MAC teams beat Big Ten teams at least once a season, but not last season. Minnesota is middling team in their conference. Here is the depth chart for the Bulls:

Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL

It's pretty much this, Bills can't afford on the cap a true proven game wrecker. they gotta keep drafting 1-2 D-line players each year to see if they can find a diamond in the rough. I also think they are gonna go after older or injury prone once dominant pass rushers with warts like Bosa and hope maybe you get one great season out of them here or there to fill in the gaps. The Bills actually were just unfortunate with Von because Von in 2022 up until he got hurt (on a rather freak play) was producing like an elite pass rusher despite the rotational snaps. Von's pass rush numbers were up there with Myles Garrett that year despite Von only having played 55% of snaps vs. Myles 75% (of course Von nowhere near the run defender). The Bills really just can't afford to pay retail for a pass rusher, it's either gonna be take swings in the draft or sign upper-mid level older stars like Bosa and hope you get a healthy bounce back season. -
We're a SB contender relying on rookies to fill big roles in the interior of our defense. I'm sure they hoped Carter would've developed into something useful. As it stands, he looks like a bust. Meanwhile, because they didn't have Phillips in camp, they gave valuable reps to their young players. Sanders and Walker will likely contribute this year, but asking them to do so right away in a meaningful role isn't the best winning strategy. Signing Phillips says absolutely nothing about the long-term expectations for Sanders and Walker. It does say something about Carter, though.

I don't really know what the "$30 million in total guarantees" actually means. Since it is a contract extension, I guess it means that his entire contract, including the already existing contract, has/had $30 million in guarantees. But what he got guaranteed at signing of the extension was only $15.28 million. If we cut James Cook right now, the Bills would have $15.6 million in dead money. I don't think he has $30 million in guaranteed money included in the $46 million that was part of the extension. It is just reported in a way to make Cook and his agent look like they got more than they actually did.

All true and very concerning. However, the Buffalo offense still has a stout O-line, stout run game, with some very good tight ends. Coleman, Shavers could step up and be really good. It also might show some rust on Josh, along with the timing being off for the first few games. Besides, we haven't really seen the 1st string offense in any preseason game, so who knows how good that offense might be to start the season? Buffalo Bills biggest worry is their own undefined defensive secondary and ability or not to stop the Raven's run game. King Henry! Besides, those Ravens will want revenge for knocking them out of the playoffs last season. Ravens @ 8:20 Sun in Buffalo, @ NY Jets 1 pm, and the Dolphins in Buffalo 8 pm Thursday are the first three. Not going to be an easy start for this season. I'm hoping for the best! Go Bills!

Game (two week) thread - Ravens at Bills SNF

I like bringing in Anderson, Keon and Shavers WR, Hawes at TE, and physically beat the Ravens, and dominate both sides of line of scrimmage -
Which is odd because special teams was Shaver’s MO at Alabama. I mean that’s all he did. I’m pretty sure he had 1 career reception there. Those fans can speak for themselves. There’s a percentage of us that got a stable head on our shoulders and know preseason is meaningless other than the guys competing for a roster spot. I’ve gotten excited too many times in preseason from the likes of Jeff Tuel and Brian Brohm. I know it means absolute dog **** now.

Biggest concern is their defensive backfield vs our receiver group. Even if Shakir is a go, they will be man to man all night long and can bring an extra backer and still have a spy on JA. -
Why Landon Jackson is the next MONSTER in the NFL

So far underwhelming -
For one, he caught a 58 yard TD this preseason. Did anyone on the 2024 Bills have a Receiving TD longer than 58 yards? Oh yeah, Shavers had a 69 yard receiving TD, which was the Bills longest receiving TD last year. Shavers route running has been tremendous. Bills needed a basket in preseason, and Shavers ran a beautiful route with a double move, and got open for the first down. Thats refreshing, after last year where it was rare a WR beat their man on 3rd down Jerry Rice ran a 4.71. Speed is nice, but there is a lot more nuances to getting separation. Keon is getting separation at times. Route Running is an art unto itself.

Joe Marino’s All 22 from Bucs preseason game
BigAl2526 replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a pretty accurate statement. Walker has bigger splash plays paired with more costly poor plays. Sanders is more consistent. The question on Walker is, can he be coached up to play more consistently while retaining the capacity to make bigger plays during the course of the game? -
Yet another 3T that they're dead set on forcing to play 1T. They seem to have at least a decent eye for drafting 3Ts, but they can't identify a 1T to save their lives.
-
No. All indications are this is a 53 man roster player. say what you want....the dude had a sack and a pressure of Mahomes when the AFC Championship was tied at 29 with less than 5 minutes to play inside our 20

Good Night / Bad Night - Pre-season game 3

Well, when all you do is treat gunshot wounds, hand out bandages, prescribe oxycodone, and charge exorbitant fees, you're bound to have advertising dollars to piss away. -
You’re right, is it a quote from somewhere? If it is the punctuation is incorrect.
-
I don't get it...maybe due to Larry O's six-game suspension? I sure didn't see this coming.
-
Yes, NFL+
-
He got guaranteed 15.3 at signing, with another 13.5 guaranteed through the rest of the contract. According to Spotrac

For teams a single cut down date is easier with the reduction of preseason games to 3. The NFLPA is a lot more concerned with the health and well being of their rank and file than they are the UDFAs that don’t make a roster or hang on the fringe for a season or two.
-
I don't know about that. He wasn't 'open' on his TD catch. And getting a step or two against scrubs on other reps doesn't prove anything. We already have one slow wideout on the 53, not sure we need two. Then again, both Keon and Shavers are faster than Hall of Famer Steven Largent who reportedly only ran a 4.7.

Let me see if I have this straight. Brandon Beane traded down to pick Keon Coleman (losing the 5th year option in the process), used the pick he gained to draft a 3T, the coaches forced the guy to play 1T (for which he was not suited), only to see Beane sign a 3T in free agency the very next year who immediately got suspended, use draft picks on two MORE 3Ts (one of whom the coaches are also forcing to play 1T, to which he does not appear suited), and now they're likely going to cut or trade the first 3T-to-1T draftee because the forced position switch predictably didn't work..... ...and after all of THAT... They still only have one viable 1T and they're re-signing Jordan Phillips? Yikes. Not the finest hour for ol' BBB and his 4D roster chess.

I should have known that there was more to than reported. Trump is setting them up again. RE: Trump’s Flag Burning EO It’s always worth reading the primary source material before freaking out. Go read the actual EO. I’ll link to it below. It does not make the mere act of burning a US flag illegal—that is still constitutionally protected speech. What it DOES make illegal is this: burning a US flag "in a manner that is likely to incite imminent lawless action or that is an action amounting to “fighting words”.” So if you want to go burn your own flag in your own backyard, have at it. But if you want to burn that flag amidst a violent “Death to America” rally paid for by George Soros, that’s something altogether different. Now I am not opining on whether even that narrow interpretation will survive constitutional scrutiny. But know this—the more of these sorts of EOs Trump signs, the more legal resources the Democrats must expend to challenge him, resources that could probably be better deployed (for their purposes) on issues essential to the Trump agenda. What I’m trying to tell you is that this EO is a giant “SQUIRREL!” for Democrats. Enjoy it.
