I would hope they play better...but would not expect a huge jump. I expect...and am not to worried about...some growing pains. The Bills did not get an entirely new coaching staff, so not an entire re-vamp. However, they did add several new coaches which suggests there is a change in philosophy. Despite the poor play, we saw some of that on Sunday. There was a play when Bills showed cover zero...but backed out. There was a Rousseau knocked down pass when he was standing at the line because it was a zone blitz. Their defense is more creative but they're still learning how to do it. They are doing so with a number of rookies playing and a second year safety. I think the Bishop blitz from 20 yards away was a sign of some of that confusion. He was bluffing playing 2 high but the Ravens snapped quickly and he was caught out of position. They are learning...but make take the entire regular season to learn and the offense will need to carry them. Think about how bad the Chiefs D was while they were learning Spags D in the regular season...and then was great in the playoffs. That's what I'm hoping. Also, I think what this style of D needs is a speed corner who can stick with a receiver in man and a swiss army knife edge rusher who they can move around. They drafted one (Max Hairston) and signed the other (Hoicht) but neither are playing.

I agree, completely. Far too often posters offer opinions without having looked through the thread to see if the opinion’s already in play. A site’s value is diminished when it becomes a series of entries each essentially representing the same point of view expressed by different people. I try to make sure my words add value and aren’t merely echoes of those written previously by others and I’ll thumb’s up a poster for affirmation. My grandma taught me that if I didn’t have something new to say, sit silently. In any event, grateful for Scott and team.

Fair point.. and the Jets looked decent against the Steelers. They don’t have the Secondary of the Ravens, but do have a pass rush. That said.. I think Buffalo’s Defense was thoroughly embarrassed by that Ravens game and will be looking to right some wrongs against Baltimore-lite in the Jets.

How much better is the Ravens team on paper than the Bills?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
My guess would be the bills wanted mcduffie and the chiefs surprisingly traded up to steal him so we had to trade up to get the only other corner we had a high first round grade on that wasn’t as good of a scheme fit. it was mostly dumb luck the ravens were in position to take Hamilton at all lol not only should he not have fallen that far but the ravens had to lose 5 in a row (4 extremely close games) after a Lamar injury to even have the 14th pick. Hamilton easily should’ve gone top 10 and probably should’ve gone top 5 so teams picking late in the first probably didn’t even see him as a trade up target. Hamilton had to have dropped because of his 40 time at the combine which is just dumb haha -
Inside the post game victory speech

What I really liked was no showboating during the comeback. Josh was supposed to unveil a 'euro step layup td' celebration. He kept it under wraps. Keon makes several huge plays and just brings the ball to the ref for the next play. Everyone was just focused on executing. Counter that with Flowers wave and the always undisciplined dolphins. -

Josh Allen, the most expensive hotdog in the league
SoMAn replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the early days of the Falcons playing at the Georgia Dome, there was a vendor (Buffalo guy of course) who sold Sahlen's char-broiled hot dogs there. He also had a couple of stores at different times in which were sold Sahlen's, Loganberry, Weber's mustard, etc. Kind of a local Ted's. The last store that I know of was on Windy Hill Rd in Marietta. Good Buffalo food, but not very convenient hours unless you worked in the area. Basically only open during lunch hours on weekdays i believe. I think I went there one Saturday and discovered they didn't open weekends. BTW, in defense of some of the Highmark pricing for food/drinks, it's kind of offset by having some of the lowest ticket prices in the league. -
Ed Oliver hit on 3rd down last drive. Wow

Agree I don't think that is roughing. Even the way they often call it now I don't think it is roughing. Could it have been possible that a ref wrongly called it? Sure. But they are reluctant to that on close plays in game on the line moments. The refs tend to just display more caution at those moments. -

I’ve been a fan of the team since its inception and had season tix throughout the SB run living in Dansville. I left early many times if the outcome wasn’t in doubt or to get to work on time after a night game. Sure, it’s a risk but I never missed a change in the expected outcome. Traffic has always been an issue in Podunk Orchard Park. THIS outcome wasn’t expected. -

The fact that I left Buffalo after 40 years and no longer have season tickets doesn't disqualify me from having moderate opinions in this topic. And based on your history here, you should probably say less about others on this board. -

Raiders have $3 hot dogs in a couple of sections. So, the list is inaccurate. -

As a footnote...while Lamar Jackson has blown the most 4th quarter double digit leads in NFL history, Allen has NEVER blown one. -

Just in general, you should learn to say less about fans. Complaining about the people who have made it possible for Buffalo to have Bills seems to be a habit with you. -
I don't watch a lot of college football, but I did tune in to a couple games this past weekend. It struck me how much more efficient and spot-on the refs were. Particularly with spots. It really makes you think.

Game Week thread - Bills at Jets
Sierra Foothills replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's a matter of degree. I believe if it was possible to measure a team's motivation that you would find the Jets have a higher level, after all (cliche incoming) this is like their Super Bowl whereas for the Bills, the Jets represent a team they're trying to avoid a letdown against. Good teams most often have enough motivation to avoid being upset... but not always. -

How much better is the Ravens team on paper than the Bills?
SoMAn replied to Lost's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fortunately, they play on the gridiron, and the Bills have been relatively successful in matchups with the birds. If the Ravens are superior 'on paper' by some measure, there's data not being accounted for. The Win-Loss record speaks for itself. When they play 'on paper' I'll GAF. -

Bray Wyatt replied to saundena's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe that means the play can still continue, and say if the guy fumbles it afterwards, the fumble would still count. If the ball became dead due to the illegal touching, the play would end right there.
