Not being a negative Nancy here, but there is cause for concern. The Shakir injury is most concerning, as high ankle sprains can carry on for awhile and him missing these weeks leading up to the Ravens isn't good. Then you have LB, DL, etc. and its concerning.

I hate this time of year… I vowed not to follow any training camp info, this year, because it’s always more depressing than not…

It's funny - I used to care WAY more about training camp and preseason when we sucked. I guess because that was the only time of the season when you could have any optimism lol.

Only one player that really matters

Yeah.  Thank god Reid Ferguson has had a clean camp so far.

Shakir's injury and the Hairston injuries really worry me (maybe even the Samuel one). I think all the other injuries are just injuries that need a week or two to heal and these players will be fine it is early August, just over a month left. So if a guy needs 2 weeks off he has two plus weeks to get ready for the opener. But Shakir is right on the margins for that timeilne.

Why does Negative Nancy not have an optimistic counterpart? Maybe something like, "Not to be a Positive Patty or anything, but..."

She is cousins with Realist Rita and Constructive Karen.

We're fine, we're a month out from the regular season and have plenty of bodies that can step up if need be.

Y'all need to remember we're a perennial Top 5 team in the NFL and stop freaking out every time someone gets dinged.  Next man up.

With respect to the bold...simply not going to happen around here.

While the Bills are a much better team without Shakir, the Bills' offense has demonstrated an ability to manage his absence, especially if they have a month to prepare for the Ravens.

Even if he were to play, I wouldn't be surprised if Shakir had a downsized role versus the Ravens. Possibly emphasize TE and heavy packages to run the ball on the Ravens' much-improved secondary.

Almost all of these guys would play and probably even practice if the games counted. The Bills' organizational stability is paying off by allowing vets to not practice if they are even a bit dinged up. My only concern is Hairston's progress.

I do wonder how much of this is down to staffs just being more cautious now. Say in the 80s or 90s someone had a sore muscle and were just expected to practice through it, but now they get held out and it gets listed as an injury. Some of that might be why we have such long injury reports now. Obviously certain ones like Shakir and Max don't fall into that category.

I'm not sure what other teams look like but I do think if there was a game next week a lot of these guys would play

My prediction is Bills lose week 1, and then still go on to get the 1 seed. That will be a fun month on here after the loss though.

Nothing to do with injuries. I just think Week 1 is fluky and Ravens will be highly motivated after Lamar got "robbed" of MVP. Bills also have a lot of new pieces on defense and at WR.
