  1. I think in the first quarter they see how the Dline plays on Mahomes and force Mahomes to be patient taking away Kelce via double teams and Hill deep by playing two deep zone. Let the other WR’s beat you short. If the Dline can’t get pressure then I think they dial up the blitzes and just take chances or play back and let the defense surrender short yardage and play for field goals in the redzone.
  2. They are a solid team one that I think could take a wildcard spot in a fairly weak NFC. Darnold is a solid QB, Moore and Anderson are a good WR combo and CMC when healthy is dynamic and their defense is solid. Not sure where they go long term as while I think Darnold might be a very good QB I can also see him falling into the Derrick Carr range of QB above average but not really elite unless he has elite players around him which is hard to sustain.
  3. His extension was pretty reasonably priced, but yes if he constantly has injury issues that of course limits his value. The question in my mind would be how limited would Milano be? If he is so limited that he is going to have to play limited snaps and be possibly less effective and risk a greater injury setback is it not better to just sit him out?
  4. Problem is McD plays a zone heavy scheme no? I remember in 2017 when they let Gilmore walk the reasoning was that he wasn’t a fit for the scheme as Gilmore was more of a man to man corner. I don’t see that as having changed. I just don’t see the fit here. This team could use another body at corner but I just don’t see this being the right fit.
  5. I think he sits against KC, as big as this KC game is I don’t see the team risking him long term for a game in early October. I could be wrong but it isn’t like Klein is a bad option off the bench.
  6. McD had his chance to franchise or resign Gilmore and he didn’t because he felt like he wasn’t a fit for the scheme. I doubt 5 years later in a season where he started on the PUP he is going to suddenly change his mind on Gilmore’s scheme fit. The chances of Gilmore coming here are slim based off that alone. But I agree with your post that if somehow they change their mind this regime has earned the trust of the fan base. I could see Tampa or Carolina. KC is always a possibility too. Hoping he goes to Carolina as I don’t want to see him on a contender either.
  7. I haven’t seen too much of Hockenson play so I don’t know if that comparison is apt. Knox plays in a way that is fun to see and one that is such a fantastic complement to the WR core. He takes a lot of short passes and over the middle throws that blend in well with the passing game.
  8. Great to see him get some recognition nationally. His haters can suck a lemon for a week.
  9. Officiating in every sport has a high degree of subjectivity. It will never be an exact science. I think the players just simply prefer consistency. If refs are consistent the players will get a feel and know how to play.
  10. Seems like a lot of issues on and off the field. I think he won’t be out of work for long. I could see a lot of different teams offering him a one year deal.
  11. I don’t know what Knox’s ceiling is. He reminds me of a poor mans George Kittle when he is going good. I can’t think of another TE he reminds me of. He is a powerful player but not a Gronk toss it over the middle and jump up and get it type receiver either.
  12. Taking an early temperature of this team's longer term needs I would say that in round 1 the positions targeted are likely going to be DT, Guard, WR or possibly in the secondary. I see guard as a possible need if they can't figure out a capable guard between Mongo and Ike this season or if D.Williams can't kick inside. I also think they might go WR as Beasley is long in the tooth and Sanders might be one and done. DT and secondary are also longer term defensive needs where they might have a BPA pick. Still such a long way to go but the team is in a good position to stock up long term at future positions of need or fill one of a few holes.
  13. Don't you have to be vaccinated to attend a game?
  14. I think Beasley is a grade A moron for his Covid takes. But when he is on the field I root for him and no one should boo him for that. Beasley isn't that influential of a public figure nor is he setting public policy. Just let him move on and live with his idiocy.
  15. The NFL is loaded with quality young QB's. In the AFC alone you have Mahomes, Herbert, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson all performing at high levels (and if Deshaun Watson ever comes back that's another MVP caliber beast.) Then you have Burrow and Baker Mayfield who have shown stretches of good play and potential. Then of course you have the 2021 rookies who are still developing, Lawrence, Mac Jones, and Zack Wilson. That's 5 (including Watson) high MVP caliber QB's in the AFC age 26 or younger. Another 2 QB's playing a fairly high level and 3 more highly drafted rookies breaking in. Then in the NFC you have Kyler Murray who is killing it at an MVP level and Darnold showing some improved play too. I don't think I have ever seen 6 young QB's playing at an MVP level in the NFL like this ever. That's in addition to QB's still in their primes like Russell Wilson and vets like Aaron Rodger and Brady. The best time ever for QB play in my opinion.
  16. Bills also have Miss healthy for this game and Moss brings a physical presence to the running game. Agree with everything you said but I also think Diggs, Davis and Beasley being healthy will help the offense. In the AFCCG last year all the WR’s were banged up and it made it impossible for the offense to move the ball. This time in addition to hopefully having more physicality this team has the skill position players healthy and ready to go.
  17. Jalen and Jacoby are OK, not my cup of tea but I get how someone can enjoy them. I think in general ESPN is not as bad as the narrative that’s out there. Yes ESPN is not that great and a far cry from what it used to be when it was the epicenter of the sports and sports commentary world. But there some solid commentators and analysis on ESPN. If you read a lot of opinions on the internet you would think all of ESPN is just trash. I am glad the internet has opened up sports commentary for anyone with a few hounded dollars in equipment and some know how. YouTube has completely broken the sports commentary/punditry world open. But that’s not to say that there isn’t some decent personalities on ESPN.
  18. Power rankings in the NFL are just good fun. Loving the Bills getting the attention but I think right now the Bills are going to see exactly how good they are against KC.
  19. That's my hope too, he has been one of if not the best player on the defense so far and not having him against KC would be a blow.
  20. The Bills really just took care of business against the Texans. The only minor complaint is that the Bills offense did have some redzone struggles but they completely closed the door in the second half and consistently moved the ball all game. The defense put on one of the best performances you will see and the special teams was solid. Even the backups played well when they got plenty of garbage time. They pile up to 3-1 going into a tough two game stretch. Hopefully they can get past KC and really establish that they can beat a quality team and not just beat up on the mid level or lower teams.
  21. I would imagine almost everyone on the defense graded out fantastic. I can't think of a single player that didn't have a productive game on the defensive side of the ball.
  22. It is a lot of pressure to have Belichick as your father. I would be pissed if I were McDaniels and I didn't get the job after Belichick retires.
  23. If Billy B was my dad I probably wouldn't end up well adjusted. Honestly these kids of coaches must really not see their dads a lot. From late July to January/February or about 6ish months out of the year they are nowhere to be found as they are working 16+ hour days and then even in the off-season they have weeks/months at a time where they working heavy hours (drafting, free agency, mini-camps and other off-season events) so even in the 6 months of the year where it isn't football season you hardly see your dad. Don't get me wrong it comes with other benefits but it certainly can be difficult too.
  24. KC is still a dangerous team and in my opinion the biggest threat in the AFC. KC is 2-2 while not tragic not exactly the record you expect from a contending team. But their two losses were both in close games to a very good Ravens team and a good Chargers team. That's not exactly a bad resume of losses. In my opinion if the Bills want to get the lone bye week in the AFC (which is such a huge advantage) they need to win this game. It would bury KC effectively 3 games behind the Bills as they would be 2 games back in the loss column and lose the tie breaker. Mentally I think beating KC would also be a very advantageous for the Bills. With an away game in KC we will know exactly where the Bills stand in terms of how good they are. They have beaten up on 3 bad to average teams. Let's see exactly how they handle a true contender on the road.
  25. Any regime will have busts. Oliver, Knox and Singletary coming out of that class is pretty solid. Typically you want to keep getting at least 2-3 starters each draft. Ideally 4 plus a role player or two but if you keep finding multiple starters you will sustain success. I think they either trade Ford for a late round pick in camp or simply keep him as a backup in 2022. It's not what you want from a high second round pick but the regime will survive it.
