  1. Rounds 1 and 2 I am going defense roughly BPA hopefully a pass rusher at 30 fits that mold. In round 2 I take an NT or CB to polish up the defense a bit more. In round 3 I go O-line find Ty's replacement and long term a replacement for Mongo or D.Williams. Then I go BPA round 5-7 just for depth and development. Nice to have a roster not missing all that much.
  2. Although I never hate an O-line pick for once I don't see the O-line being a massive need. I do think the Bills need some depth on the O-line. Assuming Ike is brought back they run about 7 deep on the O-line (Dawkins-Ford-Mitch-Mongo-D.Will as the starter and Ike and Bates off the bench) that's pretty solid but ideally you want to be 8 deep and adding a swing tackle in the draft is a good idea. But I don't think they need to do that in round 1. I think they dip in to the O-line pool in round 3 where they can fill a short term depth need and get some long term developmental prospect.
  3. I think they really want to use him and his versatility as a WR4. He takes pressure of off Davis who we can see if he is worthy of being a true WR2. Beasley and Sanders I hope both have one more year left in the tank and with Diggs as the WR1 and Davis and Mac as the younger options I think you see an elite WR corps for one more season. Hopefully Davis really does emerge as a solid WR2. That sets the WR corps up longer term.
  4. I wouldn’t hate going with Harris if he really is the best player on the board and there isn’t a trade down available. The number one need this team has is a pass rusher but at pick 30 that isn’t going to come easy. So if they think Harris adds a needed component to the offense then I am fine with it.
  5. 67 players before the draft. I suspect there will be 2 to 4 more added if Ike gets resigned and they add a few more depth or bargain shopping free agents. So likely going to enter into the draft with 70ish and then leaving the draft with 5 to 7 additional players leaving the team with around 75 players and then filling out the back 16 slots with UDFA’s. Seems right on track.
  6. Nice depth move, not going to be sexy but helps this team get a bit more depth where they were a bit thin.
  7. There isn’t a vet to be had. I would be all for trading a pick for a vet if one made sense. WR 1 was this teams biggest need going into 2020 and Diggs was out on the market and fit that mold. He was fairy young on a big but solid contract and the price was right for both parties. This off-season there just isn’t a big time player out there as far as a pass rusher. Draft a player there and hopefully you get a good talent that can be cost controlled for awhile.
  8. Mack simply isn't going to work cap wise, he also redid his deal to give the Bears some breathing room, so I doubt they wanted to trade him. It is unfortunate that there just wasn't a trade out there for a pass rusher like there was for Diggs. I would gladly have given up pick 30 among other selections to get a top pass rusher.
  9. Don't hate it. PFF (which I think is most useful for O-line/D-line grading) gave him a decent grade last year (fringe starter caliber player) the best of his career on 800+ snaps. I trust the staff, I like that they aren't slacking on the o-line. I was hoping they would go out and draft an OT in round 3 for depth/development but a decent vet isn't the worst way to try and replace Ty.
  10. Judon didn't fit the scheme and Watt in my opinion got vastly overpaid and isn't worth anywhere close to what he got. Usually good edge players hit free agency and get massively overpaid (as is the case with most positions) but the great ones get tagged. I just didn't see an Edge player that it would have made sense to overpay. I don't see Lawson or any other good edge player being a difference maker on this team to the point where that player would be the last piece needed and being that much better than what the Bills currently have. I think if there was an elite talent available via trade the Bills would have been in on it like they were with Diggs. But there simply wasn't that trade available for the Bills and they shifted focus to retaining their talent and going towards the draft to add the pieces needed. This team could still add Daquan Jones who is an NT and could come cheaper than Tomlinson and be about as effective.
  11. I didn’t really see too many great Dline players in free agency this year. There were some good ones but I didn’t really see any game changers that switched teams. Shaq Barrett and Leonard Williams resigned with their teams. Carl Lawson and Dupree were good players but not elite difference makers. Trey Hendrickson had a breakout year but wasn’t really doing much until a contract year. The rest of the market weren’t really guys I would break the bank for. Clowny and DaQuan Jones are still players out on the market that can play a role and be had much cheaper. I suspect McBeane will go out on the market for one more vet to add to the mix and draft an Edge at pick 30. There just wasn’t a free agent or trade target that in my opinion made sense.
  12. For a proven stud QB like Russell Wilson or Watson (pre-legal issues) you almost can't give up too many picks. To trade up in the draft is a gamble but one type of gamble that is needed as you have to take a chance on finding a cheap QB who can anchor a franchise for 15+ years and be super valuable the first 5 years. As for trading for mid-level or even upper mid-level QB's like Matthew Stafford teams are absolutely overpaying.
  13. I think this is more of a marginal signing. The Bills need a big run stuffer at DT not a pass rusher. They have Ed Oliver, V.Butler and H.Phillips to fill that role. I don't see this as a big get for KC either.
  14. Would like this addition. He was rated pretty good by PFF for what that is worth and Titans fans rave about the guy being an under appreciated player. I think this would be a very good addition. As much as I think Star can make a difference I think coming off a year where he didn't play it might be a good idea to sign a player that can be a high end player behind him. Not only to have an NT that can rotate but for depth. H.Phillips in my mind being Star's backup doesn't make sense. I loved what Phillips brought in 2019 but after he got hurt 5 games in he wasn't the same in 2020. Better to have a decent NT on the roster behind Star as opposed to just relying on him. This would remind me of the Spain deal in 2019. A possibly cheap player that can come in and start at a decent to above average level. I am surprised so many are no on board with this. In 2019 Star really turned it on the back 6-7 games of the season. After H.Phillips went down against the Titans the Bills run defense went into a big funk and then suddenly the run defense was really good and a lot of that was behind Star's improved play. I have no idea what the Bills will get with Star in 2021. I think getting a good NT behind him in case he stinks is a good idea.
  15. This Watson situation is a mess. I thought the Texans would simply lose out on him and trade him by the draft to a team willing to empty out their picks. The Jets with pick 2 and 23 along with a pair of firsts in 2022 were in a position to make a very good offer. Four first round picks that includes a 2nd overall pick among some other throw in picks and pick swaps was a good offer. The Fins had 3 picks in the top 35 including the third overall pick (until they traded down) plus the ability to add their own future firsts. But now that Watson is facing legal issues I am not sure the trade offers will be what makes sense for the Texans and they are going to be more willing to hold him hostage if the Jets, Fins and other teams are unwilling to make a big Godfather offer. I don't think this gets resolved anytime soon. I thought the Fins were trading down with the 49ers to position themselves to draft in this year's draft and still make an offer for Watson down the line. But them losing one of the Niners picks to get back up to 6 makes me think that is less of a possibility as now they only have one of those picks to use in a package. Overall things are just odd and I have no clue what will happen.
  16. I don’t hate their compensation. They will have an extra first in 2023 and an extra third in 2021 for three draft spots. That extra future first allows the Fins to keep flexibility for a future trade up if Tua is a bust while also helping their current fortunes by staying in a position to still get an elite talent in this years draft. It wasn’t a huge haul but it was a good gain that makes sense for them.
  17. Darnold just doesn’t fit a rebuild given his contract. The Jets need to start over.
  18. Wayyyyyyy too early to tell how easy or hard a schedule actually is. The NFL is far too volatile a league to determine just how easy or hard a schedule is. Last year the schedule was so brutal yet this team didn’t have as many difficult matchups as thought due to various factors.
  19. Seems sensible for both. The Ravens needed something at WR and Sammy didn’t have many options. I suspect the Ravens still go WR with one their first two picks but this helps them get some help outside.
  20. The NFL is far too volatile to say any team is picking late 2 years from now.
  21. Seems like a solid Roberts replacement. Like it.
  22. They have to land a QB. As good as it is to have all these picks it still won’t matter unless they hit on a QB.
  23. I have to think that the 49ers are going to draft a QB and are likely looking at recouping some draft capital by trading Jimmy G. I have to think that they have a trade to get back at least one first rounder for Jimmy G. But then again teams are throwing around first round picks like candy.
  24. Assuming this team resigns Ike this team will have seven solid Oline players (Mitch, Dawkins, Mongo, Ford, Bates, Ike, and D.Williams) and it is good to see Bates not settle for a backup role and push other guys on the roster. Hopefully this team can add one more depth Oline player as I do feel that this team is short a swing tackle due to the Ty departure.
