Special K Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Instead of running jet sweeps to Knox or Elijah Moore on short yardage plays, the Bills had the genius idea of going back to the play that has been money for them the past few years....the tush push. The Bills ran the play 3 times, and it would have worked all three times, if not for a formation penalty on one of the attempts. I never understood why the Bills shied away from using the play this year, but I am glad they came to their senses and reintroduced it to the Offensive game plan. Thoughts?? 1 1 Quote
loyal2dagame Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Probably had something to do with voting against the tush push being a legal play and being a hypocrite. Just saying... 2 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I always liked the tush push. It got shut down in that chiefs playoff game and in a few plays earlier this year. But I still think on 3rd and short it's by far their best chance to get the 1st 1 Quote

Smartest adjustment we made during the bye week. Dumbest adjustment we made all off-season was convincing ourselves the Chiefs broke the Tush Push just cause they stopped it a few times in the playoffs (including one they didn’t technically “stop” in the first place) If anything, make a small adjustment to the most effective short yardage play you’ve ever had as opposed to removing it entirely 1 1 1 Quote
947 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago It's a lot easier to execute a successful tush push when Chris Jones isn't on the D Line. Quote

It's consistent with the Bills lode managing Allen. Their lack of success in critical short yardage situations this season forced them to bring the play back sooner then I suspect they wanted to. At the risk of beating a dead horse what we're seeing is entirely by design and the resulting awkwardness is the players adjusting and the fact that this offensive approach will always seem a bit herky - jerky. 1 Quote
JerseyBills Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago agreed we've been automatic with it minus the Chiefs game Quote

Big Turk Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The Bye was a reset of going back to basics in many ways. And unsurprisingly, the basics worked pretty freaking well just like they almost always do with this team when they execute them properly. 1 Quote

I think this is the third time the Bills have been called for a formation penalty in a critical situation in recent weeks. In my view this is on the coaches. These guys are professionals, but that's a Jr. High mistake. It's a little like the time I saw a JV pitcher take a full windup with a man on first. The runner practically walked to second base. Quote

Ray Stonada Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Good to see it back. However we still need a variation for the Chiefs. Either a tush push to the right, or a fake tush push and then a pitch wide or a pass. Quote

I doubt that it is drawn up that way in the playbook or practice. Quote
fasteddie Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago (edited) After Josh got his nose broken, he probably called audibles to random plays to avoid his face getting smushed in again. Edited 52 minutes ago by fasteddie Quote

With that much beef pushing on each other I in some ways can understand why there might be some concerns about getting Josh hurt, but if it aint broke don't fix it !! It was a highly successful play for them last season, the only thing I hope they do more so is change it's direction from time to time so the opposition can't just expect it to go left every single time . Too that play might get Josh back to himself again because he hasn't seemed to be the same guy this season but I think given more time with the new pieces maybe they can get back to their high scoring ways . boyst Posted 17 minutes ago Posted 17 minutes ago It was total horseshit to call illegal formation on us when it's never called on anyone. That is all I have to say. Quote
