I’m missing something. I mean a comeback is extraordinarily unlikely but why a 2-pt try there?

Even if they miss, it is still a 1-possession game

Why go for two there?  Now you have to try again.

instead of kicking the extra point and going for the two point at the end?

am I overthinking this?

No. Harbaugh did, though.

I've never seen a team bottle up Lamar like this.  Detroit's tackling is incredible this game.  I just looked it up and was shocked to see that Lamar has been sacked 7 times 2 other times in his career.

Because they need a two point conversation to tie it up at some point. Better to know now if you need it rather than later.

EDIT: My bad. They could have tied it up with two TDs and two extra points. I guess they wanted to pad more stats.

All of "the analytics" say you should, even though the Ravens are now in a much worse spot now than if they just got the XP.

Doesn't change the number of possessions you trail by. If you make it and get the onside, TD + PAT wins. If you fail the 1st 2 pointer and get the onside, you can still tie with TD + 2PT.

No they don’t. They were down 14. It was 38-24.
