Why isn't he a head coach yet?

Spags?  He’s been a head coach.  He went 10-38 with the Rams years ago when they were in St. Louis.

Ravens NEVER commit to Henry when they play the Chiefs. They always seem to want to put it on Lamar’s shoulders and pass more than usual. It’s odd.

It’s almost as if … you can lure them into doing it, and then wait for him or his teammates to make a mistake, which usually happens. The Bills actually do the same thing, if you haven’t noticed.  The game in Baltimore last year, that was an anomaly; things just got away from us too fast.

Henry gets his carries against the Bills:

24 - 199

16 - 84
18 - 169

Compare that to his games against KC:

13 - 46

8 - 42

He wasn’t there for the AFCCG, but the Ravens abandoned the run in that one too and got criticized for it. KC stops the run better than we do, just by virtue of how many bodies they put in the box, but the Ravens don’t stick with it either.

Ravens aren’t done losing and I don’t give a sht about their defensive injuries. We played friggin KLEIN against Kelce in the playoffs so stop with the BS. I’m a Lamar fan but Lamar absolutely quit on his team and his teammates 100% are going to have an opinion on that. Zero percent chance Josh or Mahomes comes out of the game if they aren’t carried off the field. Ravens are in crisis mode big time. They’ve got 3/4 of a season to figure it out but they are in a huge hole and the L’s aren’t going to stop coming just because they are the Ravens.

You know how everyone here thinks Eric DeCosta is the best GM who has built the "Most Talented Roster in the NFL™?" Well, I just checked Purple Flock and Ravens fans want him fired for neglecting both lines.

So, the general feeling is that Harbough has to go. I would expect the damage control teams to be out in full force tomorrow and we’ll probably end up with him sacrificing his DC, like we always do.

But that’s good. It’s probably 1 less team we need to worry about in the playoffs. Thats a big deal.

Now we just need the Chargers and Broncos to beat up on the Chiefs.

Spags?  He had his shot 2x.  Rams 2009-2011 and Giants (interim) 2017
He took a 1-15 team (his 1st year) to 7-9 his 2nd year (missed playoffs by 1 game) then back to 2-14 his 3rd year.

A lot went into that, but his huge mistake was, when Pat Shurmer left to become HC in Cleveland, he hired Josh McDaniels as OC, fresh off disaster as the Broncs HC

Anyway, the story on him seems to be he's a brilliant DC who is over his head as a HC.

Like many coordinators are. It's a completely different skill set needed.

I was driving home from the game and missed the second half of this one.  I saw the replay of Lamar's "injury" as well as what happened as he went to the sideline.

Did Lamar really quit on his team?  From my vantage point, nothing happened to him, the trainers barely talked to him, and he just sat there.

That can't be what happened, can it?

And didn't he do something like that once a few years ago too?

Maybe he is injured and doesn’t have the push

4th and 3 they punted vs bills and he looked shook and injuried/limping

then lions beat him up last week so maybe he is just not 100% but he did look like someone who gave up

I don't doubt that he isn't a little beat up.  Oliver knocked the crap out of him. The Lions smacked him around.  And the Chiefs were doing the same.  However, if you can stand and throw, you stay in the game.  To me, and I could be wrong, I think he got frustrated and succumbed to an injury that most would play through.  I'm very curious to see how this plays out with his teammates.

We've all played with or seen that guy who suddenly starts limping or grabbing his shoulder when things are bleakest.  They can't admit they just got beat.  It has to be something else - an injury, the refs, the playing surface, anything but their own performance.

The vibe across the entire Ravens team is off right now. Fans were talking about how even long time veteran leaders who are always Rah-Rah guys were even hanging their heads when walking off the field early in the game.

Lamar started with an INT, and then his own version of the Butt (Back) Fumble. And then he saw starters dropping to injuries. And the vibe kept getting worse. So he came up with an "injured hamstring".

The mental weakness isnt just a Lamar problem, but that is certainly a place to start, as with any franchise QB.

Henry's reaction after his fumble in the Lions game was unbelievable. I was surprised there were no other vets going to him to pick him up, and instead everyone let him throw himself down on the bench and then pace around wide-eyed saying "oh my god, oh my god".

Between the playoff loss, and then week 1... Josh basically broke the Ravens franchise. With a little help from the Lions last week.

Did Lamar's 3rd MVP chances die in KC yesterday?

That performance in the 4:25 window with a national audience certainly feels like it.

He would have been fine losing, but 2 turnovers, a suspect injury and safety benching sure seems like it.

Ravens have Houston at home next who are also 1-3. If Lamar doesn’t play, they could fall to 1-4 with the Rams next. The Steelers have a legit shot of winning the AFCN.

Early playoff predictions:

BUFFALO

kc

Pitt

Indy

Chargers

Jax

Eager to see how that Houston D does vs Lamar.  He could be in for another tough day

Josh Allen won an MVP last year with an awful game in Houston.

Your last point here is the truth. The Bills broke the Ravens and the Lions finished the job last week. We tend to treat these guys like Madden players, who have a rating and always play up to that rating. But these are human beings, with all the emotional baggage that comes with that. The Best Roster in the NFL™ just looks defeated, and Harbaugh is in danger of losing the locker room. Another point; John Harbaugh's background is as a special teams coach. This means that he's a manager who has little to do with scheme on either side of the ball and is therefore dependent on coordinators more than most coaches. When they lose a coordinator to a HC job, they end up installing a whole new system which can necessitate personnel changes. This happens every couple of years.
