  1. Some fans are just impossible to please.
  2. A loss stings (and it was an extra big sting for me as it caused me to lose my fantasy football game) but in the end the Bills lost a road shootout to a good team. They lost basically because they couldn't execute a QB sneak late in the game.
  3. The decision to go for it on 4th down in a road game shootout is absolutely the right decision. But the QB sneak play call was questionable in my opinion. The Bills had trouble in the past with QB sneaks and Josh had if I remember correctly had failed to convert one earlier in the game. I would preferred they done a different type of play call in that situation but going for it? Absolutely the right call even if it didn't work out.
  4. The Bills turned the game into a 50/50 shootout (most shootouts in the NFL are a 50/50 type situation) when they could pile up a big lead and turn the Titans into a passing team. They turned an opportunity for a 14-0 or at least 10-0 lead early into a meager 6-0 lead. The Titans gameplan is to keep the game close and let King Henry (who in my opinion should be an MVP candidate and is a fantastic talent) wear down the defense and turn the Titans to utilize their physical receivers in play action and single coverage. Despite the shootout the Bills still had the ball down 3 deep in the Titans territory with less than a minute left. The Bills couldn't execute a simple QB sneak and it cost them. But the reason the margin for error was so low was the lack of being able to go up big which was a product of the red zone inefficiency early and letting up that big run to Henry.
  5. They do internal reviews of all refs. The NFL has quality control for refs as do all sports leagues. The refs with the lowest percentage of bad calls tend to get the better assignments. I know people who work for the NBA in referee operations which have a detailed process for their referee performance reviews. It’s just that refereeing a sport is such a hugely subjective thing that no matter what some people won’t be happy.
  6. I wouldn't mind signing Roberts, he was a sturdy effective punt returner in 2019 and 2020. However, he hasn't been very good with the Texans as a returner in 2021 and is 33 and will be 34 in January. As much as Mac has made me a bit nervous, he has been pretty solid as a returner. Not sure if Roberts still has it as a return man but I wouldn't fault the Bills for trying to get a steady hand they are familiar with back in the fold.
  7. I think Josh has the stronger arm and plays in the conditions more. I would trust him to take on the winds more than Lamar. You could be right in that there are points where any QB struggles in those conditions so point well taken.
  8. Depends on the fan base. There is no need to pile on the Jaguars or Texans who have not shown to be generally speaking as douches. I think exceptions to this are division rivals and fanbases who have become overbearing like KC. Generally speaking I do agree that you should just enjoy your teams success.
  9. He is coming off a serious injury so I am not shocked to see him coming out a bit slow. I will give it a bit of time before I write him off as not being close to the same player. I watched all of his targets against the Cardinals and he didn’t have any bad drops. The only possible drop he had was on a 4th down where he was pretty heavily blanketed by the defense and would have been short had he caught it. I do think the Browns are not a great situation for him. They are a run heavy offense with a QB that has chemistry issues with Odell. I think if Odell were to be traded to a better team he would show out more. He still draws the gravity of coverage and when he gets decent targets his production improves.
  10. I think home field will be very important for the Bills if they match up with Baltimore in the playoffs. Lamar can throw but he can’t throw in the heavy winds like Josh can. That would make the Ravens one dimensional and would really make it difficult on them. Whereas in Baltimore the weather might somewhat cold the winds aren’t as big a factor. Agree with you on the Pats, they are a tough team that is missing out on luck a bit. Definitely think they will push for a wildcard spot in the AFC at least on the fringes.
  11. I thought Flores could be a good find for Miami but this season has proven otherwise. Just poor management of a situation that could have been way better.
  12. The Titans almost royaly ***** the NFL by screwing up Covid protocol
  13. I think the Bills win by two possessions but I don't foresee a 3+ possession blowout. I think the Titans run a soft two deep defense which means the Bills are going to have to dink and dunk up the field and run the ball. Which along with the Titans run heavy offense will limit the amount of possessions in the game and make a blowout a bit harder. But I do think there is a level of "personal" hate in this game for the Bills after last years game where the Titans just completely out muscled the Bills. Similar to KC I think there is a feeling that the Bills want to be the bully in this situation and prove to themselves there is no team that can out physical them. I just don't see the game script leading to a running the score up situation.
  14. Moss is the better back in my opinion but Singletary is not a bad complement. Good to have two young backs on rookie deals. Hard not to think the team is good enough at RB. Elite play at RB is going to cost cap or draft capital that the team needs to spend elsewhere.
  15. Diggs has had 60 or more receiving yards in every single game this season. He also has double digit targets in 3 out of 5 games and in the two games where he didn't get 10 or more targets he got a healthy 8 in one and 5 in the other. Considering the game script has been blowouts most of the time that's a lot of involvement in the offense for Diggs. His pace for the season for just under 1,300 yards and 95 receptions on the season, pretty healthy.
  16. Worry about that once the team is winning titles. This team has not even played in a Super Bowl let alone won one. Windows to win are often short. Just worry about this season. Don't get too ahead of yourself nothing is guaranteed.
  17. It won't mean much in the grand scheme of things beyond the Bills trying to get a first round bye and home field. But it will be fun if the Bills and Tampa are both sitting on top of their conferences and they have a late season meeting.
  18. As we know with the Bills when you are good you have to pony up to keep your own players. The Chargers should still have enough cap space to retain their players and go after a piece or two. They will be a power player in the AFC in the next few years.
  19. The cap has many ways it can be manipulated with bonuses. The Saints always have one or two cuts that free up some space and then they just work the bonuses around. The Bills did similar things this past off-season. They got a lot of cap space by converting salary to bonuses. If Beasley is gone I hope Sanders is brought back and a high draft pick is poured into the position. I know Diggs is still there, Knox is a factor and Davis is young but they need to keep that position well stocked. Either way I don't really care about next season at the moment. Live in the now.
  20. The offense is adjusting and not just running things back and just do the same thing. The league adjusts so adjust your offense before teams figure you out. Knox having a larger role, the running game and Sanders are being implemented into the offense and you kind of get the feeling that by mid-November the offense is going to have it all put together. The offense now has so many different ways it can go besides split them out four wide and have the WR's and Allen play pitch and catch. The team can run the ball more consistently and they have a tight end that can play well in the passing game. They are still playing very good offense but just working out the rough edges.
  21. They also are on Murray's rookie deal for another couple of seasons so you really should try to take advantage of that. Ertz is a nice piece for the Cardinals to replace Maxx Williams who is out for the season. Williams didn't have eye popping numbers (16 catches 193 yards and a TD) but he was in a crowded passing attack still having an impact. Ertz should fit nicely in replacing that. It also comes at a fairly low cost. They gave up their 6th round pick from 2021 a corner and a 2022 5th round pick. Not really all that much for a quality player who fits in to replace an injured TE.
  22. 31-21 Buffalo. Titans let the Bills check down all the way using a soft two deep zone. Bills offense moves the ball well and the defense holds the Titans to 21.
  23. That's another aspect I forgot about. Money was an issue but meddling was another factor. I really think that if you conducted a TBD group think tank of how the team should be run from 2005 to 2014 it would have gone better than it did, which is more so a statement on how bad things were run as opposed to saying anything positive about our ability to make decisions for an NFL team. The fans would have at least drafted Ngata and Mangold in 2006.
  24. I like Davis to have an impact but I think the receivers and Knox eat the Titans lunch on check downs. I think getting Beasley and Knox specifically involved in making those 5-12 yard check down completions is going to be critical.
