I don’t know where you think he’s gonna be a 1k receiver this year. Hes averaging 4 more yards a game than last year. He has a brutal drop%. He’s just a massive disappointment. I wouldn’t give a first for him under any circumstances tbh. BTJ almost hit 1300 yards with Mac Jones throwing him the ball. Some receivers make it work with bad QB play. They are called “great receivers” for a reason. I agree that I’d rather have BTj over Harrison, but I would give up a first for Harrison. Risk vs reward 1 Quote

Why do you all keep spreading parts of stories and editing it to fit your narrative? It's the same thing msm news does. Keon was mentioned along with a number of other recievers in the draft when Allen was asked the question Quote
Pete Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago (edited) Yes to Thomas, yes to Shaheed, yes to Olave. Beane has my blessings to trade for 1, or all of the above WRs ASAP. No to Meyers, Gabe, any slot WR, any WR who cannot separate. Edited 10 hours ago by Pete 2 Quote

At the same time, we’ve seen him perform at a Pro Bowl level and have a DESPERATE need at WR. I’d be willing to gamble at this point that the Bills can get the Pro Bowl guy back not the guy playing right now. The juice is worth the squeeze IMO. With that being said, I’d rather call Arizona and see what it would take to get MHJ and Budda Baker. It’s an EXTREME long shot but they need to start over. They need to move on from Kyler and tear it down. They have no idea what to do with MHJ and it’s been bad since he got there (like BTJ now). Baker’s name is always in the rumor mill. Would you (hypothetically) trade 2 1sts for them? I would. IF (emphasis on if) he has a torn labrum, would you still make the trade? Quote
Buffalo03 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 48 minutes ago, Alphadawg7 said: I am going to go on record here and say this: I have been a big Beane guy during his tenure, and I think he gets too much flak about the post Diggs WR room which there literally was not much more he could do outside of over paying for a one dimensional DK that would have cost us players this year and caused us to lose Cook too. So I don't think DK was the right move either. Very few trades are ones that are no brainers and near MUST do moves - and BTJ is one of those trades (if he really gets traded). It is such an obvious move for the Bills, that if BTJ really does get traded and the Bills were not in on him, then I think Beane and this regime are on the clock the rest of the year and we better at least reach the SB or I will be on the full regime change train. He is on a rookie deal for 3 1/2 more seasons, cost is not a problem. Youth, Size, Length, Speed, and Affordability - there has never been a more perfect scenario to add something like that an offense that sorely needs it. Even if the real BTJ is some where between last season and this season, its worth the price to get him because just the THREAT of him will dramatically help this offense. I don't care if it takes a package like we spent for Diggs or a first and a player, it will be worth the price to this team. This is a crossroads moment for Beane. Look, if BTJ doesn't get traded, then it is what it is. If BTJ gets traded and the Bills were at least confirmed to have tried, I can live with that. I mean we can't make the Jags trade with us, and they may not want to send him to play with Josh Allen in their same conference. But news better come out that we at least tried. Wait until he goes to the Patriots for a 3rd to give Drake Maye another weapon. Watch all hell break loose on this board then 1 1 1 Quote

If true, that would explain the short-arming & avoiding contact. He's probably frustrated with the quality of targets he's getting too. His stats while Lawrence was out last year were better than with him. Can you trade an injured player? If torn labrum, Thomas isn’t passing Bills physical Quote
Pecker Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Seriously, wtf is taking so long? Has there ever been such an obvious trade to make!? 2 Quote

Im all in on the Bills trading whatever to get a WR1, if available. That said, BTJ isn’t obvious. Hes been bad this year. Injury concern alluded to above, or he simply has mentally checked out on the Jags. If he played like this last year, we wouldn’t want him for a 3rd, let alone a potential RD1 they could be looking to see if someone parts with. Im open to Brian Thomas, but he and his situation is a head scratcher right now. 1 Quote

I don’t know where you think he’s gonna be a 1k receiver this year. Hes averaging 4 more yards a game than last year. He has a brutal drop%. He’s just a massive disappointment. He’s at 396 while playing basically 6 games (missed most of week 6). He’s on pace for 962 using a 7 game sample size. This is true despite them publicly saying that they need to throw him the ball more. I expect them, coming out of the bye, to throw him the ball more. He’s pretty much on pace right now. 🤣🤣 To be clear, BTJ looks disinterested THIS year not last year when he had almost 1300 yards. Harrison has looked disinterested the whole time and is going to have 1k yards. In terms of drop rate, that’s the most overblown thing in sports. BTJ currently leads NFL WRs in drops. I can’t seem to link it from Fox Sports. Lots of good WRs have drops. Chase is way up on the list since he entered the league. Below are the team stats as well. If MHJ accounted for EVERY CARDINALS DROP it’s roughly 1 per game. 🤣🤣 That’s not something to worry about. https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nfl/nfl-teams-with-most-dropped-passes-this-season-bm10/ Don’t get me wrong, I’d take BTJ in a second. If you’re asking who I think has the better career it’s MHJ. Edited 9 hours ago by Kirby Jackson Quote
starrymessenger Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I really have to wonder whether any of BTJ's problems this year have as much to do with his utilization as with quarterback play. This year the new brain trust in Jax wanted to increase his use in the slot to take advantage of his quickness and ability to separate, and indeed his slot presences have greatly increased. Well y'know the patterns you run from the slot typically attack the short and intermediate parts of the field between the numbers where there are more guys looking to take your head off. So you have to at least consider the possibility that he is limited to the boundaries with, functionally, a more limited route tree. For those wanting to send two firsts for him I would caution that, talented though he is, he's probably not J. Chase or Beckham Jr in his prime. In today's game one of the assignments for great X receivers is to emphasize their quickness and speed. Get the ball in their hands right away and let them take it to the house. Maybe BTJ can't really do that and maybe that's why as a bad scheme fit they want to get rid of him.Sure he can stretch the field (like Cooper could) but you would want your #1 WR to do more than that. As for his availability he is definitely available If the team has indicated that they would "listen to calls". Could well be that they would be amenable to a reasonable commercial deal rather than an overpay. Don't know whether it has anything to do with his troubles this year but if memory serves one of the "negatives" in his pre-draft evaluation was inconsistent motivation ie "not sure he loves football" type deal. Blew hot and cold. I might prefer Shaheed myself. I was concerned about his torn meniscus but he is fully recovered. He has logged the fastest game speed time recorded across the entire league this year - faster than Chase, faster than BTJ. And he has been an all pro in the return game. You'd get a good look and could decide whether to offer him a contract. Sure BTJ comes with an affordable 3+.year contract and fifth year option but let's be sensible that's not a freebie - you have to pay for that. 1 Quote

Buffalo03 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Am I crazy to think that since Josh wanted Keon that even if we traded ahead of the Jags last year in the draft that we still would have taken Keon over BTJ? Does that make anyone else sick thinking about it? 1 Quote
