Brianmoorman4jesus Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Why does it look like our LBs are always so far behind the line? There seems to be so much space in the box. Pre snap you can see there are going to be holes. There’s nothing about this defense that makes an ounce of sense. It’s impossible to build on anything when you feel like the other team can’t be stopped. Even from a time of possession standpoint. It makes you feel like you can’t ever get behind. If you don’t think that effects our own offense you are nuts. The offense has so much pressure on them. Also why are we kicking off to start every game? We operate as if we make stops. We should be petrified of our own defense. Instead we play field position like we might be able to use it. We punt and 4 plays later they are already back to where we punted from. Does this guy watch the games ever? It’s like a rerun. Somehow we play the same game on defense every week for 7 straight years. It’s amazing how it’s always the same. I can almost tell you how a drive is going to go before it starts when the other team has the ball. You can feel it. It’s sickening Quote

Coach Tuesday Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 4 hours ago, Richard Noggin said: What about Allen's inability to get a quick snap off after Shakir's 3rd down sideline "catch" on their 2nd drive? I'm sure we had thoughts about that, right? Like how Allen should have just ran the simplest handoff or QB sneak in order to beat the challenge flag. Instead, it looked like they lagged to the line while Allen called out an actual full play wtf. Just run up under center quickly and dive forward for whatever. Secure the 1st down result. Mahomes is (and Brady was) relentless and unflinching in getting to the line and snapping the damned ball before the refs or opposing coaches can officially do anything about it. Convert a 1st down on a questionable sideline catch? Automatic quick game QB sneak. Boom. Who cares what happens on 1st down? It's all better than punting. Allen had too much to say by several seconds before snapping the ball. Gotta just burn that 1st down play instead. The refs wouldn’t let him snap it - he tried to run up to the line for a quick snap but they wouldn’t let him start the play. Quote

The d is still horrible, obv, but the o is fixable at least. A change in coaching on o might be a bigger boost, cuz Brady is terrible The offense has been bad because teams have figured out that you can just lock up the bills WRs in man because they can’t get open and Allen can’t run anymore. But they still have a lot of talent- good QB, RB, OL, TE (when healthy) so I think Brady and co. will figure some things out and steady the ship. The defense is just devoid of talent so they’re sunk basically. Average is probably their ceiling. 1 1 Quote

I trust, maybe with a new OC and one key trade (who then doesn't pick up an injury), the offense will sort it out. I think the issue with the defense goes far deeper. It's still a fact the D let the Falcons play down the field and get into scoring range. Which it seems to do all too often. I said during the game the issue with the D is it's too reliant on turnovers. Without them, it has little of note or benefit. In the stupid crazy world of sport this means the Bills will go to Charlotte and win in just under a couple of weeks. The point is you cant fix everything so maybe fix the one where you have an NFL MVP. 6 hours ago, GoBills808 said: Oh this is an extension of your Allen thing I see I should have guessed smh carry on Its not just about Allen. I am sure he had basically nobody open all game. But he also made bad decisions. I don't know why thats so hard for people to say. Quote
MikePJ76 Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Ha! Just saw Dan Fetes from Buffalo plus say he would take last years Von Miller over Joey bosa. the crap I have taken for saying that from day one. Brandon Beane loves to be on the radio and tv, he needs to answer for the dreadfully bad offseason. The defensive free agents were a pathetically bad group of players. Injuries to rookies are no one’s fault but free agent spending is beane’s job. i don’t know how you fix this defense during the season, especially if jones is out for the year. Quote
CirclnWagons Posted 1 minute ago Posted 1 minute ago (edited) I was absolutely shredded at the beginning of the year for saying the defense took a huge step back and Josh would have to score 40+ a game to keep winning. Hoecht and Ogunjobi were supposed to come in and somehow shed their career mediocrity to save a poor run fit defense. Now we can all agree, this is a .500 team who might luck up in some tight games and slip into a wild card slot. At least those of us who have been following the team even through the dark years are used to spending the season looking up at the pats. Edited just now by CirclnWagons Quote
