Many outlets had a 5th round ground on Zy Alexander.

Good, lengthy CB on a bad LSU defense. NFL.com lists Tyson Campbell as his pro comparison. Has a chance to develop into a solid depth player and maybe even more. Likely looking at a practice squad stash and a chance to compete for a main roster spot in 2026.

Any draftniks on here that can say a little more about him?

Alexander is a very good fit for a zone defense especially. He was projected to be drafted and some people had him as a late 2nd/3rd round guy but then he got to the combine and he put up dreadful athletic numbers which probably had to do with his steep drop to the undrafted . Throw in the fact he blew out his knee(could have gotten flagged) and the fact he’s really only a zone CB and that’s the reason he’s available.

Honestly I think I’d try him at safety with his length and athletic profile but CB e could play CB in a pinch in a zone heavy scheme

Jarveon Howard lasted about 10 hours before being waived.

Haven't heard of Alexander but seems like they are stacking bodies in case they need them later in the year due to injuries.

In short, this is camp fodder, and nothing more.

Did he even make it into town?

I missed the game (thankfully).  This was dude from Ole Miss right?  He have a brutal game?

Actually if it was the guy that was punting in the game against the Bears he did rather well held them deep on every punt unless they are talking about the place kicker then I get it Bass will be back and they have Davis as a break the glass in case of emergency kicker .

Davis kicked well.

I think Bass is just back to full health and it was a numbers crunch.

Hopeful they can get Davis back on the practice squad for the season. I think it's smart for teams to have a kicker on the practice squad, especially if it's a talented rookie like Davis, and especially if your kicker gets occasional stretches of the yips that you're not 100% sure he's gotten past (like Bass).

4D chess.  put two kickers back there to kick the FG. teams have to guess which one it's going to be.

Jarveon Howard lasted about 10 hours before being injured. This new Bills S&C team is not covering themselves in glory.

Zy Alexander pre-combine was being talked about as a Day-2 possibility. Zy Alexander post-combine dropped off the face of the draftable list with bottom-percentile explosive measurements in the vert/broad and speed in the 40, although his 10-yard split was probably his best measurable. His profile is he has some length (6'1") and is a willing tackler, ok at processing, but limited physically. This makes me wonder if the Bills are thinking more toward a conversion to safety than try to have him man up at the boundary corner, but he's still light at ~190.

They signed him to play in the 3rd preseason game and he got hurt in the first practice.

Doubt he makes it past cut downs or ends up on the PS. He wasn’t an NFL level corner from the games I watched pre-draft. Kind of a bigger name prospect than what his talent was.

I like him. I liked him as a fit for our scheme too.

I support this 100%.

How could the strength and conditioning staff have anything to do with a player who signed and got hurt on his first day? What strength and conditioning could they have helped him with?
