don’t think WR is very likely at pick 30 possible but highly unlikely.
  22. Nice, was not expecting Mac to return. Hopefully he can handle return duties.
  23. The Ravens desperately need something at WR, kicking the tires on Sammy they could do worse.
  24. Looking at the ex-Panther signings and they haven't been good. KB was a complete bust. Butler was pretty bad most of 2020 (although to be fair to him he was out of position and played solid to end the season), Addision was mediocre but not tragic in 2020, Tolbert was very forgettable, Norman was OK but a bit of a disappointment and Starr has been a solid player but massively overpaid. The only one that was a huge hit was D.Williams who panned out in spades. I am glad to see that there haven't been any this season. I do think the Addison, Butler, Norman and D.Williams signings last season were mostly fueled by Covid creating a lot of uncertainty around the off-season and McBeane going with guys they knew over unknown guys.
  25. The WFT and the Giants both have very good defenses. The Cowboys have the best QB in the division (most likely the only respectable QB in the division) and the Eagles stink. This is another season where 8 or 9 wins (out of 17 games) easily takes that trash division.
