  1. They need another good CB. I assume they’re scouring the cuts from around the league for options.
  2. This is apparently true but I don’t really get it. McKenzie was fine on those sweeps and gadget plays and Brieda didn’t show much out of the backfield in the preseason.
  3. Apparently he’s hell in the QB room though.
  4. You can’t have all stars at every position. Even the best teams have weaknesses in the salary cap era.
  5. This is a great example of why it’s impossible to compare across eras. I think you just try to evaluate each teams relative position within their own era and compare that way. I mean, if the teams actually played each other then I have no doubt that the current team would win because of improvements in the athletes and advances in game strategy.
  6. It’s crazy. Christie is the best clutch kicker the Bills have ever had and probably the best overall. Bass is promising and all but he’s going into his second season and has a lot to prove in his career before I’d take him over Christie.
  7. After listening to the PC, this sounds right to me too. The interesting thing is that he’s in a battle to make the team and will now probably miss the rest of preseason. So, does he make the team or not? I assume they’re going to give Butler a long look next week so that he can make his case.
  8. I really haven’t seen anything from Brieda that would lead me to believe that they would cut a core ST player for him. Same with Obada WRT Johnson.
  9. For me the question is do they think Obada is likely to get even better? If so then it’s probably worth keeping Obada, cutting Addison, and living with him for one season while he continues to grow. On the other hand, if they think Obada is probably close to his maximum then they are probably better off keeping Addison, cutting Obada and just replacing him with somebody else next season as Addison continues to decline.
  10. I watched most of their games that season and he really didn’t look that bad for a rookie QB on a horrible team. But they never gave him a chance to improve. They got a new coach, a new QB and kicked him to the curb. He has never been in a stable situation since. He may have never become good but he really had no chance. Life isn’t fair I guess.
  11. He played 10 downs, eight of which were runs. Not exactly being asked to show what he can do. But carry on with YOUR ranting. Lol.
  12. I do find it surprising that a journeyman who has never really been a major contributor or even had a great regular season game that I’m aware of has become such a “lock” to make the team that he doesn’t even have to play in early preseason games.
  13. Yeah, I don’t really know why everyone is suddenly worrying about the running game. They ran it fine and this is a passing team anyway. My bigger concern on offense was the way the OL got blown up against KC. That’s where I want to see improvement.
  14. I thought Phillips was outstanding overall. He may have started the day behind Butler but I’ll bet Butler is sweating right now.
  15. I’m sure he’ll get more chances next PS game, but the two times McKenzie touched the ball he had a dropped pass and a crappy punt return.
  16. Looking at that roster it makes me wonder if they shouldn’t have tried to find a CB instead of Basham.
  17. Butler hasn’t really done anything either since he’s been with the team so I don’t think he’s that far ahead of Phillips. One good preseason game and those two can easily flip. DE is going to be really tough unless they keep 7 of them. It seems hard to believe that they would cut a core ST player for a 3rd string DE who might play a couple of downs a game.
  18. I think Butler may go as well. Given how deep they are at DE I could see them only keeping 4 true DTs. That probably means that either Phillips, Zimmer or Butler are cut.
  19. If Addison doesn’t start then I can’t see them keeping him instead of Johnson.
  20. That would mean 3 carries each for the game.
  21. I think people are underestimating how good that Dallas team was. They were easily the best of the teams the Bills faced in the Super Bowls and had just beaten the Bills 52-17 in the Super Bowl the previous year. I mean figuring out how to run the ball with your HOF running back behind your pro-bowl FB and the best OL in the NFL at the time isn't exactly an act of genius.
  22. So, Sherman gets drunk. Something goes down and he angrily leaves to go confront his in-laws. His girlfriend tries to stop him, fails, and calls the police to say he’s unarmed and suicidal. He crashes his car into a median (probably because he’s drunk), and then walks the rest of the way to his in-laws. When he gets there he tries to break in and they call the police. The police arrive and he tries to flee. When that fails he tries to fight them and a dog has to be used to help subdue him. Or as we call it around here… Friday night.
  23. The Washington Washingtons. I like it. They could put old GWs profile on the side of their helmets as their logo. Would be awesome.
  24. You’d think based on some people’s reaction that vaccines had just been invented instead of being around for over 100 years. Most people get dozens of them over the course of their lives. Apparently this one is an outrage however.
  25. Well the Chiefs steamrolled the Bills in both games last season so I can see why he isn’t too worried about them.
