It's not like Gabe is going to be any sort of revelation at WR and if he could be a positive contributor it is only going to be if he is 100% healthy. Probably best to try to get him going in December so that he can slowly ramp up and if he has anything maybe he can be "Big Game Gabe" just once more? 2 Quote

Although it will be hot, there is a huge difference between 94 with a heat index of 110, and 86 with a heat index of 93. Sidetrack: just for S&G, and because it's almost Vet Day (I'm not technically a vet): We used to have consistent heat indexes of 140 in IZ (no kidding), and I usually carried about 60+ lbs of gear, ammo incl. AFG was better. The poor bastard grunts would carry even more than that, day after day after day. Just un-freaking-believable. Studs all. Now, imagine @hondo in seattle, buttoned up in an armored box, w that kind of heat, and crazy winds, and god knows what. Cav rules. Bitching about it completed, lol. 2 1 Quote

DSK, I have an idea of what you've done and you're a vet in my book. You've seen more hairy stuff than this vet has! And since you bring up heat... In the first Gulf War, my Cav unit was deep in the Arabian Desert, far from any official weather stations so I can't say precisely how hot it got. Some soldiers showed me thermometer readings in excess of 140 degrees. Now, these weren't scientifically calibrated thermometers, and I wouldn't swear to their accuracy. But I did see a weather model once that estimated the deep desert where we were at got to 115-130 that summer. The ambient heat from the sand, vehicles, etc. made it feel even hotter. And yeah, when you sat in an armored vehicle, you felt a bit like a turkey roasting in an oven on Thanksgiving. But when it got that hot, we tended to lie around semi-comatose if we could. Even small movements like swatting away flies required too much energy. We didn't have to play football, and that heat discrepancy on sunny Florida days gives the Fins an unfair advantage, which kinda sucks. Quote

Reading between Josh's pressers and coaches statements, I think we can conclude Josh is not trusting Coleman, Moore, maybe not 100% on Palmer etc. He's going to need to see clear signs those guys are getting open before throwing the ball. Even though guys like Coleman have traits that "he's open when he's not open." Davis has Josh's trust - in the past - even though Josh has been burned from time to time due to that trust. But the Bills offense then is more passing oriented so you can afford a miss here and there. Now the Bills offense is more of an "on schedule" type offense where most of the times you have one chance for a passing play to keep the chain moving. Trust becomes important where high percentage plays are the norm. Thus guys like Shakir, Kincaid flourish. From this perspective, we are all intrigued by the prospect that Davis can be a trusted target for Josh on the outside and the ripple effect of drawing a safety to free up the middle of the field for Shakir and Kincaid. 1 Quote

By far the most informative NFL message board AND the most respectful that I've ever come across. Glad to be a part of something special here and look forward to one day celebrating a Super Bowl victory right here with all each and every one of you. That said, SQUISH THE FISH!!!!! 1 Quote

TPS Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 1 hour ago, PoundingDog said: Yes and it sounds like a month away type of vibe ... The nice thing about him being on the PS is they can play him 3 games before having to sign him to the 53. When they think he's ready, bring him up for one game, then give him a couple weeks before they do it again. Give him enough exposure to see if he can help a playoff push, or not. Quote

I don't doubt it is possible that Gabe can make an impact, but I also think the only way he is going to make an impact is if he is as healthy as possible. There's no need to rush him back in November if you can wait a month and get him back healthier. I do think it is unlikely Gabe will change the complexion of the offense but he could be a positive contributor. Quote

I think 56 has lined up at DT for only a few snaps per game, and I never saw him as a standup A gap MLB. I will look for this usage in sundays game. @Not at the table Karlos is right on this one. He played plenty of snaps as the 3rd DE in the NASCAR package on obvious passing downs or 3rd and longs. He was their chess piece plenty, just not as visibly active pre-snap. There was even a play he dropped from the A gap into the cover two deep hole on 3rd and forever. I think he’ll be the guy again. 1 Quote
