Dillenger4 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago If Strong was available I would HOPE McD would play Strong over useless Tre. Lots of hope floating around the Bills this year. Kind of a shame! Quote
st pete gogolak Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Legacy? You’re kidding, right? Did it tarnish Joe Namath’s legacy playing for the Rams? What? He played for the Rams? Did it tarnish Johnny Unitas’ legacy playing for the Chargers? What? He played for the Chargers? Tre White’s legacy is that he was an All-Pro corner who’s career was ruined by catastrophic injuries. 2 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Legacy? He was a very good player for a very short time. His legacy is unfulfilled promise decimated by injuries. Lets be honest he was never a lock down man to man shut down corner even before he was injured. Maybe he could have been but McDermott didnt play him like that. Maybe two or three games before he was hurt did he even shadow the opponents #1 WR. Again that may have been scheme. 1 Quote
DapperCam Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If you have a better CB available to start, then sure. Strong is out with a neck injury, Hairston is out with a knee injury, and it’s very possible White is better than Ingram. I’m not sure what you want here. 1 1 Quote
Mango Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Tre's poor play is drastically exageratted. Has he had 2 bad games? Yes. Has he had 6 bad games? No, lol. People are just parroting it at this point. He is the 2nd outside DB. He has largely been somewhere between "meh" and "fine" across 6 games. But people talk like he is just targeted on every single throw and responsible for our pass defense. Benford has been taken advantage of and he is our number 1 outside corner who we just paid. He has been glaringly bad compared to his expectations, pay, and role. Benford - 32 targets, 21 completions, 198 yards, 0 passes defended - 4 TD White- 20 targets, 14 completions, 113 yards, 3 passes defended - 1 TD I don't think either DB can count on consistant help from the safeties. Loads of people are out of position. 3 3 1 Quote

And he’s unplayable. I’d argue he’s unrosterable. He is constantly 15 yards away from receivers. He takes horrific penalties because he can’t keep up anymore with offenses. I can’t recall the last big play he’s made for us. White needs to retire for the good of his legacy. It’s such a shame to watch. I’d argue it’s borderline selfish for him to keep going like this. Is Damaging or Has already damaged??? He certainly needs to retire. Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He allowed 1 catch on 2 targets. There is nothing that can be said about Tre White that also doesn't apply to Taron Johnson and Benford. 2 2 Quote

Loads of people are out of position. This is exactly true. He hasn't been that bad. At this point, he's a mediocre NFL CB -- a JAG, but a legit NFL-level JAG. The people behind him are worse -- way worse. 1 1 Quote
Sweats Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago On his last leg, ready to retire, lost a step, can't play anymore?!?...........our team will open a spot for him All are welcome 1 Quote
RobbRiddick Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago He showed us he was literally over the hill on hard knocks but we never noticed Quote
TheFunPolice Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't think he was that bad. He's not the same guy he was, but he is FAR from the biggest issue on defense. Neither of our safeties can play. Our undersized LBers are always getting hurt. Our DE's are basically nonexistent. The real issue? The defense keeps bringing back guys it let go because the GM has FAILED to replace them. Last year we actually signed a guy who shouldn't/couldn't even play to the practice squad (Hyde). That was insanely bad roster management. 1 1 Quote
Mister Defense Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I said it when they shocklingly signed him this summer--and not for the vet minimum!! Done and not just as a starter--because if you cannot physically play the position you cannot be a backup at a spot where you are often on an island. Not like having a sort of done running back, like we had in Gore, as that is not going to be nearly as costly as a corner who cannot cover. It means a lot of 3rd down conversions, big plays, penalties and scores. Tre White is done as an NFL corner, NFL player. He was done last year. Clearly. Done this year. Can't be a starter, can't be a backup. Is done period. Beane and McDermott would never consider leaving him in there if he wasn't their boy, McD's first born (drafted) and the great 'culture' guy as Beane touted him when he signed him this summer (because he sure as heck was not going to tout his ability!). They need to wake up or they will be done too, and much sooner than most suspect. An awful defensive coordinator + an awful starting corner=a lost season. But time to change this dynamic. But now is the time. And time for Bills' fans to send this message somehow, and soon, loud and clear. Edited 1 hour ago by Mister Defense Quote
JimBob2232 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Lol. Agree he isn't great. But he is starting because we have nobody better! 1 Quote

Yup, if your going to bag on Tre (who wasn’t even supposed to start), you sure as hell better criticize Taron & Christian. The bigger problem is our entire secondary as a collective unit. They are a mess right now. 2 Quote

Seems like the Bills have been keeping his injury hush-hush a bit. Have I missed any news on this?? I think 2 weeks have gone by now... Edited 55 minutes ago by jlatas Quote

Funny thing is….I thought Ingram showed well last season. Shows how much I know. According to Joe Marino's All-22 review, you are correct! Ingram was very, very bad and would be a severe downgrade to Tre, if you can imagine that. 1 Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted 20 minutes ago Posted 20 minutes ago He’s actually surprised me with his tackling ability, as he was never a solid tackler even during the all pro season. Having said that, he’s currently barely passable as an NFL corner. The problem is, others are either injured or awful. Poor CB2 play affects Benford as well, as he’s played below expectations. Add in these two pet rocks we have at safety and you’ve got real problems 1 Quote

He’s on the roster. Try to see if he can move there, evaluate it and if he can’t move on Who is playing corner then ? Not how Bills planned this for sure. Tre was the Vet back up and surprised a few he could still play. and he has. But he is the Vet back up while bringing Hairston and or Strong. Aren't both injured currently ? Bring in Woolen ? Seahawks dude, somehow. I read that some where. But yea. its time for Beane's wizardry. Get out the credit card not sure about playing safety for Tre. 1 hour ago, TheFunPolice said: I don't think he was that bad.
