He almost looked like he was gonna go back in the game last week when they were taping up his ankle but in McDermott's Monday presser I thought I remembered McDermott lumping him in with the week to week injuries. I could be wrong about that and hope to be corrected. With that said, it really looked like Palmer was poised for a breakout game. Unlocking him and getting the chemistry going between him and Josh would be awesome. I just keep going back to how Aikman and Buck in the broadcast were talking about how Bills staff discovered Palmer is a lot faster than they originally thought... You know and I know he will still be week to week, if not month to month (if there is such a thing). 8 hours ago, Bockeye said: AFCE runs through NE now. Sad but true. 1 Quote
oldmanfan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Negative Nancies will be out in full force all week. McD has a perfect record after bye weeks. I suspect this last week was used by Brady to recalibrate his play calling, and by McD and Babich to have a come to Jesus conversation about the defense. I foresee Brady getting back to things that worked last year like the 4 + 1 formation, and to make sure Cook is used more especially in the fourth quarter. I think we’ll see a more aggressive defense with more blitzing and stunts, and perhaps some personnel changes. So I’m not particularly worried about this week. The one thing that could cost us is injuries; if we’re missing both Palmer and Kincaid that will really hamstring the offense. But I don’t think our D will put up another poor effort. 2 1 Quote

I got two Endzone club level tickets for $273 each. Best value I could find. Upper level is around $175. Everything along the sidelines is $400+. I paid half this much for Miami week 17 two years ago. Quote

On the other hand, the Panthers eked by the Jets 13-6. Most of these results don't really mean anything... or as one of our posters here likes to remind us, "the transitive property doesn't apply to sports." 1 Quote
Gregg Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We all know come next Sunday afternoon between 3:30 - 4:15 we will all be nervous nellies during crunch time as the Bills will be in another nailbiter. Hopefully they end up 5-2. They should end up 5-2 but 4-3 is a real possibility and the Panthers run game vs the Bills run defense will be the main reason if 4-3 happens. 1 Quote

This Bills team has massive issues in all three phases of the game. We have all probably vastly overrated this roster due to Allen bailing them out over and over. We are now seeing just how poorly the roster is built and how pedestrian at best McDermott is. So of course, I just bought my tickets and flying down for the game! Any Charlotte TBD members with good restaurant recommendations? and that 10 points was against a backup D basically. Really shows how bad our D is from roster construction to coaching. Quote

When a player is suspended, they are allowed to practice with teammates and play in preseason games. For the first half of their suspension, they aren’t allowed to show up at the team’s facility. However, they are allowed to appear at the facility during the second half of their suspension in order to ramp up their work and get ready to resume playing. 1 Quote

zow2 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago The Panthers are coming in off a 3-game winning streak...and the Bills coming off 2 bad losses. I don't think this will be an easy game, but if it follows the NFL trends the Bills should be the team in this game that performs at a high level. The Panthers winning streak has an expiration date and that is this weekend. 1 Quote

That was a masterclass put on by the 49ers coaches. They embarrassed McDermott and company by comparison. As for the panthers, I echo others in hoping Bryce Young plays instead of Dalton. Quote

On this team it's amazing they were able to get through 3 weeks of practice and not get injured 😛 2 Quote

I don't know, Bryce Young has played OK during some recent wins. He'd probably have a superb day vs our passive secondary. I think I'd rather face Dalton. If the Bills can't play solid D against the Andy Dalton led Carolina Panthers then we should just call it a season. 1 Quote

The Bills record right now parallels recent seasons. They had the bye week to analyze the first 6 games and to figure out where things need to be fixed. From the comments in this thread it seems most think the coaches just sat with their thumbs up their behinds all week. Are there problems? Yes. Brady needs to look critically at what his calls have been and get back to what was so successful last season, and McD and Babich need to look critically at personnel and maybe make moves there as well as address the run D in particular. But it is factually true that McD is undefeated in the week after the bye, which suggests he is good at using the bye week to recalibrate. There are no super teams in the league this year. The Bills win Sunday they’re still one of the best in the league. 1 Quote

I mean, we should win it, but I think our Legion of Room defense is gonna lay another egg when it comes to getting off the field. It pains me to say... Bills 23 Panthers 27 I think this could very well be but the Panthers are a bit all over the place. We could also crush them because Josh and the boys are pissed at all the negativity. I have no feel for this game but I suspect it is going to be ugly even if we win. Quote
fergie's ire Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It is common for these McDermott teams to have a two game losing streak which everyone (here and in the media) seem to be pointing out. In an earlier thread, someone commented that McDermott's teams go on a tear after a loss, but someone pointed out that's not true and they often drop a second game. However, what IS true, which I don't see people mentioning is that McDermott teams DO go on a tear after the second loss. Here's the Bills record after a two game losing streak from 2020 on: 9-1, 4-0, 7-0, 6-1, 10-2 (and the second loss was the giveaway to NE). 3 Quote
