My thoughts:

1) Relax the rest of the season, this is not a Superbowl team.

2) This is the same exposed team we saw in the two losses before the bye.

3) After this season, yet another season that we waste prime Josh, it's time for McBeane to go. The roster building is flawed and the HC seams to be losing the players. Today's effort was inexcusable.

(4) As for Josh, he is just not himself. I don't know if it is getting married and making big time commercials during the offseason, but I don'tsee his usual swagger. Even on the rare occasion someone is open, he is often off target and hesitant to run. He's also likely dispirited with the lack of receiving talent and Brady's inability to scheme against man coverage.

5) All these injuries cannot be just bad luck. Have we gone a game with a long term loss of someone?

Excellent post, the most incriminating picture for Sean was his exasperation with his LBs and secondary missing tackles and allowing long 3rd down conversions. If this guy is a defensive minded coach and his defense can’t tackle and commits stupid PFs and other asstd penalties, why would we keep him. His personnel input? His defensive game planning? He’s a problem and so is Babich.

Allens cost is not the problem. Its the excuse. Plenty of teams are paying franchise QBs and still find room to pay other stars. We got Allen on the cheap too.

Allen is definitely NOT "on the cheap."

If the Bills beat NE and then NE loses to either GB or Baltimore we lead the division.

So much ball left to be played

While true - look at who NE plays still compared to us.

  • All three turnovers were drive killers that took points off the board.  The Dolphins two turnovers were arm punts I guess.  They let them stay in it and keep their confidence.
  • Josh was not taking some easy throws early.
  • The first 4th and one of the game sucked
  • The Bills have missed more than typical 4th downs this year.
  • The Bills cannot get a 2 point conversion.
  • The defense continues to let big run plays against them, poor tackling, unwillingness to commit to the play physically.

Idk what the callers said but from my own perspective, it is absolutely fine to criticize Allen’s play. He did not execute at the level he needs to in order for this team to win. It was by far his worst game in a long time, despite the garbage time passing numbers. That does not mean he isn’t elite, and that there are many other factors at play, but those ailments don’t excuse his lack of execution too. He’d be the first to tell you,

What prompted me to punt the radio was the caller's sole complaint that Allen wasn't cheerleading the troops.  He was just sitting quietly.  No critiquing his game or errors, just that he wasn't 'rah! rah!' enough.

one responder said I don't know football. I can except that but I would like to see the tape of the game and check it out

I don't know if you know football or not. What I can tell you is a few still shots from the all22 doesn't tell you much of anything. You don't know where receivers are supposed to be. You don't know what Allens progression assignments are. I'm not saying Allen doesn't miss guys sometimes, all QBs do, but a few screenshots of some guys that look open on a still shot say nothing. Were they open at the time of their progression? Were they even part of the progression at all? Did Allen have pressure he was worried about? Did Allen have a throwing lane? Did they come open after Allen was commiting to another throw and the defender knew it? Nobody knows.  Its a lot more than just some dude looking open on a still shot. I only looked at them briefly, but at least one of those, the guy marked open was not open. The DB would have closed easily.

Any possibility that John Perry and McD can execute a challenge ?? Very likely a reversal on the 3rd down play that would have saved 2 1/2-3 minutes and improved field position

He’s never been like that in my recollection. Josh was not the problem today. No one can get open 😔

the problem is at this point, even with a good gm i think it would take more than a year to make much of a dent in the roster...with out a fairly good tank

Yep, of course it would because Beane has several bad contracts that would hamstring a new GM even if Beane got canned.

I think part of the problem is that Allen has lost a step (or maybe just half a step) and he’s having trouble adjusting.  He’s not able to evade the rush like he used to, and he’s not keeping defenses honest with his legs…throw in Brady’s atrocious offensive scheme and you’ve got a real problem.

Don’t get me wrong; Josh has another 10 years as a franchise QB, but things have to change.

Again, my turning off the radio had nothing to do with any player's performance or attitude.  It was strictly because of the asinine complaint by the caller.

And Beane is not going to change. He will not draft or trade for a top WR just to spite us and to boost his ego.

Yeah he’s doing this to spite the fans.  They sucked today but is that really any reason to become completely irrational?

Can we just recognize the fact that you only have 48 men to roster on game day

And that we went in with four defensive ends.. and our third round pick who has been deactive all year but on the roster finally gets his chance

And literally hurts his knee on like his first or second series...

Then we're down to three defensive end of the entire game

That's really really tough..
