He had a great game. Kudos to him. I have said that he won’t be able to make a career out of scramble drills and contested catches. Looked last night like just the scramble drill catches will be plenty.

I'll admit I've had my moments of doubts over the last 13 months but that kind of game was exactly what we hoped he could become. We've seen him do this before so it's not a one off. 

 

Guys, 112 yards and a TD? Those are WR1 numbers. If he can do this consistently then holy cow

I get the concern and I thought the same, but then I look at the box score and see that Josh threw for almost 400 yards.  No matter what we “think”, you can’t throw for 400 yards without some separation.

Yet another rule that might need to be looked at by the NFL. Keon gets pushed out under the goal post. He immediately comes back on the field and runs all the way across the end zone, in bounds, before catching the ball. That should be a catch! Otherwise, I’m guessing the receiver’s only option is to literally walk out the back of the end zone and effectively give himself up on the play.

I think that was the correct play.

100% the correct thing to do! He looked hell bent to score. Hopefully, little things like that and TO situations get discussed.

BTW, this is the second McD run out the clock and kick the winning FG  v.s. Ravens.

Great 4th quarter,  but overall,  it didn't really alleviate my concerns in terms of ability to consistently separate.  I thought he was ineffective to that point,  especially downfield.  Once they thought they had the game in the bag,  they stopped playing tight coverage at the snap and it gave him room to operate.  To his credit,  he took advantage of it.  And to be fair,  I do think he's better on shorter routes where he's running parallel to the LOS.

He was a DAWG. Alpha type *****. Love to see him play like a man out there. That 2nd two point try wasn't on him, bad ball by 17.

It would have been like 40 seconds with three time outs and the Ravens needing a touchdown but yes he should have gone down.

that is largely what the plan is there. That or more particularly just go take up space to free someone up. You can’t present as a target.

I disagree.  If he had scored,  it would have given the Ravens one more chance against our defense.   The fact that he got tackled inside the 10 was the best possible outcome on the play.

yea, I am curious to see if the tape shows jaire absolutely crumbling. 
 

The post game crew was shredding the ravens for keeping jaire on the field. 
 

I suspect, and am comfortable with “a slightly more qb friendly Gabe Davis” today but not the he’s a stud stuff already

I agree with the concept that once you’re pushed out, you shouldn’t be able to just step back on and catch it. No problem there. But if you’ve immediately come back and run across the field it seems a bit ridiculous.
