Sucks losing Oliver but that’s a pretty clean report

Taron questionable.  I wonder if we play 4-3 mostly if he’s out

I’m going to be curious about the game plan on Sunday.

Bills were super aggressive against the Ravens. But against the Jets I think the bills force Fields to beat them from the pocket. Drop 7. Controlled rush designed to keep him in the pocket. Layered coverage on Wilson. Gap penetration up the middle.

Bills linebackers are going to have to be good on Sunday (bad against the Ravens) to control the run game.

I wouldn’t blitz fields until he tells me he can dice up a zone from the pocket

As for hall, he's not derrick henry.  Which is a good thing.

That is true but what really killed us against Baltimore was their OL and run scheme creating massive lanes for Henry to run through. Henry is special but he didn't need to be special against us. Hall or really any RB can just as easily coast through those truck-sized gaps. So hopefully our DTs, LBs, and safeties play much much better this weekend.

Big Ed being out sucks because he can't build on that great game he has last week. But a DT being out isn't going to decide who wins this game. I figure they will call Jordan Phillips up from the PS and while there will be some drop-off, it won't likely be enough to change the outcome.

I want to keep pointing this fact out. When that game kicked off last week in the Meadowlands, nobody had any idea of what a Tanner Engstrand offense led by Justin Fields looks like. They ran nothing in preseason. Engstrand had never called plays at the NFL level. The only places he had been a playcaller were at the University of San Diego (FCS-level) and the DC Defenders of the UFL. The Steelers had to start pretty vanilla and adjust as the game went on. The Bills have a week of tape.

Interesting tidbit from PFF.  Week 1 grades, 5 Jets are graded #1 or #2 at their position for their week 1 performance.

Breece Hall #1 RB

Armand Membou #1 OT

Garrett Wilson #2 WR

Sauce #1 CB

Quinnen Williams #2DT [Ed O was #1]

Admittedly it was against Rodgers and the Steelers and they lost, but thought it was interesting.

Membou's grading out that well is impressive, give that he is a rookie in week 1! Only 21 years old too. The Jets must be really happy that he's hit the ground running.

Christ what is with this team?  Beat the Ravens and cant hardly field a team against a division rival and it almost always seems to be mostly Defensive players.

What?  No Spero? No Ian? No Solomon Wilcotts? Is it even a 1 pm game then?

Not even being funny, but I love me some Spero & Solomon Wilcots. If I could have the rest of the regular season at 1pm with those guys I would do it in a heart beat.

Prime time sucks. Feels like every Fing Bills game is either Romo or Collinsworth. I can’t stand either one of them. I really miss John Madden. Even Jon Gruden was a fun color commentator. Romo was a breath of fresh air his first couple of seasons, but soon just became a caricature of himself.

This is why I think those PFF scores are crap… how is Derek Henry not the #1 ranked RB last week?   One fumble, I guess, negates the fact that he literally ran the Bills D into the ground.

Thinking of a 5 leg parlay ...

Ray Davis anytime TD

Bills +1 TO

Hall +40 yards running first half

Knox TD

Johnson +15 yards receiving

He was running through wide open holes.

Defense really needs to focus on gap integrity to slow the run down. Also, Justin Fields is going to be rolling out of the pocket a lot. Need a defender to be in his face when he does this. The Jets offense did a good job last week, but comparing them to the Ravens is way off the mark. Hopefully the defense has identified some of these tendencies and is well prepared. They should be able to force a few more stops than they did against the Ravens. I think the Bills take care of business.

Perhaps we over react .

Would be fun to play an honest 4-3 for a few quarters !

People, it’s the Jets. THE JETS. They are still gonna Jet. The only reason the Jets have won or played us tight in the past is because Josh sucked in those games. He’s past that. He’s entering that Brady level of Zen. He’s going to carve up the Jet’s D.

Milano and Bernard could not play worse than they did against the Ravens. I expect them to start to return to form after that embarrassing performance.

Here we go with Ed again. Didn’t he do this 2 years ago? Tweaked his ankle in the first game then was MEH the rest of the year but we gave him the ankle excuse? Enough. Keep him off the field until he’s 100% even if that means the bye week.

Load up against the run, double Wilson, make Fields throw and keep him contained. Winning.

Watch what the Steelers did in the second half. They were crashing the ends to keep Fields from getting outside on runs. They got some good hits on him and made the team throw the ball.
