  1. Great runners/pass catchers are rarely great blockers. If a guy is a monster in the red zone(16 TDs) and gets 1M on 200 carries, and a matchup nightmare catching passes against LBs and safeties. you just live with his blocking deficiencies. Henry and Barkley both come out on obvious passing downs. If you’re a good fan, stop dwelling on blocking and acknowledge what this guy has accomplished and his trajectory. What do you care about whether he gets 14 or 15 a year. It’s what is guaranteed and we need a great running game in Josh’s prime(28-32).
  2. Do you need an interpreter? It means exactly what it says. Cook’s first three years are better than any back making more(Henry, Barkley and McCaffrey) with his production and health (availability)and team accomplishments. He should get a second deal soon.
  3. Name the Alabama/Wisconsi back not named Henry, who’s incidentally 32 and making 15million, in the NFL the last 10 years, who is as productive and as durable as Cook. Don’t be misled, Beane’s reluctance to pay Cook is because he played fast and loose with FAs on PEDs and extensions to CBs who could lose a season with one more concussion or TEs who have no receptions but are good friends with Josh. If Cook plays on the same trajectory as the last 3 seasons he’ll be more expensive than extending him now.
  4. Why such a critical bent towards a guy that has been better each year with tremendous production. He’s not a traditional smash mouth runner but what back in football was better in the red zone. Instead of acknowledging his nose for pay dirt you prefer to call his season an aberration. Please don’t compare Motor or Moss to Cook. Cook has been better than any back in football his first three seasons considering health and production. I’m so tired of using his pass blocking as a knock against Cook. Josh had 8 sacks the whole year. If we want to take advantage of Cook’s skills, Brady has to isolate him on LBs and safeties in the passing game more, get him out more on screens and make him feel wanted. You’re deluding yourself thinking you can just insert another back and not take a step backwards. Singletary and Moss were just OK and any success we had was due in large part to Joshcentric offense with Diggs,Davis and Beasley producing in their prime. I think 2 to 3 more attempts a game for Cook is the sweet spot to maximize production and keep him fresh for the postseason.
  5. Great take, the idea of stringing this out just because his history is not resigning RBs for big money after their rookie deal is fine with questionable backs but Cook’s 3 years is better than any back in the league from the standpoint of production and staying healthy.
  6. A week before camp is fine because this window between now and camp is the cheapest Cook will ever be. It needs to happen before the season starts.
  7. My prediction is if Cook has a season with more carries and more production than last season, teams will be lining up to give him 15million plus. Beane is steadfast about not paying him now but when Josh has an underachieving running game with less of a threat to break a big run, the offense will be limited to mostly Josh and the passing game. That’s not the formula we used to make him the MVP and get to within a win of the SB.
  8. Why is there anyone who disagrees? If we blow this and he leaves, we’ll truly be wasting Josh’s prime years.
  9. Stop worrying about Terry’s money. Cook is the best back in the AFC from the standpoint of youth/production. Beane hasn’t established he won’t spend on him, just not now. One more big year everyone on this board will be on board with a second contract. I say do it now and save cap space.
  10. Are you forgetting Cook is only 25 and he outplayed Henry in the divisional head to head in the biggest game of his career.Give Cook more touches and you’ll see more production in yardage and TDs. Beane is mishandling this negotiation. He could have had him for $42 for 3 years with $35 guaranteed. How many mediocre backs have we had since Thurman. Even Lynch, who was good, was crazy when he was here and had to go. Sign Cook before he has another great year and he becomes even more expensive.
  11. Nice to be arbitrary, but do you think he’s been a good tackler or aggressive enough. You remember him on the biggest stage against KC , having control on an apparent INT, and watching the receiver taking it away from him with more want to. He hasn’t shown anything and his stats on tackles, breakups and assists bear it out. You want to ignore what’s plain to see, that’s ok.
  12. The reason you feel that way is because Bishop doesn’t pass the eye test. He’s soft and often out of position on pass coverage. I’ve yet to see him put a hard lick on a TE coming over the middle or plug up a hole against a big back like Henry or Mixon. The reluctance of oblivious fans to accept what they see, not withstanding, we need a more physical and aggressive safety. Beane hangs his hat on the Allen pick and he’s had some other great picks and acquisitions(Cook,Brown, Benford, Shakir, Oliver, etc) but he’s also had some clunkers. Elam, Miller, Kincaid, and Bishop come to mind. I haven’t given up on Kincaid but Bishop just doesn’t show any of the attributes of the kind of safety we need.
  13. Get ready for an injury riddled experience with Bosa. He never plays in the latest iteration of his career. The reason he is here is because he signed a one year deal at a reasonable price, but this is justification for Cook demanding an extension. Cook has done nothing but perform at a top 5 RB in football level for 3 years without injury and he’s only 25. You want to say an edge rusher is more important to a team than a guy who scores 16 TDs and runs for a thousand yds on 200 carries and averaged 5 yds a rush and is a weapon that in the passing game. Only if that edge stays on the field and produces.
  14. Josh Allen is the epitome of the Clint Eastwood, Stallone unstoppable force Everyman hero, dressed in a Bills uniform. From the time he hurdled that LB against Minnesota.Every fan who endured 3 decades of substandard QB play and seasons ending in the middle of November, saw this young mega talent as the savior of family’s hopes and dreams for the next 10 to 15 years. Sure enough he delivered.
  15. If Kincaid is a talent that warranted a first round pick it’s now or never. There is also the troubling fact that after paying Knox as a top tier TE, Brady hardly ever designs plays for him in the passing game. What a waste if you’re going 12 personnel in a meaningful percentage of plays. Kincaid has been ok but his college performance was exceptional so what has been the problem. Is our coaching the problem because the TEs have been lacking?
