Whether by design or by chance this threat of National Guard deployment ìs a trap for blue state governors and mayors of cities. As it is absolutely forbidden to agree with Trump on even the most insignificant thing the Dems are forced to take what appears as a pro-crime position. In Chicago some 30 or so people have been shot this weekend. And the Mayor seems comfortable with that number while vowing to protect the citizens of Chicago from the big, bad National Guard and Federal law enforcement. Issuing orders to the local police to not cooperate. The governor has issued some nonsensical proclamation pledging to protect the rights of the LGBTQ community while never saying just what rights are at risk. None it appears. The libs look like scared and frightened clowns about to be shot out of a cannon at the circus while doing everything possible to avoid doing their job of protecting their citizens.

Game week thread - Ravens at Bills SNF

I saw some of the game where Bosa played (or one of them, can't remember if he played in 2) and they seemed to be getting after the QB from what I remember. I'll be interested to see how they play Jackson. McD has been good at limiting the amount of rushing yards he gets in the past. I always see games like this in terms of the headlines after, and if the Ravens win and Jackson plays great you know it will be "Jackson played like he took the MVP snub personally" and all that crap -

At RB.... Brown from Cinci this week or Jones from the Vikes? What do you guys like? -
Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Jim Plunkett, Nick Foles, Joe Flacco, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, and Jeff Hostetler, among others, all won SB’s. Brady is clearly the anomaly. I’d prefer our odds with a great QB, but all credit for winning does not go to the QB. There are countless other factors. It’s pretty simple, so I don’t know why you seem compelled to argue that, other than the obvious. I don’t see much point in pursuing this line of discussion.

Imagine kayo. 🤢 Friend of mine sculpted & installed the Jonathan the Husky statue on campus in the mid-‘90s and it’s just iconic. I used to rub / pat its nose before every exam for good luck (I graduated summa, so…), and it appears that others do as well. Larry has been called a few times over the years when there’s graffiti and whatnot. Once, when someone took a polish of some kind and buffed Jonathan’s male anatomy so it was gleaming and he had to try to re-patina it. Part of any statue, just like architecture, is how people are going to interact with it. Some kids ride on the back during grad pictures. Last year, GQ did a photo shoot of Paige Bueckers for their cover and feature story and he was thrilled when someone sent him the picture. He said to me that all it needed for perfection 🤌 would be for her to be smoking a blunt while in this pose, as if it were post-*****. Of course, at 16 feet for the tallest bison sculpture, posing would be less intimate. I’m not sure / haven’t heard if they’re going to try to cordon off the area so people can’t go right up and touch it / them. Which would be kinda sad. -

The purveyors of preseason rankings had anointed Texas largely because of what in retrospect was an overabundance of hype surrounding Arch Manning. Reality hit at the Horseshoe on Saturday, and now the Buckeyes are in position to jump Penn State and return to No. 1 when The Associated Press' first Top 25 of the regular season drops Tuesday. Look for No. 9 LSU to garner support for No. 1, as well, after its 17-10 victory over No. 4 Clemson. An eight-rung promotion to the top spot would be the second-biggest jump of all time. In 1984, Miami went from No. 10 to No. 1 in the first regular-season poll. Given the Week 1 results, Penn State might even drop a spot or two. A 46-11 win over lowly Nevada doesn't necessarily move the needle upward with voters. Texas fans surely are let down but can take solace in the fact that Manning has a high ceiling and won't be playing Ohio State every week. Alabama fans, on the other hand, are gutted and rightly worried. Kalen DeBoer has lost to four unranked opponents in his first 14 games following a 31-17 defeat at Florida State. His predecessor, Nick Saban, lost to four unranked teams in his 235 games over 17 years..."more in article" https://baynews9.com/fl/tampa/news/2025/09/01/ap-top-25-poll-preview-buckeyes

Dilfer is an anomaly. Hall of Famers like Brady get drafted in the 6th round every year.

you're not good at this. Jefferson would have been right there for the Bills--because of the guy who was picked before Jefferson...

We’ve come a long way from “she’s just a little rich girl with a hobby”! I’m incredibly impressed by her and Emma Navarro. With a billionaire father, it would be very easy to mail it in and just live the good life. Their success demonstrates a level of character that I have to appreciate. -
Of All the things that the Left could attack the Trumpster for,(crudeness, different foreign policies, Tariffs) I just can't believe that they are going after his health. Forget Biden comparisons, he is more active than almost anyone else in public life. It is really funny that they cannot realize this.

The simplest answer is that it’s complicated and a team sport. Joe Montana would have been dog food on a bad team. A QB is indeed a huge thing, but it’s not the only thing. Some people take that too far, imo. Trent Dilfer has a SB ring. It’s not a binary situation.

You can't cut an injured player. I'm pretty sure you know this. At best, you release him with an injury settlement, and since the RTP for an Achilles tear is 9 to 12 months, no player is going to accept a settlement less than the entire season. You get the roster spot whether he's IR or released, and you owe the full salary, so why not go for the better optics and keep him? My guess would be he was working through something and that's why he looked so bad in pre-season, and either it got worse, or after long enough of not getting better they told him he had to get more tests. Wishing him the best and a good recovery.

Per Hard Knocks... Knox travels light. He went to two weeks of training camp with only a carry on bag, that his wife carefully packed for him. Lots of underwear. Kincaid wants to be a Peregrine falcon. That, ladies and gentlemen, are your Buffalo Bills Tight Ends.
