  1. That roughing the passer call on Clark was BS but the Ed Oliver one on fourth down was almost as suspect and on top of that there was a really bad holding call on Mitch the play before that would have given the Bills a first down. You can moan about that call but do not act as through the refs were so one sided. The Bills outright owned this game and despite bad calls on both sides they deserved the win.
  2. Al never bothers me for some reason. Despite his old man yelling at cloud demeanor I never really find any issue with him. I think him being around forever has created a sense of gravitas in my mind associated with him. Collinsworth just stinks outright.
  3. I think it was super fortunate that no major coaches/coordinators were poached from the Bills. Having Daboll and all the major components of the staff back for another season has created a rare sense of continuity that just doesn't exist in the modern NFL. McD and this team are definitely running on all cylinders. The team is coming off its fourth straight 3 possession win and this time it comes against a good team on the road. I know Chris Jones being out puts a damper on it a bit but hey everyone has people missing. You had a fluky delay and you still didn't let anything fluky happen.
  4. That Roughing the passer call really bailed out the Bills when the game was still in doubt. That being said I would have to look at how the game was called in terms of consistency. That's what the players and coaches want from officiating. Officiating in almost any sport has a high degree of subjectivity and the NFL is no different. However the key is to call a game consistently. If you are calling a game tight the whole way through then that's fine the players and coaches will adjust knowing that you are calling it tight. If you are letting things go let them go the whole way through. This game felt like it was being called tight the whole way which is fine but I think you would have to review each play to really know.
  5. He is a very unsung hero type of player on this defense.
  6. I always favor going after up and coming coordinators as opposed to retreads. So I liked the McD hire personally. I thought it was the right move philosophically to try and catch lighting in a bottle with an up and coming coach as opposed to chasing someone proven. I think the fans liked the idea of the coordinator route but were unsure of McD’s track record which was a good but far from great DC coaching under a defensive coach. The media was lukewarm not calling it a bad hire but questioning if it was the teams best option.
  7. Love it, he is an underrated part of the defense.
  8. This is a nothing story, Gruden made some unsavory comments 10 years ago and has apologized.
  9. The structure of the deal as other posters have mentioned basically makes it a one year deal with an option to pick up the rest as they can get out of the contract after 2022 with a small dead cap hit. It is the type of deal that benefits both sides. It looks foolish on the surface but digging into the details it is a sensible deal.
  10. Dallas was a big game that season as it was a game that all but clinched a playoff spot (it pushed them to 9-3 with a tough schedule ahead) and put the Bills on the map on national television. But the Bills do need that big road statement win. KC would be a good place to start.
  11. 35-28 Buffalo, it is difficult to win a shoot out but the Bills prove to themselves that they can win against KC. I think the difference in this game vs the AFC title game is going to be two fold. The first and obvious one is that the Bills WR’s are healthy. Going into the AFCCG John Brown was battling an ankle injury all year, Cole Beasley had a broken leg and Gabe Davis got dinged up in the Ravens game the week before. Diggs then got hurt early in the game. Having healthy receivers would make it possible for the Bills to score more and at least give them a chance to win a shootout. Secondly I think the Bills come into this game able to be more physical and mentally tough. In the ground game they will have Moss who was hurt last year. I also think Spencer Brown being there adds physicality to the Oline. In addition I think Sanders adds a mental toughness, physicality and vet presence that wasn’t there before. Then on defense I think you have a much more physical Dline. Star up the middle is an impact maker and the younger guys like Rousseau, Aj and Basham are also there and could make a difference. Overall hoping to see the Bills make that matchup in physicality that they didn’t last year for various reasons.
  12. Bills are going to likely have to at a minimum score 28 points to win. I think the key is to take what KC gives you and control the clock. A patient gameplan that prods the defense early and establishes the run is likely the way to go. See how KC is playing you and attack it.
  13. I was hearing at the time that he wanted to be paid like a top punter in the league and the Bills just didn’t value him that way and we’re willing to pay him below his ask. No idea if that’s true but I think with how quickly they moved to sign Hackk it is probably clear Bojo wanted top dollar or out of Buffalo. Just frustrating that they both messed up the market.
  14. It is also odd and frustrating to me that neither side really got what they wanted. The Bills paid just under 2 million a year for Hackk the Rams only paid a one year 1 million dollar contract for Bojo. The Bills got a lesser punter for more money and Bojo got way less than he wanted. I don't think Hackk is a bad punter but he is average at best whereas Bojo is one of the better punters in the league.
  15. I really wish they found a way to keep Bojo, Hakk hasn’t been bad but he hasn’t been a upper level punter either. I get that Bojo’s demands might have been unreasonable but I really wish both sides could have come together on a deal.
  16. I think in the first quarter they see how the Dline plays on Mahomes and force Mahomes to be patient taking away Kelce via double teams and Hill deep by playing two deep zone. Let the other WR’s beat you short. If the Dline can’t get pressure then I think they dial up the blitzes and just take chances or play back and let the defense surrender short yardage and play for field goals in the redzone.
  17. They are a solid team one that I think could take a wildcard spot in a fairly weak NFC. Darnold is a solid QB, Moore and Anderson are a good WR combo and CMC when healthy is dynamic and their defense is solid. Not sure where they go long term as while I think Darnold might be a very good QB I can also see him falling into the Derrick Carr range of QB above average but not really elite unless he has elite players around him which is hard to sustain.
  18. His extension was pretty reasonably priced, but yes if he constantly has injury issues that of course limits his value. The question in my mind would be how limited would Milano be? If he is so limited that he is going to have to play limited snaps and be possibly less effective and risk a greater injury setback is it not better to just sit him out?
  19. Problem is McD plays a zone heavy scheme no? I remember in 2017 when they let Gilmore walk the reasoning was that he wasn’t a fit for the scheme as Gilmore was more of a man to man corner. I don’t see that as having changed. I just don’t see the fit here. This team could use another body at corner but I just don’t see this being the right fit.
  20. I think he sits against KC, as big as this KC game is I don’t see the team risking him long term for a game in early October. I could be wrong but it isn’t like Klein is a bad option off the bench.
  21. McD had his chance to franchise or resign Gilmore and he didn’t because he felt like he wasn’t a fit for the scheme. I doubt 5 years later in a season where he started on the PUP he is going to suddenly change his mind on Gilmore’s scheme fit. The chances of Gilmore coming here are slim based off that alone. But I agree with your post that if somehow they change their mind this regime has earned the trust of the fan base. I could see Tampa or Carolina. KC is always a possibility too. Hoping he goes to Carolina as I don’t want to see him on a contender either.
  22. I haven’t seen too much of Hockenson play so I don’t know if that comparison is apt. Knox plays in a way that is fun to see and one that is such a fantastic complement to the WR core. He takes a lot of short passes and over the middle throws that blend in well with the passing game.
  23. Great to see him get some recognition nationally. His haters can suck a lemon for a week.
  24. Officiating in every sport has a high degree of subjectivity. It will never be an exact science. I think the players just simply prefer consistency. If refs are consistent the players will get a feel and know how to play.
