I saw an article that said Davis was pursued by the Steelers, but chose to sign with Buffalo.   I'm curious about what we don't know.  Were the Steelers intending to sign Davis to their 53 man roster or their PS?   Does Davis have assurances that once he has gotten in football shape and learns Brady's playbook he'll be elevated to the 53 man roster?  If that happens, who gets released?

Three wides we can run or throw out of with Gabe & Palmer outside, Keon in the slot and Knox or Hawes at TE could be filthy.

Not sure that would ever be a thing, but ever since the idea of Gabe coming back became real, I’ve thought this could make sense as an option to attack with.

I have an idea, let's bring back all the players we haven't beaten the chiefs or bengals with in the playoffs, that'll get it done.  brilliant.

But I've heard he's a good blocker!

Dont know the Davis situation for certain, but guys just want to be here.

Jordan Phillips publicly declared he wouldnt answer the phone for anyone but the Bills, and was on a plane the minute they called about the Practice Squad.

Aside from that one outlier game vs teh Chiefs, his playoff averages are as follows:

4 Targets per game

2.3 catches per game

45 yards per game

0.3 TDs per game

I'm not saying Daivs is great, drops a few too many, but Brady will find a way to utilize him more than Dorsey did....if he can get healthy and become active on the roster.

The cynic in me says these guys know where their bread is buttered and sing their songs accordingly.

I guess you can do worse on the PS, I hope he doesn't see any elevations to gameday unless it's week 17 and we're resting guys with the 1 seed locked up.

He's obviously had some great moments but the inconsistency was always a thing. Seems pretty risk-free for the Bills and I'm pretty sure he's a really well liked/respected locker room guy so there's that and if he can get back from the injury and find a role on the field then that's cool too.

I know some folks bet hung up on a "true number one" WR but I really love the varitey of skill sets they have with this current group.

Hopefully Brady will also take away any option routes that require Davis to read the defense the same way his QB does...

The only thing He did really good? Blocking on bubble screens.

I get to a degree the point you are trying to make, but whatever his stats were in the game, his catches in the Colts game were clutch toe tappers that kept the key drive alive. He had 4 catches for 85 yards and was a big reason why they won that game, their first playoff win since 1995. So maybe it's two outlier games, but diminishing his Colts game is not the way.

My suspicion as well.

The leash on Shavers/Samuel/Moore just got a lot shorter.

With you. I just don't see it as a path to a better roster and I don't know of any examples thus far that have really moved the needle.

Team is a joke. Can’t move on.

Where is the harm.in signing him to the PS? Not the 53, the PS.
