JoshAllin Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I always liked cook but with Hawes and Gillian he's become unstoppable https://www.tiktok.com/@film.watchers1/video/7569044524002020639 1 1 Quote
BVBILLS Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Cook has been amazing! Props to the Oline, Hawes and Gillian too. I wish the Bills had a better option at backup running back. It looks like Ray Davis has taken a step back. Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago We have 2 legitimate top tier players in the team. 17 and 4. There was no reason to play around with the contract. There was no reason to ignore how great this guy is. If he got the ball 35x in a game it still wouldn’t be enough. The guys been the best player on the Bills this year which is saying something 1 Quote

The Jokeman Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I'll admit I was resistant to re-sign him but that was with the talk he wanted $15 million per season. Then the whole hold in thing kind of made me more angry. Though glad our GM and his agent met to a fair deal and let us keep one of the best RBs in the league. Quote
BuffaloBillsGospel2014 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I was always in the corner of re-signing Cook just not at 15M so to me he'll be worth every penny if he keeps doing what he's doing and hopefully they start incorporating him in the passing game also, it's truly infuriating me that they don't. My only concern is that there isn't much running available other than the Ravens in the playoffs, even Barkley had only 57 yards on 25 carries in the SB, Hurts was the leading rusher with 72 so that is why I was hoping for another weapon for Allen to throw to if the run game wasn't working that well but hopefully that weapon will be Cook. blacklabel Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago He's been insanely fun to watch this season. Every week I'm like, "welp, he'll probably get slowed down this week" not to the point of like 13 carries for 11 yards or anything, but more like, "he won't be breaking so many runs that go for 7 or more" but then he does. There he goes for 14, 8, 12, 7, 9, like almost every time. His vision is really good and some of the OL guys have talked about how he's really skilled in the way he sets up his blocks. He's shown improvement every year. I remember his first couple of seasons he was a really easy guy to tackle, often going down on first contact. But then he said his prayers and took his vitamins and now he breaks tackles and runs over dudes. Quote

I was trying to think of a Bills comp but Cook is completely unlike the best Bills backs of the past: Gilchrist, OJ, Cribbs, Thurman, Beast Mode, Fred Jackson... Quote

I thought 10 11 12 was maximum In our system with our team James Cook is worth every penny.. tremendous draft pick... Tremendous scouting for system fit Closest thing since a Chris Johnson since Chris Johnson He's on Pace for over 1800 yd and like 14 touchdowns... All pro This is going to prolong Josh's career and prolong the bills window... Having this kid who's going to be on a tear for the next 3 or 4 years His vision and speed and even finishing power all shines every Sunday... He runs effortlessly, he makes people miss in a phone booth.. he's knocking helmets off James Cook like Thurman is going to run us into the Super bowl powered behind this offensive line captained by Josh Allen He's playing like an all pro I was at the university of Colorado during the Broncos Super Bowl winning years with Elway. This is exactly how they talked about Terrell Davis. Elway was elite without the SB win and then Shanahan found TD and they rode the running game all the way to the promised land. I feel like their defense was a little bit better than ours currently so we shall see, but sure feels like the offensive formula is there. 1 Quote

Cook is doing it in the #1 offense over the last 5 years. Allen is also an MVP candidate. There is no scenario where a RB has a shot at MVP when on the same team as a QB candidate (CMC should have won and didn't for this reason). Cook has been playing terrific, I wouldn't want anyone else here, and we'd be worse without him. However, it is entirely fair (and accurate from my viewpoint) for an external observer to say that Taylor means more to the Colts than Cook means to the Bills this year. I agree no running back should win it, and there is no bigger JTay fan than me. He is the rare thing.... a running back I thought was worth a 1st round pick (even though he went in the second) and he and Jimbo have elite vision in common. But Cook has been right there on a par with him in terms of performance this year. You say that Taylor means more to the Colts but in the two lesser Cook games (Pats where they dud a nice job on him, Falcons where Brady inexplicably got away from him) what did the Bills offense look like? Cook is more important to the Bills offense than I'd like him to be.... I think without him we are pretty stuck in neutral. Quote
smward8 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If I remember correctly, when Cook was drafted one of the talking heads commented that the Bills offense was going to really improve with him on the team. It took a couple years, but he was right. Quote

Anyone who had that take should be here to eat crow. Cook's vision is absolutely elite. That is always what wins for running backs. A bit of speed is nice too. Size is good if you can find it. But vision always wins. He was underrated the last two seasons by a large chunk of Bills fans. He is without doubt a top 5 back. Just curious, who do you have in that group? From the top of my head Barkley, McCaffrey, Taylor, Henry, Gibbs, Robinson and Jacobs deserve consideration. So Taylor, Robinson, Barkley, McCaffrey, Cook? Quote

Taylor, Robinson, Barkley, Cook and Gibbs would be my 5. I am a bit of an ageist (as is known) and McCaffery's 3.5 yards per carry isn't buttering many parsnips anymore. 1 Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I didn't want to the Bills to pay Cook not because of Cook, just because of the RB position. But seeing him play this year where they give him the workload, he's special. Definitely appreciate him now. Quote
ddaryl Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Yes we need to appreciate Cook, whom I feel actually upped his game this season. I was not all on board with a big contract for a RB, but Cook is making the crow I eat alot more tastier Everyone needs to remind thmesleves the reason we could not do a big deal and bring in a high quality WR is because of Cook's contract. I for one appreciate that we kept Cook over having more money to go big and sign a top receiver at the Deadline. Quote
