Speaking of DaQuan Jones, he is one of the DTs getting double-teamed the most in the league. His pass rush win rate isn't in Chris Jones' level but is elite consider his double-team rate.

I am very curious about the first depth chart to see where they are using Deone Walker.   Given his size I feel like people assume he is a 1 Tech, but I feel like he could use to lose about 20-30 pounds as a 3 tech.   He is a massive guy, but he carries a ton of weight in his belly, and isnt very stout in his lower body.   Incredibly gifted football player, but I think part of what drove teams away from him is the lower back and conditioning issues.     Both of which could be a result of carrying bad weight.

The guy had a stress fracture in his back last season.  He is 6'7, he should be at least 330 pounds.  Just needs to gain more muscle.  D Lineman don't need to be trim.  Big and heavy is what DT's need to be.

The scheme forces a double on the 1T to create 1 on 1s at the other 3 spots.  Jones imo is the perfect player for Sanders to study behind.  Jones is still a m’fer inside but come January his legs are shot imo.

The depth of the draft at DT also didnt hep him.  He was DT13 with guys like CJ West and Josh Farmer going after him.  Feel like all of them are better than DT10 in most drafts.

Super interesting. Pretty much establishes how good Leonard Williams was last year.

Different expectations.  Walker is fight to make the rotation.  Sanders is fighting to be the starter.  Walker needs to be a grizzly bear a handful of times a game.  Today Sanders is more physically gifted than Daquan Jones.  The areas he needs to catch up to Jones are in technique and the mental aspect of the game.  Hence the comment he has all the god given gifts(Sanders). The league is filled with talented guys.

We're splitting hairs here and your implied point about the depth chart is true... but it's premature to say that Sanders is fighting to be a starter.

You might want to start another thread about the happy stuff. This one seems have turned into the injury thread about a new york second after you hit submit.

Yes. It's impossible to have a daily training camp report that doesn't heavily address injuries. Unrealistic at best.

Something to keep an eye on for the oline battles.

Apparently week to week so yea...

Two things this brought to mind... 1) wives of pro athletes should NEVER post stuff on social media. 99% of the time it has a negative impact... specifically with the employer. 2) I realize he's an O-lineman but that is not a hard body.

Bosa had a pretty big day a couple days ago, beat reporters were raving it was his best practice.

Epenesa, I heard he was manhandled by Jackson Hawes, to the point he tripped over a teammate who was already on the ground and the normally quiet and reserved AJ was fiery and pissed at Hawes. That’s all I’ve heard about him.

Landon Jackson I’ve heard nothing, but Javon Solomon has supposedly taken a big step forward in year 2.

Yes, the edge rushers who've been getting the most buzz are Javon Solomon and undrafted free agent Paris Shand.

How is Bass’s pelvis doing?

Maybe bring in Christian Wilkins to do an exam on Bass?

Years ago I was having serious health issues in that region. Couldn't find a cure, I actually went to a women's pelvic health clinic. I was the only dude in the place!

When you're in enough pain looking for answers, you'd be surprised what you will try.

Hope he gets better!

Based on the chart, we clearly need to restock the Williams cabinet with a DT.

Per Joe B’s week 1 recap article,  Walker has been part of the 1tech rotation, with Jones and Carter (and Zion Logue).

Did you read my post?  My point was whether the Bills have him at 1 tech or 3 tech.    There arent a lot of 6'7 1 techs walking around.   Thats because playing 1 tech requires good leverage.   Guys who are 6'7 with bad backs arent usually the best benders, which is something good leverage requires.   Yes, defensive tackle requires players to be "big and heavy" I dont expect Walker to be 6'7 185, but if he is going to play 3 tech he should consider losing some weight in his belly.  How do you think the pars defect happened?

How do the Bills best maximize his athletic ability and make sure he stays available?

I’m sorry about your health issues and I respect your privacy, but this post creates more questions than answers.

Thanks for posting this.  I suspect it comes as a surprise to many here that the Bills DTs compare so favorably in these metrics.
