benderbender Posted Friday at 08:19 PM Posted Friday at 08:19 PM Nothing suspicious about “hip soreness” that lasts 6 months. Which is why it’s always a hoot when people bristle at the very idea the team wouldn’t be completely forthcoming about injury reports/draft or free agent visits/trade targets/etc 1 Quote

I think that probably means surgery and likely out for the season. Surgery recovery can take 8-12 weeks esp with what he does. Then he has to get back into kicking shape. I think it might be season ending if it is a hernia. 15 minutes ago, MiltonWaddams said: Spleen removal time Damn straight! 1 Quote
billsbackto81 Posted Friday at 08:21 PM Posted Friday at 08:21 PM I want to like this guy, but he's making it really difficult. I don't expect long, lingering injuries from my freaking place kicker. Why did it take so long? Did they really think he was gonna be ready for the opener? 1 Quote
Warriorspikes51 Posted Friday at 08:22 PM Posted Friday at 08:22 PM Prater is 14 of 16 in the playoffs during his career 4 2 Quote
Brand J Posted Friday at 08:22 PM Posted Friday at 08:22 PM When he missed that 27 yd chip shot FG I knew it had to be because he wasn’t healthy enough, or he was too much of a head case to rock with moving forward. Too bad Caden Davis didn’t seize his opportunity, that’s how jobs are won. 2 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted Friday at 08:24 PM Posted Friday at 08:24 PM I struggle to understand why if they’ve known about Bass’s injury and what he’s been dealing with, why they weren’t proactive in having a plan B in case he isn’t or wouldn’t be ready for week 1? 1 1 Quote

Prater is a solid kicker. It's possible they may have reached out to him earlier this summer 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted Friday at 08:27 PM Posted Friday at 08:27 PM Honestly, this just feels like the beginning of the end of Bass in Buffalo. I think Prater keeps the job even if Bass comes back. At least the first 4 weeks I don't have to panic with those weird curving kicks Bass makes (or misses) 1 5 Quote

That's No Moon Posted Friday at 08:32 PM Posted Friday at 08:32 PM Prater better have one more year in him because I DO NOT feel like playing "Wheel of Kickers" this season. Quote
saundena Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Is the IR done for the season, or IR designated to return? Quote

No Fing way… In probably the closest game we’ll have this season. They don’t have Tucker either so there’s that small silver lining that we won’t lose on a 65 yard FG, but this still blows. 1 Quote
Success Posted Friday at 08:43 PM Posted Friday at 08:43 PM Prater is as good a pickup as you could hope for, despite his age. Pretty reliable over the years, and we might try a few longer kicks w/ him in there. 1 Quote
wjag Posted Friday at 08:43 PM Posted Friday at 08:43 PM (edited) Not sure how much stock I put into his last decade of stats. He’s been a dome kicker since 2014. Denver and mile high before that. I wonder how much swirling wind conditions he saw in the Detroit and Arizona domes. He’s 41 years old. There isn’t/wasn’t a 20-something kicker on the market somewhere?
