People wore them seriously in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s everywhere. People had them in multiple colors. Go look up old Legion of Doom photos. It was, unironically, the style at the time. We stuck with it during the drought to be ironic. I don’t hate Zubaz. As I said, I own some and have that 20 ft carpet that I got directly from Zubaz for a party. It’s just a drought era thing like table jumping. It’s lame. I don’t expect them to go away but this era won’t be remembered for table jumping, Zubaz wearing goofballs. That’s the drought.

I think most people correlate Zubaz with the glory years and Super Bowls of the late 80s and early 90s.  Not the drought years.

Maybe you've just been looking at it all wrong 😂

I think they were certainly mainstream in the Super Bowl era. There’s no doubt. The point was, everyone and every team had people in Zubaz back then. It was the thing. Everyone else dropped it because it’s lame. We kept it, and doubled down for the last 25-30 years. We made it “our” thing instead of “everyone’s” thing. I’m suggesting we should leave them, and the table breaking, behind. We should have dropped them when Josh became elite.

I completely agree about the table jumping.  I was never a fan of that.  I think with the Zubaz Bills fans were just so nostalgic for the 90s because we were so bad for nearly 3 decades that we were clinging to the past.  I think they are still around though to pay homage to the previous glory years

I’d push back on that. Traditions usually form organically - look at “Renegade” in Pittsburgh.

“Mr. Brightside” is something the players enjoy, the fanbase has embraced, and the players themselves participate in. That’s exactly how traditions take root. It wasn’t manufactured - it grew naturally.

Pittsburgh has been doing it for over 20 years, and we just copied them with a markedly worse song. I dunno, to each his own I guess. Not a big deal either way, but I want to be on the record as a "Shout" guy lol.

The Mr. Brightside thing started at Knox’s wedding. It was about as organic as it gets. It was literally driven by the players as opposed to the game presentation staff trying to shove it down your throats (like when they try to “SHAKE THE STTAAAADDDDDIIIUUUUUM”) at the start of the 4th.

And at one point in time Pittsburgh had never done it? Or had been doing it for 1 year? How do you think traditions start? Lol

If this is a white out, and nice temperatures at game time, how many farmer tans will we see on guys with beer bellies on National TV? I shudder to think about it.

White from head to toe?   How many people own white pants? 😂

I live in Massachusetts.  I tell my friends- “who wears Red Sox?  Besides Clowns and your Baseball team?”

Between that and those God awful uniforms in some college or USFL team’s colors, I’m glad I’ll be home for this one.

Quit screwing with a great thing.

EDIT: Because they are not as atrocious as the Steelers Bumblebee uniforms does NOT mean they are a good thing.

.

I knew this would be unpopular, but I saw the “Bills” helmet this morning getting decorated for this week’s game on FaceBook or something. I feel much better about my position - it’s ugly as hell and not a Buffalo Bills helmet.

We have some of the greatest uniforms in sports, and they will be wearing this mess instead. I hope this meets their revenue projections, because there is no other reason to do a thing like this.
