I edited my comment up thread, but I wonder if this is in reaction to some of the sales numbers around the rivalry gear? If white out was the plan why not announce it earlier?

This just feels like a push for more sales last minute which makes my brain think that maybe they are low.

But I will say it again. A real missed opportunity for a zubaz jersey. Still could have been white with Zubaz numbers. This city would have eaten them up.

Yes, they missed out on not having some type of zubaz design. Jerseys like that would fly off the racks.

The Buffalo Bills are calling on the best fans in the NFL to bring the energy and create an unforgettable atmosphere when the team hosts the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football.

Highmark Stadium will transform into a blizzard of white as the Bills have officially announced a full-stadium White Out for the primetime matchup. To match the moment, the team will take the field in their wintery all-white "Cold Front" Rivalries uniforms for the first time, creating a unified look with the fans in the stands.

Fans are encouraged to wear white from head to toe, while White Rally Towels presented by Wegmans will be handed out upon entry to help fuel the noise and intensity. Wegmans will also have Limited Edition Rivalries game apparel available in-store for purchase (Buffalo, Rochester, Southern Tier and Syracuse locations only).

It would be really cool if the Buccaneers wore their throwbacks for that game too.

They aren't but they are wearing their throwbacks for their game against Seattle. The Seahawks need to go back to these uniforms full time.

This week's game between the Bucs and Seahawks both uniforms look sharp.

At scale I like the premise, but I don't like the jerseys, like at all. Firm believer that they missed a real opportunity to incorporate Zubaz into the rivalry gear. They could have kept it white, but gone Zubaz numbers.

I am shocked they waited until Tuesday before the game to say anything. (Maybe even a little annoyed?)

Also I am wearing my home Tre White jersey and my Zubaz shorts to the game. I know, I know, white out....But it is my jersey for this season, we are 4-0, and I am not changing. To my point this team is way more entrenched in red and blue/zubaz than it is a "white out". This seems like a strange ask. If they had a "Zubaz Game" and loaded the Bills store with Zubaz only gear, they likely crank up sales waaaaay more than the white out.

I am curious if they waited until today to announce the "white out" based on sales being slow? Like if the white out was always the plan, why not announce it way earlier?  Or if jersey sales are on track, why bother, the crows is likely going to be white anyways.

I’ve been big on giving this team its own identity and their own traditions. Zubaz, the Shout Song, etc… belong to the early 90’s Bills. This era deserves their own memories and identity. The new stadium will be the biggest part. These jerseys, Mr. Brightside, and the legend of the game (despite using early 90’s sayings) are unique to them. They absolutely deserve that. It’s time to say goodbye to Zubaz. Maybe they never retire the Shout Song but if there was ever a year to say goodbye, it would be this year. Through the drought it was fine to pay homage to the glory years. This era, stands on it’s own.

I have no idea why they waited. It certainly wasn’t based on the sales being slow. They were sold out immediately and everywhere. I somehow was able to get it on Fanatics (with the sleeves) right at launch. I was the only one in our group of 12 that was able to get one.

I’ll be there section 128 row 10 and if my cold front Shakir Jersey is in my seat when I get there I’ll put it on.

Can you bring an extra pair for me? I need the ones with the extra room in the crotch.

The Shout song isn't going anywhere

Should the College teams also get rid of their long storied school fight songs in order for the modern teams to have their own identity?

This isn’t college where they turn over rosters every 4 years (or way less in the NIL era). Also, a lot of college teams have released new traditions over the last decade or whatever. The early 90’s team  was the genesis of a lot of this. The Shout Song probably stays but this era, absolutely deserves traditions that are unique to them. They don’t need to hang from anyone’s coattails. I actually find it odd that people are hung up on things like Zubaz. I own some. I even own a 20 ft long Zubaz carpet for events. That’s from the drought. That’s not the Josh Allen Bills. It’s time to move on.

I know I am the contrarian a lot, but wow if I had three things to eliminate from Bills lore Zubaz would be in the top 3.  Nothing good about that look.

The fact you believe anything you wear has anything to do with the team’s performance tells me all I need to know.

Now that's cool. The NFL should have games where both teams play in throwbacks more often. It's fun.

And yes, the Seahawks really need to go back to their original AFC look.

I agree at scale, this group deserves its own traditions. It is partly why I am not hyped about the red helmets/Giants jersey's. (In addition to the current just being flat out bettter)

But strong disagree on the zubaz. They can have their own without throwing out the old. Zubaz was a dead brand for a while, declaring bankuptcy in 1996. The only place you could get them through the early aughts was at Goodwill. The resurgence of the design across the NFL is in no small part due to this fan base the last 10 years.

Medium strong disagree on the Shout Song. It has become as much a part of the Bills as Sweet Caroline is at Red Sox Games. People even get excited about the Isley Brothers version at weddings.
