I have a soft spot for Justin Fields. This sucks. He was finally getting a chance to “be the guy” without any reason to look over his shoulder. Hopefully he’s okay.

He had a chance for that already in Chicago for 3 years.

Fields had 44 starts in Chicago and 6 in Pittsburgh. He won 14 games

Trubisky had 50 starts in Chicago and 7 in Pittsburgh. He won 31 games.

If Fields hasn’t gotten a chance to be the guy, neither has Mitch.

The ridiculous idea that Fields just needs a chance (and the sub-idea that he just needs a competent coaching staff.. ya know like the kind you get with a 1st time HC and 1st time OC) is ludicrous. However, it has a few Jets fan legit talking Superbowl on jetnation with most feeling positive and thinking they should beat NE and MIA that a 10-7 WC is likely..

Hello This is Adam Shiftler. Apparantly Justin Fields was just carted off the field with an apparent left leg injury. An amputation was done at midfield. he should be fine for the beginning of the regular season.

I’m not sure if it’s because he’s a solid fantasy QB or it’s folks that can’t quit his Alma mater but he’s on his fourth coaching staff and third team since being drafted.

his market 1 year ago was a 6th round pick.

its fairly obvious what he is at this point.

It’s that time of year in Jets Nation.  I heard some nitwits on ESPN last week (“booger” and some other guy) speculating the Jets would win the AFC East.

“This should not affect the Jets Super Bowl chances.”

He could have been Sam Darnold. One average season (middle of the league ish) and he’d be looking at 3 years and $100M with $40M guaranteed. There’s no reason to dump on a guy that might have lost his last opportunity on July 24th. That sucks any way that you look at it.

It wasn’t an insult or compliment. TO ME, it was a fact. He doesn’t have what it takes as an NFL QB, especially one good enough to overcome the cursed Jets. I don’t mean physically as Fields will always have a place as a nice change of pace backup, but mentally it doesn’t seem like he can process the field fast enough. People saw 2 very unlikely QB redemptions in Mayfield & Darnold recently so they think that’s the norm.
