To put that into perspective, Jonathan Taylor is on the field for ~85% of the Colts offensive plays. Cook has 5 more carries this season than Taylor (231 to 226) though. Only McCafferty has more than Cook with 237. Edited December 2 by Chaos Quote
PonyBoy Posted December 2 Posted December 2 OJ will always be the benchmark for me regarding 2000 yards in a season. Any RB that does it in 14 games or less, I'll be super impressed! 1 Quote
shane nelson Posted December 2 Posted December 2 I hope not, ideally he would rest the last 2 weeks of the season. Probably not the case, but it would be nice Quote
Gregg Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Probably not. My guess is somewhere between 1600 - 1800. Quote

When he had that devastating fumble that led to go ahead score, he came out and took the game over. Having him and Josh together for years to come give Bills fans a reason to believe we’re not far from a championship. Its more fun to watch josh. Team remind me of the team we had with tyrod and shady.... well we did end the drought so there is that. Quote
SectionC3 Posted December 2 Posted December 2 At this rate there's a good chance he's not playing agains the Jets, so I doubt it. Quote

Good thing is that his running style is fluid and he is not a bruiser. That should extend the tread on his tires this and in future seasons. Quote

GASabresIUFan Posted December 2 Posted December 2 G-d I hope not. That means we are handing him the ball way too much and he’ll be done by playoff time. IMHO, I’d like to see him used more in the passing game. His ability to make tackler’s miss is a huge asset. Lineup Davis or Johnson in the backfield and split Cook out to give defenses a look they haven’t seen and won’t know how to defend. From this lineup you can run, throws screens to Cook or Johnson/Davis or slide Cook underneath on a slot etc…. GA did this with Cook and it drove teams mad. Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted December 2 Posted December 2 No. I just cant see it happening considering teams now know he is our offense. Quote

Carries has nothing do with my point. Because Taylor is on the field for most of the offenses snaps, the defense doesn’t know whether the Colts are going to run or pass the ball. This gives Taylor an advantage because the defense has to be cautious. When Cook is on the field, he is almost always getting the ball. That is to his disadvantage. 1 Quote
Gregg Posted December 2 Posted December 2 Cook can join Gilchrist and OJ as only the 3rd Bills running back in their history to lead the league in rushing if he can catch JT these final games. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/james-cook-has-opportunity-to-join-o-j-simpson-in-exclusive-bills-club/ar-AA1Rzq6H?ocid=entnewsntp&pc=U531&cvid=692f0ca854dc485489cd9a4f0242f4b0&ei=17 Quote

EmotionallyUnstable Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Cook is now up over 1400 yards averaging 5.2 YPC. He is just behind league leader Jonathan Taylor by 28 yards on 1 fewer carry. It’d be cook if he could overtake Taylor, which I could totally see happening given the recent developments with Indy and Rivers. Quote
