I’m so happy we got Moore. He was a beast at Mizzou and he’s been so underutilized

As much as I am very much not shutting the door on Coleman, every time I've heard Elijah Moore's name mentioned since practices began it's been followed by "makes a play"

Pretty sure Moore went to U Mississippi, not Missouri.

Few thoughts of mine from this string of tweets.

1. Shavers is one to watch. I've said all of seasons he has a legitimate shot at the 53. I stand by that. Seems like a guy that can catch a few passes, but play STs, and Finn in that Kumerow/Sherfield/Hollins role from years past. He can carve a role for himself.

2. Bishop seeing so much with the 1s this early isn't a bad thing. But I'm not reading into it too much just yet. He could still take the starting job if he stays healthy and shows well. And it looks like he's being given the opportunity.

3. Good day for Keon after a bad day 1. But this is who I expect him to be. He will have some really good games this year. He will disappear in a few games this year. I don't see him week in and week out being dominant...but he will flash.

4. I continue to say it. Grable over Van Demark is more about Grables ability to play both tackle spots equally as opposed to RVD that is really solid at LT but equally shaky at RT. Seeing Van Demark traded wouldn't shock me. Buffalo values position flexibility on the line and that's something he's been missing to this point. A lot will depend on health of the lineman at the end of PS. But we are ridiculously deep at OL.

Parrino mentioned on his Day 1 podcast that Shand stood out. Sounds like he is continuing it on day 2. Drafted in the CFL this year after finishing at LSU. Canadian born. Maybe a future practice squad player.

First i saw his name.  I looked at highlights quickly.  Saw him line up inside the tackle a lot.  I sorta got the Duane Smoot vibe from him.  Agree seems like a solid practice squad player if he doesnt make too much noise in preseason

Would be pretty sweet if he turned into our own version of Jerry Jeudy. A guy that needed a fresh start elsewhere and then flourished.

Me neither, but if there's any doubt about this Spencer Brown injury I can't see them dumping Van Demark (who started the KC regular season game and played reasonably well) for an unknown in Lundt who could "redshirt" on IR this year.  Yes, Grable can play both.  But if one T is already a little worrisome relative to injury, and Grable has to start, swing tackle depth is an issue.

Listen I am in agreement with load mgmt ... but his injury happened because of turf (which is a freak thing) not because of excessive use. At the time Von left he had 8 sacks in 12 games the dude was a beast and it was an atrocious outcome for all parties

Yes, that Detroit turf killed a SB for us in 2 separate games.  No load management was needed for him at the time, and it was a freak thing.... but afterwards during his return, seems like we had him on a Merriman'esque limit.  Unless im mistaken, and you meant Bosa, Bosa's injuries havent felt like fluke injuries.  Hes just regular ole injury prone.

Lets roll out the defense we have without him, keep him in a glass box during regular season.  Get him enough action to stay in game shape, feel sharp.  But where we NEED him, is playoffs.  Dont want to blow our load too early!

No news is the best news this time of year.

It always kills me, if the offense is doing well, the defense sucks, and vice versa. Let’s stay healthy until things count.

So true...every day I'll be hoping for a zero injury report.

So reminiscent of Brandon Reilly, Da'Rick Rogers, Naaman Roosevelt, _____________ (fill in name of WR camp darling of past who never really made it).

The Bills historically keep 5 WRs, there are 5 that are pretty much locks given their skills and contracts.

It's much more likely that Shavers, Virgil and Prather are on the practice squad and they each get 3 call ups to play special teams or cover a WR injury. That covers 9 of 17 games.

Are you referring to deep balls as they relate strictly to go routes or just pass attempts on any route that covers 20+ air yards?

Go routes

Shakir, Coleman, Palmer and Samuels are the only "pretty much locks" I see. I like Moore and was among the first to call for signing him during the draft weekend...but he's got to earn it.

They have traditionally kept 5 WR. However, Shavers best path to the 53 is showing he can play STs and taking one of those spots. Also depends on the health of the WR room by the end of camp. Still a long way to go but there is a path for him to have a real role. Is it more "likely" he's on the PS? Sure. Absolutely. I'm just saying he's got a path.

Hearing reports about this WR room, combined with the very real fact that Beane purposefully or accidentally put his merit on the line in the Jeremy White exchange has me thinking this WR room is going to be much better than anyone thinks this season.

All they need to do is find a handful of WR2 level receivers to go with Shakir and then Allen behind this OL could absolutely cook teams.

If they go with the 5 we think, 4 of them are seperators to go with Coleman and the Tight Ends.  Feels a bit like the Beasley, Diggs, Davis, Sanders year with the obvious acknowledgement that there is no Diggs level guy.

Would you say the WR room silently got better?

Shand didn’t do much at all in college going off production and athletic tests, so I am surprised to hear he’s doing so well - he was actually the #3 overall prospect in the CFL draft, but wasn’t taken until the 2nd round at pick 19. Maybe those who understand the CFL can explain why, but I take that to mean the league figured he’ll at least be on an NFL practice squad so they didn’t waste a high pick on him.
