Please pray for my daughter. She is 16 and has an evil eating disorder that has turned our lives upside down. I use the football side of this board as a distraction but on this other side of the board I am hoping that prayer helps. I believe in the power of that. She’s a beautiful, brilliant, amazing  girl who is facing a really hard battle. She’s in the ER right now and they may admit her due to her super low heart rate. Oh and eff cheerleading!!!

I am so sorry to hear this. May God bless her and I will pray for her.

eh.  this is awful yolo.  i have a 10 yr old in cheerleading, and they are very conscious for who looks like what.  i can't imagine at 16.

you guys will get over this though.  years ago i date a girl who became active in those miss fitness competitions.  she was always in good shape, but she started doing the 900 cal a day diet with heavy working out.   she ended up with exercise induced anorexia and was very sick.  we weren't dating anymore at the time, but when i saw her, it was the middle of the summer and she was wearing a sweater because she was so cold.  her hair was brittle and falling out.  she looked sick.

after therapy and spending time in an in-patient facility, she's back to 100%.  i saw her maybe a month ago, and she looks like her old self.  married with a young child.  it was a major road bump in her life, but it can be overcome.

My thoughts and prayers for all of you Yolo, hopefully she continues on a path to recovery and you and your family find peace and grow and move forward stronger from these struggles.

Thank you all, yesterday was a bad day and today was a good day. Trying to stack some good days! I’ll be watching the Bills on my phone tomorrow night from Childrens, no Amazon prime on the tv here. It’s super uncomfortable but I’m grateful for the care that she is getting, I find hope in the stories others have shared!

I forgot to add. She is a Bills fan even though she was born and raised in Columbus. She has a sweet Bills jacket that proudly takes pics of herself in and posts on IG or snap or whatever it is. The QB of her HS football team wears 17 and Josh is his idol (he has zero ties to Buffalo) - but he’s 6’4 and can run with a huge arm and he’s super smart so I told him he picked a good one to emulate! Anyway I’ve learned more about eating disorders in the last 3 months than I ever wanted but no one ever said parenting was easy. I remember when I thought it was hard when they were toddlers. HA!! There is nothing like the teenage years. Nothing.
