Well..look at Derrick Henry now. He's not "King Henry." I was talking to my buddy thats a ravens fan, and I told him I dont understand why no one is talking about Henry not doing much in the playoffs loss last year then single handely losing the game to the bills week 1, and doing nothing against the browns. And then he fumbles again tonight. But everyone talks about lamar not being able to show up in big moments and wanting to fire Harbaugh. Henry gets zero heat whenever anyone talks about raven losses. 2 Quote

Rallied them back as much as possible, 48 - 42 (though it wasn't as close as the score looked). Still, he threw for nearly 500 yards & 5 TDs against us (with 0 turnovers). Goff isn't a weakness at all. And we won the game correct? 48-42 on our swiss cheese defense. I'm not saying he's terrible but I like my chances when you make them 1 dimensional. Quote

That just isn't true anymore. The guy threw 41 TDs last year and you don't think he did that throwing into some tight windows? This is like when people still call Allen reckless with the football. We have to adjust our perspective when players improve. Lamar is pretty clearly the 2nd best QB in the NFL right now IMO. But it turns out the Ravens weren't the super team that everyone thought. Their OL has problems in pass protection, Starks is making rookie mistakes, their front 4 just isn't talented enough, their CB2 is still a big question mark. I think their coaching has a lot to answer for as well. 1 6 Quote

Once again, shows QB rating means squat. 1 1 Quote

Looking at it as a better, he's probably the hottest bet right now. 1-2 and on a stacked roster. Everyone wants to win big on easy odds but he's not going to get those odds so they are getting in early while his team is 1-2 and can get him at +700 vs getting him at +200. Everything goes back to what the Vegas odds are so I'm not surprised. I think he will bounce back and do well this season but too many people use the national media, betting odds and stats to decide what they want. (I left out the other thing because that shouldn't matter, but it does). Quote

Yea it’s unfortunate…end of the season all anyone really does is compare stats. People will remember Goff had a great game tonight for like a month or so then move on sadly 1 Quote

They always put players head to head. Allen/Lamar. Allen/Mahomes. Brady/Manning. etc, etc. They don't even play against each other. Almost every other sport you have to play against them in both offense and defense but in football, nope. But you are held accountable for the rest of your team for some reason. 2 Quote

I think their coaching has a lot to answer for as well. No argument from me he's a top 4 QB without question. I think there is a tier where everyone is similar (Allen, Jackson, Mahomes, Burrow). But it isn't a coincidence the Ravens have the most blown leads of any team in the last 5 years or so, and he has had very little playoff success. It isn't because he's bad, but his play style doesn't translate as well. And I disagree, the majority of his passes are to players more open than I see on other teams, and he often times creates that situation by buying time in the pocket (which usually works out, but led to 7 sacks tonight). I saw a stat I can't find now, that the Ravens' pass catchers had the most separation of any team last year in the regular season and that matches the eye test. Quote

However he needs to be more stoic, impassive, and expressionless than he is. He too easily shows his frustration and anger and that's something the great QBs rarely do. 36 minutes ago, BigDingus said: Goff isn't a weakness at all. Agreed. Before this era of athletic, mobile QBs who could extend plays, the prototypical QBs were big, immobile guys with big arms and the ability to make every throw like Brady and Manning... and Goff. 28 minutes ago, Simon said: The flak he caught over the first 5-6 years of his career was entirely deserved, imo. The flak he's been catching over the last two seasons is entirely misplaced. His work and maturation have transformed him from an entertaining gimmick into one of the best 3-4 QBs in the world. Agree 100%. It's... interesting reading people in this topic who are saying that Lamar and Goff aren't great QBs. 1 1 Quote
