Yes 100%.

Under the old rules the Bills would have played yesterday with a roster of 65... needlessly exposing important players to injury in a virtually meaningless game.

Another benefit is that they now have a much larger body of work with which to judge the players vying for the last few spots.

And those fringe players get more time to grow and develop

Strange, none of those names spells Mike White.  He should’ve been the first one released.

They are trying to trade him for a 3rd like they did Tyrod

I wonder what the worst way to be released would be? I’m sure there are some good stories out there

I think Gregg Williams used to sneak up on them and blast them in their face with an air horn.

Mostly marginal camp fodder guys, the rounds of releases basically being only 1 round is a lot less interesting in the past where the second round of releases would actually cut players in a more meaningful fashion. Now you basically get a few marginal players in the first round of cuts and then a final round.

I can't recall who it was, but didn't a Bills RB find out they were cut when they were live on ESPN a few years back? Spiller perhaps?

Purely for Hard Knocks footage

Incorrect. The Bills told HBO they would not allow filming of player releases…which I respect the hell out of.
