boyst Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Some of us have been here a long time to see things like Retata, Rebecca Black's Friday, spearing contests, and the SteveStojan word filter. Beyond that there have been some funny moments around here where the horseplay made a lasting memory. What is yours? Mine is when @Gugny changed his name to FigNewtons matching another poster Fignewton - with the same icon and all - to play a joke. It was genius, especially in the shoutbox when Gug was saying outlandish things. The funniest part of this memory was that Gug did not realize he was stuck with that name for 6 months and could not change his name back. So, go ahead, whats yours? 2 Quote
Mark Vader Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I can't remember who it was, but I enjoyed the re-caps of every episode of American Idol, from this one poster who had the most creative takes of every contestant's performance. Funny stuff. Quote
LabattBlue Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Retatta & Homework threads were all time greats. 😂 Quote
boater Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Not my story, but TSW lore: Belinda. Posters were harsh back in the day. The poor gal disappeared after her inquiry about no message/subject line only posts. Quote
RkFast Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago (edited) As many of you know, the original "mafia" was: THE SPANDEX MAFIA I still ride lots BTW. Road, mountain, fixie, you name it. Anyone want to discuss all things cycling, Im your huckleberry. Edited 5 hours ago by RkFast Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) The entire Dunkirk Don saga with building a new stadium east of Buffalo was pretty memorable. There are some great running jokes, like Tremaine Edmunds age, where certain guys went to college, etc. Memorable threads like the Jeremy Maclin watch that turned into a list of favorite recipes, or the Ertz watch. SinceThe70s Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I love a good troll thread. At it's height Spags/Howard was my favorite. Another I remember was when we were looking for a QB and there was a thread about a French QB playing in a European league that was touted as a can't miss by the OP. Good times. Quote

Augie Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Not the happiest, but maybe the best was the WhoTom farewell. That was grace under fire. 2 Quote
UConn James Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Been around since the early days and every version & host of this board. We've built up quite a community here in the last coming up on 30 years. Unbelievable when I say out loud... 30 years. Miss a lot of the old regular posters. NJ Sue. Homework. IYKYK. The LOST (tv show) discussion thread after each episode. We had a user here tgreg who worked at that Bad Robot production company but did not work on the show. The thread had a really huge page view count because people everywhere came to read it here on TBD. Truly a cultural touchstone time that has not & will not be repeated. EmotionallyUnstable Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago Thinking back on this, maybe 5 years ago or so: there was a poster who left his phone out and his wife posted some major rant about how he ignores his children and family to be on the board. Quote
