I was thinking they should have just taken a knee, wasn't worth the risk of something going wrong and Houston returning the ball for 2 points.

I would've at least called a run play.  Shotgun pass is risky there.

Not being argumentative, but fair catching the kick and a hail Mary with a d penalty COULD set up a potential FG.
