Yes, according to Schefter the owners spoke with Mark Davis giving him the options, then he flew to the Raiders practice facility to “find” Gruden and after they met, Gruden resigned.

At halftime of the MNF game, Adam Schefter indicated that the NFL ownership group told Mark Davis to either fire Gruden or have him resign in response to the emails, so I guess the answer is: all of them.

That's great, but I strongly suspect that if you look through the e-mails of the 34 rich, middle aged (or greater) owners, 32 of whom are white and 29 of whom are men, you're going to find more than a few that look like Donald Sterling.

I think Mark Davis and the other NFL owners should turn over their cell phones and email servers for the last 20 years for review so that we can make sure that they are worthy of passing judgement.

I think that people who have said nothing in the last 20 years that could be construed as racist, sexist or anti-gay should be the ones to mete out the punishment.

It's because they let a lot more go, which I like in general because it keeps the flow of the game. But it could hurt many of the marquee skill players in the NFL which is what I assume the league is trying to avoid.

I think the real problem is that Allen had to hold the ball longer vs Pittsburgh. It seemed like WRs were open immediately against these soft WFT zones.

An enjoyable game. I thought Daboll made some good halftime adjustments. Defense is looking great. If the DL plays like it has weeks 1 and 2 then they're going to be very tough. I'm not too worried about Allen but I am concerned with the offensive line. They have had their struggles the first two weeks.

So 2 games out of the last 20? I wouldn’t hold your breath this season waiting for a game plan that doesn’t involve spreading the field with 4 and 5 wrs and throwing the crap out of the ball. Which was probably not ideal against a defense like Pittsburgh’s. That may have been one of the times to make some modifications.

If they spend a high pick on a corner and he works out, then he is almost certainly going to walk when his rookie contract is up because they couldn’t afford to keep him. So it would be a rental. I don’t think they see using their high picks in that way.

Good man v man CBs come at a premium and there's no way that the Bills could afford two of them and still spend like they do on the DL, while still having some money left over for offense. Their decision is to spend on the DL (which generally has more impact on the game - "it all starts up front"), keep the DBs in zone most of the time and hope that the pressure generated helps the DBs in coverage. Against certain matchups it can be a problem, but overall I think it's a sound strategy.
