It’s just a completely reasonable thought as a fan. The reality is that if it didn’t you would never think about it again but since it did you hold on to it. these types of plays happen all the time. Just look at any game thread as an example

I saw some numbers earlier, but the Bills leave their tackles on Islands more than any other team in the league. They trust their tackles to do their jobs and they generally do so, enabling Josh to do his thing. 

 

They got eaten alive tonight, but the Bills also rarely gave them too much support

DD vastly overrated.. SB legit. I’ll agree the Bills give them zero chips or support but perhaps they should for DD

I think McGovern has been banged up since the KC game personally.  He is getting up late a lot after plays.  Hopefully this ten days off will help him.

There was no downfield passing attack tonight because there wasn't enough time to let the play develop and the WR's do not get open quickly.  My goodness the Texans seemed to have 10 guys within 7 yards of the LOS on almost every play.

 

But when you play the #1 Defense in the NFL at their house you are going to struggle moving the ball and scoring points.  So how about the D under the Bills defensive minded HC and with a lot of draft & FA capital invested help the Bills win a game 16 - 13?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Likely would have been a different outcome if they were in Buffalo for this game. Sure there would have been pressure but being at home gives them a major advantage with timing the snap counts for them to get off the ball on D, especially on a short week.

I'm interested to see the All 22. Were there receivers to throw it to and did he have the requisite time? It didn't feel like it for the most part.

If he didn’t do it with Ben Johnson, Vrabel and McDonald available. I think we need to miss the playoffs for it to happpen.

Two things..

 

If they were ever going to bring Daboll

in, this needed to happen.  Nobody in this organization should gaf how Brady feels about it.  His pass offense is an absolute joke and he should be lucky they don’t fire him right now. 
 

They’re not winning the division.  So just get in and then rest everyone Week 18.  Worst case scenario is we get to that week with a win and NE loss scenario to win the division… go all out and they win.  But watch… CIN will certainly beat them on Sunday now.

True and lack of route adjustments by the OC.. quick passes and short swing passes were needed .. they just weren’t called enough .. Josh is clearly exasperated and overwhelmed.. trying too hard.

Yeah I can’t agree there. Look back at those sacks and you can see that there’s almost never anyone even remotely open. 
 

It looked like Allen got through 3 reads before getting sacked on a couple of those.

 

This is on coaching and utilization of the WRs. There were almost zero answers for the pressure all night long. That’s coaching and just getting outclassed.

To be fair he was tasked by McD & Brady with constructing a line that could run bock effectively and he has done that.  And this is another example of how the Bills roster has been deliberately constructed to take the ball out of Allen's hands in the mistaken belief that when called upon, Allen even with inferior & mismatched offensive players around him can throw a switch and play superman.  Only a defensive minded coach and GM would think that this was the best way to build a roster around a consensus top 3 QB talent.  

 

The fact is that McD & Bean do not fundamentally understand what Allen brings to the table and how best to use his talents to win championships.  It's almost as if they're doing the exact opposite of what would work best.  It's gross  mismanagement of a roster and I can't imagine any offensive minded coach screwing this up in the way McD/Bean have.

his glasses are irrelevant.  His inability to get players to run his defense effectively after all this time is the major issue with this team.  The whole tone of the game is set every week by the defense's inability to stop the run, football 101.  Evreything goes off that.  

 

unless the quarterback is superman and pulls miracles out of his hat every week which no one can do this team is in a tough spot because the defense can not do the basics.  

I’ll say it again, the defense gave us 23 points. Houston averages 22 points. We held them to a total well within a winnable range for a team that nearly leads the league in scoring, despite all the the turnovers. The run defense has its woes but I think the yardage is overblown. People perceive a 12 yard run much differently than they do a 12 yard pass. The running game gives us the perception that we’re being destroyed, while a routine completion for equal yardage is not nearly as criticized. 
 

How many 2-5 yard pass plays did we complete? They were no better than the runs for equal gain. In fact we regularly lost yards on passing plays. Do you think Houston cared if it was run or pass? You care about results in the end, punts, turnovers, change of possessions…and this was was a game the offense should have been able to win despite putting the defense at a disadvantage multiple times. 
 

And I still hate his glasses

I think the big picture is not about losing to the Texans who appear to be a playoff team with a very good D.. it’s losing to Atlanta and Miami.. otherwise the Bills have 2 losses and it falls under.. hey it’s the NFL. Those 2 losses are where the season has been lost.

You can't win an NFL football game when your pass game looks like this.........  You just can't.  To not take even 1 shot down the field, whether it is completed or not, is just unforgivable, especially when the Texans are playing 8-9 guys within 10-15 yards of the LOS.  And all Brady does is run mesh over and over again right in front of them.  What does he expect to gain by doing this?  This isn't college where your WRs are just better than the defensive backs and they can just outrun them.  This is the NFL and you win games with explosive plays, not running east and west every single freaking play.  

 

This is an embarrassment for any coordinator let alone one with Josh freaking Allen at QB.

I agree that drive the Texans had before the half after the long kick-off return cannot happen,  but it just seems like Babich went to prevent D and we all know how that ends.  Overall our pass rush was trash and Bills just don't have the talent in their secondary to hold up with no rush
