Pine Barrens Mafia
nm 674119[/snapback] I've got a nauseous feeling that it's gonna be Huff. This team just DOESN'T draft for the lines early.

BoondckCL
Marv, what the @%#* were you thinking? This is possibly the dumbest move we could have made! We could have traded down so many spots and picked up more people and still gotten Whitner.

TC in St. Louis
The St. Louis Post and USA Today don't even have him in the first. The USA Today has him rated 8th best safety in the draft. Maybe Marv thought that meant 8th best player.
ACor58
What the hell. Why not trade the pick. Whitner would have been available at the end of the f**kin round.
Max997
and take whatever was being offered, someone had to be offering something major reach drafting a guy 6 to 10 spots too high

BoondckCL
Marv, let me tell you, I would not have minded this pick at 14 or 15, but with number eight and no additional picks, !@#$ that. Instead we blew it, I think this is a Dick Jauron pick really and i think this shows of the incompetence that Bills fans can come to expect over the next few years. damj
The Pick was so bad ... Even Boomer didn't know what to say, except that, {to paraphrase}, "Marv won alot of games, so he must know what he is doing"
YOOOOOO
Now Whitner might turn out to be the great safety.....but he was project to 15-20....why not trade back... I dont understand it......
TC in St. Louis
Why take a guy who is not even ranked in the top 30, and pick him at 8? Why not trade Leinert to the friggin' Broncos, then pick him at 15? At least then you won't be the laughing stock of the league. I hate this pick with all my heart. I don't get it. It is not anywhere close to value for the 8th pick, I don't care if the guy makes All Pro his first year, it was a bad choice. Ridiculous. Worst pick in the history of the Bills. Value wise. Fan in Chicago
Methinks a trade for NC has been done and we will get Bunkley or somebody else. Just a hunch ...

Larry Playfair
I have to know why we didnt take whatever denver or philly was offering and get this guy later. The Bill have to answer this. nothing surprises me anymore with the bills....

Virgil
Usually, there is someone sticking up for the Bills. Personally, I am not one of them. I completely agree that, if this was who we wanted, we could have traded and still got him. I hate this pick, all the eagerness about this draft is gone. I'm not saying we won't get good people later, but i just don't really care right now.

Isnt the first round the best PLAYER availible and this by far is reach considering they have the Cowboys taking him at
Nyghtewynd
Two words: Utter. Incompetence. But as long as the team is owned by a senile old man, what do you expect? This has Mr. Depends written all over it.

TC in St. Louis
And we waited months for this pick, finally a chance to get something as compensation for sitting through that horrid season. Matt Leinart was in our laps, with willing trade partners, and we take a guy who is valued as a late 1st round pick. Fire Marv right now.
Max997
and the trade(s) fell apart at the end and they were not prepared and ended up taking the guy they targeted at a lower position assuming they would trade I cannot imagine they think this guy is the 8th best player in the draft, I just cant
Pete
They didnt even have a highlight real. Anything to trade down-a 4th, a 6th, a 2nd next year.....!@#$ you Marv- you suck!
udonkey
Boomer didn't know what to say because the entire ESPN crew SUCKS today...christ, my buddies and I could go up there and be as insightful as they are today.
