As clear an indictment on Beane's GM acumen as any post I've seen.

And a handful of draft picks too. But I know he is ignoring the position from some posters here.

Chicken/egg, I think.  I agree with you that he looks like a pro.  Smooth, caches the ball well.   He’s got the look.  There’s just no chemistry, and we’re stuck with him next year.

Yup.  We just need to make better use of him and his skillset.

Augs …I’m sure the 9th  time is the charm..

I will standby by Amari Cooper got us into the playoffs, even if he had minimal actual production (especially after the injury).

Why too late?

We may not have been a wild card as of today.  Rather afce leaders, maybe overall afc leaders. Don't forget this regime has never won a road playoff game

well.. he is the missing piece from last year .. so sure … could have brought him back a lot cheaper than what they paid Palmer

The collusion, if any, would have been between the Bills and Cooks, with the Bills trying to talk a member of the Saints roster out of playing for them and jumping to another team.  If the Saints didn't want him, they could have just cut him.

Even if the league allows the Saints to waive Cooks (as Rule No. 24 is written, it should not), there is (as the source put it) “a full-blown conspiracy involving the Saints, another team, and Cooks’s agent.”

Added the source, “They all worked together.”

And if the NFL allows Cooks to be waived despite the language of Rule No. 24, the league is part of the conspiracy, too.

This is from an NBC article I read on Saturday.

Heathy scratch the next 4 weeks to learn the scheme ;)

He probably takes whatever Hardman's role on the offense was supposed to be.

Run a straight line towards the endzone and see if the defense forgets to cover you?

You guys can make all these jokes about this signing you want but when Cooks makes a key catch near the end of the Wild Card playoff game to avoid a 52-0 shutout it won't be so funny.

5 yard deep mesh crosser

You joke, Brady does not. If Brady can make nothing at all out of Moore, Samuel, and Palmer, all of whom did better with their previous OC, he is not going to do much with Cooks--or even a Waddle or Jefferson. The man's mediocrity isn't even entirely hidden by the best QB of his generation executing his patty-cake plays.

I think his usage and lack of connection with Josh hurts more than his contract.  He can play and do a lot of what we need….yet it’s just not there.

Agreed... Palmer is not a great player, but he is a good player and can be effective in his role. If this offense had a clear #1 talent at WR, we should have all the pieces we need. Cook, Kincaid, Shakir, Palmer, Davis are all good to very good as a 2nd-5th option. But... these guys need that elite outside WR to effect the defense, spacing, etc. Unfortunately, I think we also need an OC that has the knowledge and creativity to scheme what these guys do best. It is borderline criminal that with josh in the prime of his career they've let this happen.

If he makes a meaningful contribution I'll be shocked. But they have nothing to lose I guess.

They're not going to carry 7 WRs. Can they just cut Samuel now? Any difference in cap savings next year if we cut him now vs the off-season?
