Pro Bowl Games moved to Super Bowl Week

"The 2026 Pro Bowl Games will be an exclusively televised event broadcasted from the Moscone Center, which will transform into a flag football arena that. The NFL will move the 2026 Pro Bowl Games presented by Verizon to Super Bowl LX Week in the Bay Area.

"For the AFC versus NFC flag football game, the format will be 7-on-7. The game will take place on a 50-yard field with 10-yard end zones, with scoring plays worth the traditional six (6) points with a 1-point conversion from the 5-yard line, and a 2-point conversion option from the 10-yard line."

 

"Fans can vote as often as they would like to help determine the NFC and AFC team rosters and send the league's best players at each position to the Bay Area. Fan voting will take place across a variety of platforms. Player selections will be finalized by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group's vote counting as one-third toward determining the AFC and NFC rosters. The NFL is the only sports league that combines voting by fans, coaches and players to create its all-star teams. New this year, the league and its partners will collectively celebrate the AFC and NFC rosters in new elevated ways, including unique highlight packages, in-stadium moments, broadcast integration, helmet decals and more."

 

"Coverage of the Pro Bowl Games will begin on ESPN starting at 6:30 p.m. ET with the flag game at 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Feb. 3. The game will air on ESPN, Disney XD and ESPN Deportes. In advance of the flag matchup, ESPN will preview the week with a dedicated Pro Bowl show highlighting the rosters and player stories on Sunday, Feb. 1, airing an NFL Live special at 11 a.m. ET and more Pro Bowl Games content on ABC at 12 p.m. ET."

 

Okay, so... how will this affect the Pro Bowl players who will be playing in the super bowl? How will this impact ratings and viewership?

 

Overall, this is a big move for the NFL!

 

As of right now, I am not even sure if any Bills would make the Pro Bowl to be honest

honestly I think the NFL would like the real games to be like this eventually. Imagine all the scoring on a 50 yard field

I can't imagine it changes any of the Super Bowl Pro Bowlers deciding to participate.

 

Who would want to chance an injury in a flag football game or any other silly event 5 days before the biggest game in their life?

I kinda like the skills challenge leading up to the "game". I think they should do it where they do the skill challenge but it has to be at a position they don't play. Like Dawkins doing the QB challenge.

I didn't watch any games this past weekend since the Bills weren't on and TBH it was nice not having to see forty-eleven gambling advertisements.

 

The league is just desperate for attention and corporate sponsorship and going global and making their event calendar spread out all year such that they delayed the schedule release into May to add some buffer time so the talking heads could have something to fill their time with.
 

It's all just gone the way of packaged corporate dreck and I 🤬ing hate it.

Lol, the more the NFL tries to come up with a format people will tune in and watch the further they get from anything that anyone would want to see. 

 

Plus if you're that scared of players getting hurt- can't they can just as easily blow out a ligament during a flag football game?

They should change it to a homerun derby for the hell of it. I'd be more likely to watch that and there's less risk of injury.

The NLF Pro Bowl was reminding me of the NBA All Celebrity/No- Defense Bowl, or whatever they call it.
