Chargers losing to NYG is huge

I’m not sure it was a good thing in retrospect, with KC looking like they got it in gear it might be better off to have the Chargers take the division and make it harder on KC in (or to get into) the playoffs.

Man, I really hope the dudes coming back from suspension & Hairston can at least elevate us to the level of 'average' on defense.

I hate that I'm even hoping for average.  But average might be enough w/ Allen running the O.

30 is not a remarkable feat. Basically every winning team that’s not the giants was at worst within one scoring drive of it

Another way to say this is ‘in one specific week of the regular season looking at  the half of the league that won, not even all of those remaining teams would’ve scored 30 if you gifted them up to 23% of the 30 total points 😂 last week, 5 of the winners still wouldn’t have scored 30 if you gave them 7 bonus points and one of them would’ve hit 30 on the nose

BTW, it seems like our field at Highmark is terrible. guys are always slipping.

Today it seemed really bad. Did anyone else notice this?

There were a number of slips today, but as I hear it, they are so committed to quality they are just going to replace the whole stadium for next year.

People need to chill out.  Much like Miami, I think the Bills made this game closer than it needed to be thanks to uncomplimentary football…and yet the Bills won by 12 points and scored 30+ again.

You can find fault in both the offense and defense.  The drive start for New Orleans was ridiculous in the first half and the defense surrendered 3 points…that’s good.  But they consistently gave up big yardage on the ground and allowed NO to keep drives alive which chewed up time.

Offense looked unstoppable at times but also stalled out for like 3 or 4 drives in a row.  Plus they botched a 4th and inches play which looked horrendous until you realized the new RT accidentally tripped on his pull.  STILL…in the end they put up 31 points.

So you can find blame on both sides of the ball.  It’s a good thing the Super Bowl isn’t played during Week 5!

I don’t think any bills fans have watched rattler play this year which isn’t helping the optics of this one too much…he’s looked good a few weeks in a row now and is getting talked about like he’s some fan that won a contest to start at qb 😂

I think the defense will be better than average if they can get back to reasonably full strength…better than average enough who knows though haha kind of nice Ed has been getting a break for these easier games…I think if we were in playoff football mode now Rapp might be getting benched but they’re probably trying to see if they can turn him around

deone walker playing well is a really good sign

I think it's always been middle of road field

Not bottom five, not top five... Just squarely in the middle and occasionally some people are slipping

But our team practices and plays there enough that they should know the correct spikes for the cleats to mitigate it the best

Currrently there are only 4 teams scoring an average of 30 or more points/game (in 2025):

Detroit: 34.25

Buffalo: 33.25

Baltimore: 33.25

Indianapolis: 30.75

In 2024, only 3 teams averaged 30 or more points/game: Detroit, Buffalo, Baltimore.

In 2023, only one team averaged 30 or above: Dallas.

In 2022, No teams averaged 30 or more points per game.

In 2021, only one team averaged 30 or above: Dallas.

In 2020, only two teams averaged 30 or more: Green Bay and Tampa Bay.

So, over the last 6 years, only 11 teams averaged 30 or more points per game. With 32 teams over 6 years, that means only 11 teams of a possible 192 teams accomplished that feat (or it only happened 5.73% of the time over the last 6 years---and that is if all four 2025 teams can maintain that rate for the rest of the year).

It may not be remarkable to score 30 points in an individual game, but to do it on a consistent basis is actually quite a feat. Since 2020 (5-1/4 years), the Bills have averaged 29.64 points per game. Since Brady took over OC, we have averaged 29.97 points/game.

No one in that building from the front office to the players should be anything but humble and hungry.

Beane needs to start figuring out how and where to improve.

3 of our wins are against teams that are a combined 0-10.  Now 3 of those losses are against us.  The Jets and Dolphins could easily have at least 1 win.

In Week 9 it starts to get real with KC.  The back half is not some cake walk.  At Pitt.  At Cle.  At NE will not be easy.  Tampa will be tough.  Philly.  The defense we’re currently playing is capable of costing us 3-4 of those games.

Im glad it’s not peaking.  I think it will get better.  But it does need an addition.

Our defense looks NOTHING like the Chiefs or Ravens when it’s healthy.

But I’m not sure how much of it is talent or the coaches.  McD brought a lot of new cooks into the kitchen to revamp that D this season.

Bishop picking off……Chris Olave was a great read.

But after him we just look SLOW.  Guys are open all over the field.  And the pass rush is still meh.

I’ll say this tho the Saints Oline is pretty good.

Slow for sure, but all the missed tackles worries me the most. The runners especially just bust through arm tackles left and right. Cook and Allen bailed the team out this week.

yeah, today for some reason I thought guys were slipping a lot. Off the top of my head, I remember both Palmer and Samuel slipping on routes, bishop slipping in coverage, the saints TE awkwardly slipping out of bounds, and even the Tre 4th down tackle on Kamara

seemed To be kamara slipping.

just seemed really unusual for such a nice day.

Rattler was the #1 rated QB in his class coming out of high school...he did not do well at Oklahoma(I think?) and then looked better but not great at South Carolina.

Definitely a guy that they expected to be better than he has shown this far when he entered college but seems like he might not ever get there.

He was OK at times, way too many easy inaccurate throws to open WRs, including the non-TD to Cooks

Yeah that did seem a little strange...have had barely any rain for months in the area so it definitely wasn't from rain.

What I think I saw:

1. Hated that INT Josh threw.  As soon as he launched that balloon ball, my gut said INT.

2. Difference between Saints and Bills is that the Bills don't make big mistakes late.

3. Loved the TD to Kincaid

4. The second period was BRUTAL.

5. The 4th down flip to Shakir should be immediately removed from the playbook.

6. Surprised the Bills have taken the tush push out of the offense. Or seemingly so.

7. That game was significantly more stressful than it should have been.

8. Give the Saints their props.  They fought hard all game.

9. Cook almost never looks like he is running and then he gets 6, 8, 10 yards a carry.

10. Glad Bishop got an INT.  Thought he played well.

He wasn't a dumpster fire at Oklahoma but he also had future number one overall pick Caleb Williams breathing down his neck

As a sophomore Oklahoma he threw 28 touchdowns 7 picks in over 3,000 yards

His senior season at South Carolina was 19 touchdowns 8 interceptions.. almost 69% completion 260 yards per game so he had a good season just not a lot of touchdowns

I mean, is it that he tripped on his pull or that he was even asked to pull on 4th and inches?
