My first show was at Nassau Coliseum, Spring of 92. I knew NOTHING of this band. I worked in college radio and "hired" a guy...now my best friend...to do a Dead Show. He hooked up with Dennis McNally and got an interview with Bob Bralove, who was managing the band's hi-tech stuff in the 90s and he decided to bring me. We did the interview in NYC and then McNally took us backstage pre-show! Met Mickey and Vince but didnt see anyone else. Got THISCLOSE to Phil's rig and Mickey's beam. We wondered out to the front and the carpets on Jerry's side and were quickly told "nobody goes on the carpets" and we quickly retreated. Then we left, off to the parking lot for a typical pre-show. "Eat this" my friend said and that was that. Show started with a nice Greatest Story and everyone was dancing and I was like...this is weird. I was a metalhead at the time...still am...and Im used to an entire crowd trying to kill each other...not dance togehter. Finally Jerry did Jed and with me now in orbit from what my friend fed me...when Jerry sang "My Doggie turned to me and he said lets get back to Tennessee, Jed!", I just thought to myself "OK, I get it." And on the bus I was. There is A LOT of the "Dead Show Vibe" at Bills game tailgates. The crazy big crowds, everyone walking around, different little "events" and places to visit happening all over the place, and of course everyone walking en masse up Abbot into the game reminds me so much of walking into a Dead show. I know Im in the minority but I have no interest in The Sphere. First off, its Vegas which isnt my vibe for anything, much less a Dead show and second, I like to watch the band, itself and rarely have any use for the "graphics" any band puts up on the screens. YMMV.

Ill put 89 up there as one of the best years. That entire RFK show from Philly is bananas. Although I didnt get on the bus, myself until 92 I got to 8 Grateful Dead-proper shows. What an event they always were. And same..but to a little bit of a lesser extent, were all the shows from all the iterations of the band that came after 1995. I like D+C a lot, even moreso with Lane on drums becuase...lets face it...Billy was kinda done.

As a Knicks fan, I wouldnt mind liking Haliuburton but that choke thing he did was over the line. I hate the fact that the Knicks have such a terrible home court, despite how much the organision thinks they dont becuase a lot of celebs go to games.

Im dissastisfied with my job, but that's solely based on the fact "Im too old for this..." has become a mainstay of my personal vernacular.

Jeremy White bases his whole radio personna on a "WR TRAIN" and when the topic comes up direct with the GM, he folds. THAT was his opportunity to speak direct to the GM about the fact this WR room is substandard compared to virtually every other top team in the league. And he whiffed. This is what happens when you have a press corps thats a social club full of fanboys/girls. Jeremy doesnt want to lose access to the club room with the good sushi, I guess.

White and Joe HAVE TO call him out on the WR thing NOW!!!!! If they dont, Ill lose a ton of respect for them.

I really wish Id see more "entertaining" stuff from Coleman ON the field.

Opens up options for both Matt and the Bills.

I REALLY hope post-career Josh Allen doesnt turn himself into a clownish buffoon for a paycheck, like the Mannings and Kelce's have.

Legendary NYC broadcaster and fellow alumnus of my alma mater, Adelphi U. We both worked at the school radio station WBAU, at seperate times. Met Al at a station alumni event in 2019. Super sweet guy.

Popping up on a podcast with sunglasses and a smug tone like Dirk Diggler after he was in the business for a few years. Reitering his demands and "standing on business" but "not trying to cause an issue." Either this guy, or his hotshot agent, is really stupid. Either way....bye Jimmy.

Josh Allen, right now is playing for one of the best-run and successful organizations in the NFL with solid ownership, a new stadium coming and a fantastic fanbase. If Josh leaves, hes a moron.

I like Mentour but when it comes to incidents/accidents, Juan Brown is tops. But this plane wasnt manufactured by Boeing.

Im talking about Butler the GM, not the coach. And I dont think its "whataboutism" per se. For me, its about putting in place a standard for individuals that does not make sense. Yes, as time marches on, society's tolerance for lousy behavior changes. But again...we cant pretend these guys are accountants, either.

IMHO, everything went to hell when Old Country Buffet went kaput and took their world-class training with it.

I recall an episode of "If the Walls in Buffalo Could Talk" podcast, where an assistant to John Butler was on and gave testimony that Butler literally destroyed the guy, regularly. You think this is limited to RI?

I think its cute that so many think these players are upstanding moral citizens and comport themselves like accountants when the cameras are off and go to bed and say their prayers after games and...for Heaven's sake....NEVER did anything "questionable" in college. Was Richie on the bad end of the spectrum and probably deserved a kick to the head from Martin and a reprimand from his coach? Sure. But lets not pretend these guys are choir boys, tho OK?

I hate how cramped the CRJs are and the fact that the carriers are pushing them on longer flights, but they are defintely fleet workhorses.

So help me God, right down to the ground!!! My friend flies the Airbus for Delta and I asked him if they did Airplane lines on the flight deck and he stated “Of course, we do.”

Some video coming out from another plane waiting to take off. The idiot pilot didnt "flare" the plane for landing AND didnt have the flaps down for landing. S/he just flew into the ground in a misconfigured jet. What basically happens is that a plane gets to about 10 feet above the ground, the pilot raises the nose slightly, cuts power back and the wings stop "flying" and the plane...usually gently...touches down. Im sure sherpa will quibble on the details here, especually being a former Navy guy (as he should), but thats the general idea. What appears to have happened here is that pilot didnt do that and just flew the plane into the ground, snapping the landing gear AND breaking the wing spar, which takes a TON of force to do. You can actually see the whole fuselage buckling and the wing spar snap.

Really? The USSR "fell" in a military confict in 1990? Wow, thats amazing.
