  4. This is wild! After CJ was cut 25%/$40M of saints cap is dead money. http://thebiglead.com/2016/09/14/cj-spiller-cut-new-orleans-saints-dead-cap-money-high/ Bills: $15MM, with $7mm from Mario. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ For some perspective, dead cap money: New England has $11 million in dead cap money counting against the salary cap Seahawks are at under $10 million Washington Redskins–$11M - long the poster boys of bad offseason free agent contracts

  6. http://thedraftwire.usatoday.com/2016/01/03/top-candidates-for-the-buffalo-bills-in-the-first-round/ DE Carl Lawson, Junior, Auburn TigersBack-to-back Tigers look like promising fits in Buffalo, as Lawson can play with his hand down or from a two-point stance. Should Williams depart as expected, Lawson’s well-rounded pass rushing traits could be a nice addition off the edge for Buffalo. RELATED:
  7. http://thedraftwire.usatoday.com/2016/01/03/top-candidates-for-the-buffalo-bills-in-the-first-round/ OT Shon Coleman, Junior, Auburn TigersThe Bills have simply not gotten the performances they hoped for from young players Cyrus Kouandjio and Seantrel Henderson, and could look at another tackle if Glenn takes money elsewhere in free agency. Coleman is big, powerful, and nasty in the run game, but does need some technique work to play left tackle at the next level. The junior moves incredibly well for such a hulking man, and could play guard early on his career for Buffalo.

LB Jaylon Smith, Junior, Notre Dame Fighting IrishPicking in the mid-teens, the Bills likely would not have had a shot at Smith until his recent knee injury this past weekend. The extent of Smith’s injury is not known, but should the linebacker fall, the Bills have the roster talent to take a chance on Smith’s recovery and eventual impact. An athletic freak with exceptional range, Smith is smart, tenacious, and versatile enough to play either linebacker position in the Buffalo 3-4 defense.
  9. Solid solid pick. We needed OLman and this guy was predicted by some to be RD 1 talent! And regardless of whether he beats out hairston to start game 1, we will need depth because O lines injuries will happen. Glenn will be starting by week 8.
  10. I need to change the header of this topic now....Belicheck again gets the best of another NFL GM.
  11. Now i underdstand better: Wilson among interesting restricted FAsBy Len Pasquarelli ESPN.com Archive It took only four days into free agency for the action to move to the restricted segment of the market, with the New England Patriots on Monday acquiring Miami Dolphins wide receiver Wes Welker. Rather than acquire Welker in the conventional manner, by signing him to a restricted free-agent offer sheet and waiting a week to see whether the Dolphins would match the deal, the Patriots instead struck a trade. They cleverly offered an additional seventh-round choice, beyond the second-round compensation tag Welker already carried, and the two sides avoided the usually inherent red tape. Whether other teams will be so creative in approaching restricted free agents remains to be seen, but there almost certainly will be an increasingly active market for the three-year veterans in the coming days. Securing the services of restricted free agents historically has been a difficult undertaking with the current system. In the 14 previous years of free agency, only 55 restricted free agents changed teams. Four restricted free agents changed teams in 2006. The addition this year of another level of compensation -- with the league adding a second-round tier -- will give some teams pause as they consider signing any of the players tendered at that level. Twenty-three of the 94 restricted free agents who received qualifying offers, in fact, received the second-round level.
  12. I'm not syaing welkerisnt good, but he is NOT a 2nd and 7th round pick good. Oregon - did NE make an offer that Miami couldnt match? What was it? If so, why did they end up giving up the 60th pick in the draft, when we cant even get a 2nd rounder for a #1 pick and starting RB that is the self-proclamied best RB in the NFL?
  13. Also on Monday, the Dolphins acquired second- and seventh-round draft choices from the New England Patriots in exchange for wide receiver Wes Welker. The second-round pick is the 60th overall, and the Dolphins now own nine selections in the 2007 Draft, including three of the first 60 picks. A 2nd and 7th for Miami's 3rd sting WR seems like a lot? http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/news/...?contentID=5063
  14. I havent had the time recently to go back and watch individual players, but I know some of you have. Thoughts on Pennington's progress? The switch of the o line and his insertion seems to coincide with our much improved play.
  15. 2 — Touchdowns by London Fletcher, which ties him for the team lead this season with Roscoe Parrish and Lee Evans. that is pathetic
  16. nice detailed analysis kurt. Our D is swarming. The O has a long ways to go, but we are progressing.
  17. exactly, and losman will go down (as most QB's do) especially with our o line and his tendency to hold the ball too long. Not a knock on JP, he will improve and so will our o line, but for now we need a QB who has experience to step in. This isnt arena football. Holcomb was signed for this very reason, and he will provide quality backup play.
  18. We wouldnt get sh--, and we shouldnt trade him anyway. With this O line and Losman's inexperience, he will get hurt. I dont want Nall or Kingsdooky to be my backup.
  19. Losman, no matter what the results. Weeesss gotsss to knowww.....
  20. The skins are playing the game very well, but thye are betting that the cap will go up every year to cover their excessive long term contracts. So far they have been correct.
