It’s absolutely about speed. Receivers that beat press man are almost always quick. If you try to muscle your way out of press man, it takes too much time. To run and throw a back shoulder route, you need time. The reason press man and blitzing at the sam time works, is because the blitz can get to the QB before the receiver has run his route.

Right now? No. Week 1 has cratered the run defense thus far. Overall, they have complete shut down the pass. 3 games in a row under 150 yards passing is elite. Couple scrambles from Fields and Rattler makes the over all run defense worst that it has been imo. Oliver , Milano back Ogunjobi and Hoecht soon. I think in short order you look up and they will be top 10 in pretty much everything.
