He elected to punt on 4th and 1 from the Colts 41 yard line with 4:13 left in overtime. He essentially was playing for a tie in a game the Bills HAD to win stay in contention for a playoff spot after 17 years of not making the playoffs. Also in a game where it had been extraordinarily difficult for either offense to move the ball due to the weather. He got bailed out by a miraculous offensive drive and that Shady McCoy TD run to win it, but I still maintain it was an absolutely moronic decision to punt in that spot. Despite his admirable regular season record, he is fundamentally dumb. You can not fix dumb. Wow, 13 seconds completely erased that debacle from my mind. 1 2 Quote
Ralonzo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The question I always ask is, "Is Coach __________ better than Mike Tomlin?" because that's the most mid coach I can think of. The Bills mental errors, poor game planning and game management and lack of scheme adjustment are reflective of the coaching. There's some validity to saying the QB makes the coaching looks a lot better than it otherwise would. It's gone on like this for a long time. I've said since before Dick Jauron that the play that most reveals your level of coaching is the screen pass, either executing or defending it. How would people rate the Bills with McDermott on that play? Quote
Joe Ferguson Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago A HC got fired after winning the Super Bowl two years prior. Why do the Bills not fire McBubbles? 1 Quote

That’s like on Seinfeld when George Costanza was trying to get Ted Danson money for writing Jerry’s pilot. Callahan is the Costanza of this analogy. So that I’m contributing to the discussion: I’m not interested in this poll right now, but I’ll be lining up to respond to the same poll after the season ends. This feels like the first year where I might get on board the Fire McDermott train. Obviously that depends on how the year goes. At a minimum, we need to see real improvement - across the board - for me to stay on board with keeping McD on board. Right now, none of offense/defense/special teams is playing at a contender level, and the penalties are out of hand. There’s still time to right the ship, but we have to be honest that the ship is capsized. Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Sorry. But those new glasses buy him at LEAST two more seasons. 2 Quote

I do wish McD had reached out to his old division rival after he got fired and offered him Frazier's replacement and turned the D over to him. Flores with a legit OC. 44 minutes ago, Joe Ferguson said: A HC got fired after winning the Super Bowl two years prior. Why do the Bills not fire McBubbles? This is the question. HC stability is overvalued by some. NHL and NBA understand the need for new voices. Philly got it also. Hopefully Pegs sees what PSU just did and is emboldened to act if things do not improve here. 1 Quote
BurpleBull Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Go ahead, start acting spoiled, get your wish, and wait till our asses go right back to being basement dwellers. Keep McDermott and do something about the O-coordinator, if anybody. I placed a bet on the Bills for the first time ever two games ago, it included James Cook touching the ball 16 times. Think he did? Nope. And then I read a write-up on TBD today about the Bills baffling usage of Cook, so I know that my anger wasn't unfounded or completely inspired from losing out on the bet I placed. Made me think for sure the game was rigged because it made zero sense, but then again, maybe the O-coordinator is just not a very wise person. We've gone from being dynamic to mundane in the span of two weeks. And who's bright idea was it to come out of the offseason without a real threat/ complement to Keon Coleman (whose selection I still at times question)? We've gotta stop with the stupid offensive playcalling, act like we run ***** in our division again, and hope to the stars that the defense catches up and looks respectable at the very least the rest of the way. Team McDermott unless this thing we've got implodes. 1 Quote

PauleeeWalnuts Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The McBeane experiment should be scrapped. 8 years is enough of a litmus test to see neither of them have what it takes to get this team over the top. 13 seconds should have been the breaking point since that was our best shot at a title. Poor execution, bad early round drafting, bad coaching and bad contracts all add up to being time to make a change. 1 Quote
DCofNC Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Should have been gone at 13 seconds, the next year confirmed it, and the year after that and it doesn’t matter bc they keep winning enough for Terry to not have to worry about it. They have officially made this the exact blueprint of the Panthers, a bend don’t break D that works when you have pro bowl DTs and Superman throwing to a bunch of rag tag WRs with a decent receiving TE who can’t block.. yep mission accomplished. All they need to do is run this MVP into the ground by providing no support cast bc the D is constantly in need of new toys and the whole thing will be destroyed. Just like Carolina. Quote
stevestojan Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago If the Bills had picked the wrong Josh in 2018, McD would be coaching a JV team in Medina. Quote
DJB Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The answers McDummy gave to the media today inspire zero confidence. He’s running it back wish no changes. Definition of insanity Quote
HappyDays Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago 4 hours ago, Pine Barrens Mafia said: Yes, but you can lose home field advantage by losing on October 13th, and that is very likely to cause you to not make the super bowl Oh I can't wait for that. We'll be fighting for our playoff lives down the stretch which means we'll have to go all out in every game wearing down the team. Then in the wildcard round we'll inevitably lose two key defensive players. Two weeks later people on here will excuse McDermott's defense falling apart because of "bad injury luck." Then in the offseason we'll have to invest more in the defense because "they were the problem." Round and around we go. We had a chance at the easiest possible path to the Super Bowl and we blew it. If they can't get the #1 seed with this schedule and this mess of a conference, they never will. 1 Quote
L Ron Burgundy Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago If we hadn't drafted Josh Sean would be gone. He'd be remembered semi fondly for breaking the curse but he would have been fired years ago. This team has no identity, no grit, and strategically are dumb. Unless we somehow have back to back perfect drafts we will not win a sb with him as hc. He's gotta go. I'm yet to see one good argument why he should stay. 1 Quote
